I think it was more than just politics and just that one election. I think this whole culture of entitlement & Karen/Chad-ness of "I can tell YOU what to do but you daren't raise a peep about MY views" AND the fact that so many of us let them kick us without fighting back. There's also apathy, "it's not my job" mentality etc.

Revolutions are always enacted by the middle class which has the means and opportunities to revolt when their interests are being threatened, be these economic or cultural. As the poor do not have means and opportunities to revolt, they do so only when they are desperate (Bread riots). Even when the people in the middle class recognize that government has become their enemy, only a fraction of its members active resist--people like Matt and his colleagues, for example. Thus, they pay the price for all of us who restrict our actions to following these courageous people and commenting, hoping our heroes don't wear out--or get taken out. It's true that most of us don't have a bully pulpit but I believe there are things we could do to support the movement for government responsibility. Sharing what we learn from Matt and fellow posters, for example. Doing our own fact checking and research to support our positions. Avoiding the "But Trump" trap is another. The rot in our government has NOTHING to do with Trump. And he may not be able to clean it up. But he is the only one who is pointing out the rot. It's a start. And THEY know it!

gortroe, I couldn't have said it any better. I am doing all the things that you mentioned - sharing, fact checking, researching - it's just tough to find those who are willing to listen or read. I feel as tho I am doing what I can in my little corner of the world. And while it might not be enough to channel an election, at least I know that I may be a teeny tiny part of the solution. Guess I'd better qualify the last part of that sentence - I'm part of the solution if you want America to be the great country that she is and always has been by electing Donal Trump as President.

The deep-state warmonger Uniparty lost. That was the problem, not which party nominally won.
