Yes, we should. But Constitutional Amerndments are a heavy lift, and the smaller states will still support the electoral college.
In 2016 (as opposed to 2020 - important distinction), he did win, under the anti-democratic rules we have. "Democratic" means the person with the most votes (or, ideally, a majority) gets the job. Giving it to someone who got a lot fewer votes is anti-democratic (regardless of party). And I say that even though I despise Hillary and would hate to see her elected. I voted for Jill Stein, so at least my hands are clean on that one.
Hillary lost for lots of different reasons, and one of them was because she didn't even bother visiting rust belt states like Wisconsin. You probably know full well that the intention of the electoral college is so that a few high population states don't entirely dictate election results. If the electoral college was repealed then Hillarys successors would never step foot in flyover country. And that would not be a good thing for the usa long term even if the candidate you like wins. Better would be to reform the opaque primary system so the elites don't have complete control over who we get to vote for.
Charlexs Newlin, you are wrong. The candidate with the most votes wins the presidential election in each state. The states-that-are-united (i.e., the USA) was never intended to decide elections via one big vote. Our system is not "anti-democratic." Please stop confusing people on this question.
He won the election. We have an electoral college. Deal with it.
