Perhaps you missed Harris shunning Bernie, muzzling Walz, and parading around with Liz Cheney, bragging about creating the most lethal military in the world.
The purpose of the Democratic Leadership is not to win elections; their purpose is to make sure no one will ever raise taxes on their donors.
The response to 9/11 was the first time a republican ever got us into a war. The scrimmage of desert storm doesn’t count. Let us not forget the invasions wrought by O and H throughout the middle east and setting up the Ukraine/Russia war. Bush 43 was a bad Pres all around but at least Gore did not have a chance to implement the Green New Deal 15 years earlier and thank heavens Kerry didn’t have a chance either.
Desert Storm was the multi-nation campaign to liberate Kuwait. Iraq was not invaded and the war ended in months not years. Vietnam was a concoction of Kennedy and Johnson. Korea was Truman's mess. Republicans ended both.
The Jews offed Kennedy? Cause he was having second thoughts about Vietnam? Howler. If JFK had any second thoughts it was about which bimbo, mafia moll or spy to screw.
Reagan figured out how to have a million followers of the Satanic Verses kill each other? Like that's a bad thing?
And poor Saddam got tricked by Bush into invading Kuwait. Right. Thanks for the afternoon levity.
"We have no opinion on your Arab-Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America."
Her religion is not mentioned? Most likely she was following instructions to mislead Saddam Hussein into invading Kuwait.
WWI was Woodrow Wilson's war and WWII was FDR's. The Spanish American War and Civil War could be attributed to Teddy Roosevelt and Lincoln, both Republicans. Generally US military actions have bipartisan support. And after Poppy Bush's war in Iraq, Clinton and Madeleine Albright used sanctions to kill as many as 500,000 Iraqi kids. As with Crime, neither Party can appear soft on War.
NAZI Hermann Goring got it right:
“Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship.
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”
As Smedley Darlington Butler, two-time Congressional Medal of Honor winner noted, war is a racket and war profiteering and stealing of another country's resources makes our leaders and their donors RICH. It is not just the Wars, it is the National Emergencies and their sanctions, and the Coups used to overturn BAD elections and install US puppet dictators and replace democratically elected leaders with "American Democracy!"
Hmmm. In light of recent developments - not just my new and growing suspicion that Israel was involved in the Kennedy assassination, but also the Gaza genocide, and the near-certainty that Netanyahoo abetted Oct 7 precisely to that end - I guess I'm going to have to revisit the 'dancing Israelis' episode and related 9/11 phenomena.
Big picture thought: I think Democrats gave up on stealing the POTUS election. So they focused on stealing state and local races. I think that accounts for much of the strangeness in a number of the Senate and House elections.
I think they still tried to steal POTUS but som3how were held off in swing states. I'm still curious about the 7 million missing Biden voters?.. either they stayed home or don't exist
It is remarkable that in 2020, Biden received over 81 million votes, the most in Presidential history and Trump second most, over 74 million votes. The turnout of the voting eligible population had ranged from 51.7% to 61.6% (Obama in 2008) since it had been calculated starting in 1980, but jumped to 65.3% in the Biden/ Trump race. It fell back to 63.9% in 2024, with Trump receiving over 77 million votes.
GOP Senate candidates lost 4 states that Trump won after 2020-style mail-in vote dumps: AZ, NV, WI, MI. Several California House seats flipped after counting for months. Racket should take a closer look, Trump made it too big to rig against him this time but the cheating continues.
There absolutely were problems down ballot that Yuri referenced. Definitely need a harder look at Tammy Baldwin, Gallego (AZ needs to have Maricopa report results first, before all other counties, instead of last, so it knows how many votes it needs to turn the election) and definitely what the structural issues are that votes are counted for weeks or months (CA)
As someone who lives in NC, all I can say is ‘what a complete shit show.’
We have the ability to shoot rockets into space and then have them return and be caught in a gigantic pair of needle nose pliers, but for some strange reason we’re unable to register voters and manage said voters on a Blockchain, have single day voting and count results by that midnight.
