Here is the thing these pricks do not get. What do you think when you hear this? "I won't completely ban your guns. I will just try to take the ones that make it difficult for us to control you away... and then maybe the others." "Why yes, most most of my friends are venture capitalists, but I might put some anti-trust stuff in here and there if I feel like lit." "It's racist to complain you are competing against illegals for jobs. Oh, and this latest trade deal is probably going to offshore most of the jobs you have left." "These corporate tax cuts will absolutely filter down to you. Wait, are you asking for handouts? Go away you dirty peasant!" I know what I think. I am listening to a Republican/Democrat! What difference is there between you and a "corporate" Democrat, a loony Progressive, a "moderate" Republican, or a "you are on your own" Conservative at that point? We already have plenty of those to choose from.

You think your little guns are going to overthrow the government? Do it already then. That’s the dumbest argument for guns man. Absolutely ridiculous.

actually yes , the ARS will DEFEND us from the government. What do you think? They're going to drop a nuke on some red state? It would be guerrilla warfare.

But you gotta notice that that isn't a helpful argument either, right? Turning "come and take it" around on gun owners to say "come prove it and overthrow the government"?

Even as a gun owner, I think there's room to move the age to buy guns up to 21. I get the slippery slope argument but it seems strange that it's currently lower than the drinking age.

I think it has to do more with this little legal change to our Constitution called the 26th amendment. IMO, if you're old enough to vote (not to mention be sent to war), then you're old enough to buy a gun. Being of legal drinking should have nothing to do with it. What? Is your argument that alcohol makes you a better shot?

So why not say, "you're old enough to vote, you're old enough to drink?"

The reason is really simple. Some state made the law, and it worked. Drunk driving deaths by kids dropped. When it worked, it became really hard to argue against. Pretty much all states passed the same law.

In this case, we wouldn't even be prohibiting kids from using guns, like we prohibit them from using alcohol. They just wouldn't be able to buy them. I'd like some states to be allowed to try it, even as a gun owner myself.

Few points I'd like to clarify regarding your idiotic post:

1. 18 year olds are not "kids"; they're legally considered adults.

2. There are virtually zero "[d]runk driving deaths by kids". See fact #1. If it has happened, it would be an exceptional case; probably stemming from an illegal driver.

3. In the State of VA the voting age is 18. The minimum legal age to purchase alcohol is 21. Apparently, VA never got the "really simple" memo to which you refer in your opening question.

4. No law prohibits kids from using alcohol--or ever will. It appears that you never have been to a high school aged (or even college aged) house party. So sad for you.

You must not talk to many 18 year olds, because I can tell you that in a lot of ways they are "kids". This gotcha-style argument is boring. To anyone reading this, it's obvious you just ran out of ideas.

I'm also not sure why there needs to be rudeness. Touch some grass. Whether it's legal or not for under 21s to drink is a simple factual question that we can look up. It turns out in most places, it's only legal to drink with your parent... some party. You realize that when the cops show up, the party is over, right?

I think you're getting off topic...for no good reason. Which means you'd be a great fit for Congress--or the executive administration. Every other village idiot is doing it.

You're the one that stated "like we prohibit them from using alcohol". We don't. Its an asinine statement... and I'm happy to illustrate why above. Sure, we can legally limit their ability to buy it (18) but that does not prohibit them from using alcohol. Again, never has, never will. Correspondingly, your question as to why one should not have the ability "to drink" while having the ability to vote is an irrelevant and asinine proposition.

Further, I find that many 60 year olds act like "kids". So what? Your assertion that many 18 year old's act like kids is yet another irrelevant observation; particularly to a judge who might be presiding over an 18 year old's possible criminal trial. Under the law, an 18 year old is not a kid; no matter how they act.

Finally, as for your assertion that my posts are "boring"...just ask yourself why you are still reading them.