Yup. On the one hand we all have to get a 'RealID' which is a pain in the neck, particularly if one gets all one's banking, utility bills online. And then on the other hand, some profess how disenfranchising the requirement to present ID to vote is. This is all easily solvable, but it's clearly not in the best interests of some to solve this problem.
In California, there were elections handily going Republican on election day and then after 30 days of counting, Democrats squeaked in a victory. This kind of stuff makes people suspicious (California, which has few checks and balances in the election process and now sends out ballots to everyone without stringent methods to purge moved or dead voters, and no verification that the person registered is actually real or a citizen).
AND, at least portions of CA have LAWS AGAINST voter ID! Laws AGAINST knowing who's voting! F-ing ridiculous, and literally outrageous...(as if American citizens retain any capacity for outrage anymore).
California currently has no Republicans holding statewide offices. The state is dominated by Democrats, who control the governor's office, both chambers of the state legislature, and other key statewide positions. Republicans do hold some seats in the state legislature and U.S. Congress, but they remain a minority.
I love the weather and food here in California, but we are increasingly becoming a third-world state. But my "betters" continue to lecture me that any criticism of the management of the recent fires here (which destroyed more than 10,000 homes) is both racist and misogynistic.
I'm a fifth generation Californian who left in 2019 (thank God we left before COVID) because of taxes, lack of forest and water management, ridiculous new rules about metering well water (we were on a well), and restrictive gun laws -- plus a lot of other little things that just added up. I could put up with a lot of liberal stuff because like you said -- weather, food, California is a beautiful state (plus, family.) But Democrats have a supermajority and with no checks and balances, I feared my taxes would continue to increase. Plus, I wouldn't be able to afford to put my three younger kids through college without relief. We're in Arizona now, which is fine, but we may move to Texas and get a farm.
From Chicago and now CA. In both places there are NO Republicans to blame and yet assigning blame is the game. Meanwhile, we're 75 B in debt, borrowing to pay medical debt for the undocumented, fighting the organized cartel crime which rules more than anyone cares to admit, treat outdoor camping drug addicts as if it's a housing issue, and the highest energy costs & taxes... that's just the start. Still, we vote as if we're casting a Netflix special and results don't matter...hence the exodus of the 10M that pay all the taxes of the 40M...as our state continues to prove the definition of insanity.
California's legislative (Democrat) super-majority also voted to allow ballot harvesting, where campaigns could visit voters (or their mailing addresses) who hadn't yet returned their ballots and turn them in on behalf of those voters after election day.
None of this patent bullshit would have to take up endless judicial resources if we demanded that properly registered - i.e., live citizens presenting proof of registering -show up and vote on election day. Democrats love absentee voting because it allows them to cheat.
You may have seen headlines about the state of Georgia purging voter rolls—“largest number ever in history!” We heard Secretary of .set Brad Raffenberger speak
We heard the Secretary speak a couple weeks back. You might also remember his refusal to find votes for Trump in the 2020 election. He impressed be as being utterly thorough, sincere and trustworthy. You may also recall that defeated gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams spoke during her campaign to a group in highly diverse Gwinnett County urging that everyone should vote, legal of not. From these examples, it should be easy for you to deduce which party each belongs to.
Oh my, Raffensperger is a globalist and protecting his brother’s business in China. Most of the election clerks would not sign off on the ballet review because it was improperly done. All of the subsequent news since Nov 2020 has proven there was massive fraud. When True the Vote had given the FBI and Raffensperger all of the files on the bad voter rolls and the drop box videos neither did anything with them. Raffensperger is a player par excellent.
This shouldn't be a partisan issue. Election results should be like present Floridian elections: the counting is over in a matter of hours and not days or weeks. Recently, in Chicago, the Democratic primary race for State's Attorney was a multi-day fiasco that saw thousands of ballots appear seemingly out of nowhere as the counting took too many days. All ballots should be received and counted by election day because anything other than that is just asking for people to lose faith in elections and their results.
Call me a Zionist asshole too. Those dumbass Arabs squandered 20 years of international goodwill aid on tunnels and weapons but didn't bother to generate their own electricity
But...but... David. Think about the children! How are these aspiring freedom fighters going to realize their full potential as suicide bombers if we don't give them free money to teach 6 yr olds to hate Jews?
It's been clear that voting irregularities can be deciding elections and this has to be fixed. It's clear why Trump does not believe he lost. I think that is at least a reasonable conclusion. Paper ballots and voter ID are the way to go. You have to have a good reason for absentee and identity has to be confirmed. All states should adopt this. The good news is if voter turnout starts favoring Republicans, Democrats will likely get on board. Though possibly not, since historically, they are the cheater. These voting issues aren't that hard to fix.
Got no problem with paper ballots and ID, as long as the government provides the ID free of charge starting with the issuance of an SSN #, or Driver’s License, and retroactively issues them to every eligible voter, including felons who have done their time.
I’d also like see voting schedules both compressed and expanded. No more three weeks of early voting, but also make Election Day on a Monday, a federal/state holiday, with the Fri/Sat/Sun prior being the early voting window.
Both parties suck, and both are complicit in trying to limit democratic participation in order the win elections. That’s the cheater aspect.
No, both parties are not trying to cheat. Only one. Both of them try to draw districts, something I think the supreme court is going to say is unconstitutional soon, based on race. But basically your ideas sound fine. Are you from Canada, though? Not sure about felons, maybe if they've done their time.
Both parties do cheat. If you don’t think Jeb Bush cheated to help his brother win the state in 2000, even before the post-election shenanigans, well, it’s your right to ignore valid evidence if you wish.
I wish I had your confidence in SCOTUS doing the right thing re. gerrymandering, but think they are as anti-democracy as are the political parties.
I’m from NC; spent my entire life here save for a six-year hitch in the Navy. Grew up in a college town, and spent my summers on a farm in the reddest of counties, so I saw the full spectrum of political ideology, as the civil rights and Vietnam protests were in full flower.
Hadn’t heard that word in a while. Orwell liked to use it, but Quisling was a contemporary of his. I think Quisling finally got shot (or hung?), a good ending for a Nazi.
Thanks for bringing this important case to the fore. Seems the NC S Ct, the ultimate interpreter of NC law, has to decide whether to create law out of thin air, or follow the law.
My problem with so many judges these days is the creative writing used in so many opinions to achieve an idealogical goal, and sht canning stare decisis and well established rules of statutory interpretation.
After unsubscribing to Racket, I feel much better now. Especially after Matt showed his either ridiculously misguided or corrupt support of the intimidation of Jews on college campuses with his claims that surrounding Jews with hostile mobs, spitting on them, physically blocking them from campuses and barricading them in buildings was a matter of "free speech". He is simply too dumb to continue to be a subscriber. Too bad.
I agree with you that Khalil’s case is not about free speech, but I still think Matt is one of the absolute best news sources available in the United States right now. He is one of the last people whom I would unsubscribe. His writing is excellent and his stories run the gambit.
No, it is better to hear all sides. But some thinking, such as supporting or ignoring open discrimination and intimidation is disqualifying. I don't need to hear more from Matt. Trying to do better.
The Republicans need to pass legislation that requires every counted vote to be from a voter confirmed with voter-ID for all federal elections. The ID should be state-issued. This will also start to solve the problem with state a local election cheating. The fact that this has not been done yet makes me think that Republicans believe that today they might have the advantage given how the screeching, Tesla-burning Democrats are so unliked.
It was under Clinton that the fed law stated voter ID was not required for federal elections. As long as state offices are also on the ballot, states can force the ID requirement or not, like many blue states have done.
Cheney? The lunatic and backstabber who you Dems have embraced along with his equally despicable daughter?
Perhaps you missed Harris shunning Bernie, muzzling Walz, and parading around with Liz Cheney, bragging about creating the most lethal military in the world.
The purpose of the Democratic Leadership is not to win elections; their purpose is to make sure no one will ever raise taxes on their donors.
"Both the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections were stolen by the GOP for Bush/Cheney. 2000 was the most consequential."
Who but a deranged Dem - or other garden variety fool -would claim that 2000 was stolen , Let alone 2004 from Lurch.
Good point.
Sounds like a Benghazi/Hillary comment!
Shlomo? Ivan?
I think you can safely presume the guy who didn't like the invasion of Iraq isn't a Benghazi nut, smart guy.
Right. Quote some more "Gizmodo" fool.
Yo ass wipe....Conservative hasbara here
Be careful

Where to begin? Eisenhower entangled us? Lol
There were 900 US troops in Vietnam in 1960.

April Glaspie endorsed Iraq's invasion of Kuwait:
"We have no opinion on your Arab-Arab conflicts, such as your dispute with Kuwait. Secretary Baker has directed me to emphasize the instruction, first given to Iraq in the 1960s, that the Kuwait issue is not associated with America."
Her religion is not mentioned? Most likely she was following instructions to mislead Saddam Hussein into invading Kuwait.
Lots of oil in those countries.
Don't bother them with facts.
They have feelings.
Gibberish

Hey Davel, should have been specific - foreign wars.
Uh, no it doesn't.

Actually, we can now, thanks to the guy that figured out how to backup a rocket into a parking spot.
I prefer to call it a parallel park. I remember practicing 100 years ago when I got my drivers license. Cheers.

Well, you’ve gone from ‘only one’ party cheats, to ‘pretty sure’ most of it is Dems.
I’ll have you quoting Marx in short order. ;-)
Don't count on it. LOL
"Here’s an exchange reported by WFAE between the board’s chairman, Alan Hirsch, and Griffin attorney Craig Schauer.
Hirsch: “They all believed that they were registered voters — is that correct?”
Schauer: “I don’t know what the individual voters believed, Mr. Chair.”
Hirsch: “Well, they came to vote, didn’t they?”'
Y'know who ELSE comes to vote? Cheaters. THAT's who. S.M.D.H.!

Yes, exactly.
I don't get what is so complicated. There are laws for elections and they need to be followed to the letter. End the story.
They are not democrats, they are Marxists bent on destruction.
You’re quite the troll. Comedy Gold!
More facts
I don't understand the point the judge is trying to make here:
"How does it not impose a significant burden across North Carolina, where we are only looking at certain ballots?"
If the problem is only with "certain ballots", why would limiting the lawsuit to those ballots be an undue burden on the state?
It seems that if you have one flat tire, overhauling the whole car is a ridiculous approach to the problem.
Matt also clarifies that in-person ballots cannot be reviewed, so it’s only going to be the absentee ballots.
Which I took as a convenient way for that judge to slither out of that one…
After unsubscribing to Racket, I feel much better now. Especially after Matt showed his either ridiculously misguided or corrupt support of the intimidation of Jews on college campuses with his claims that surrounding Jews with hostile mobs, spitting on them, physically blocking them from campuses and barricading them in buildings was a matter of "free speech". He is simply too dumb to continue to be a subscriber. Too bad.
This ain't a fucking aitport
Well, if you unsubscribed why are you still here?
I was excited to support Matt after seeing his Twitter files and Congressional testimony, so I signed up for a 1-year subscription.
I see. So you are now forced to come here and publicly whine about your choices. Makes sense
I am a paid subscriber and I can whine if I want to. Nobody forces me to do anything.
I agree. Masochism is perfectly logical and legal
I agree with you that Khalil’s case is not about free speech, but I still think Matt is one of the absolute best news sources available in the United States right now. He is one of the last people whom I would unsubscribe. His writing is excellent and his stories run the gambit.
You only subscribe to things that only report the things you want to hear?
