A better analogy would be breaking up with a girlfriend and continuing to live together until the lease is up. It's almost assumed at this point that Biden hasn't been doing much day to day for a while, so what's wrong with riding it out for 6 more months?
I simply disagree on this point. Biden’s a corrupt piece of shit, but him (rightfully) admitting he can’t go another 4 years in one of the most stressful jobs in the world doesn’t mean he can’t finish his term. He’s been incapacitated the first 3.5 years so what’s another 6 months.
Seriously? It’s an affront the Democrats have forced this shitshow on the USA and the world this long. Finally the somnambulant set wakes up but somehow we should all be ok with this…you must be crazy.
What I’m saying is admitting you can’t do the job for another four year doesn’t mean you can’t do another 6 months. Obviously he hasn’t been doing it - so he should step aside - but that’s not the way the argument is being framed. You must hate nuance.
I will admit that I KNOW that Biden hasn’t been running the show - and probably hasn’t been ever, really - but at the same time, to have Kamala be the first woman president is upsetting to me. Beyond the fact that she is an idiot, a fraud and a shallow huckster, I would prefer the first woman president to be somehow, and in a lot of ways, better than her. Ok, in every way better than her. She’s a JOKE! Listen to her cackle!
I don’t hate nuance, but isn’t a situation that requires nuanced thinking. Let me give you an example: If you had a terrible investment advisor, who has lost a lot of your money, do you just let him/her keep losing more and more of your money because you learn he/she’s going to retire in six months?
Hint: Doubling down on a losing proposition is called the “Sunk Cost Fallacy”. Look it up.
I agree. Matt is one of the few trying to push this point, and while I kind of agree, I don't think Biden conceding he can't do another 4 years (actually he really only stepped down because of poll numbers and pressure) isn't the same as not being able to finish out his term.
This reminds me of a couple who stayed together because they had a son. Eventually their relationship turned violent and abusive, and boy did they have a nasty break-up. Then again, the man is an asshole narcissist who thinks he's entitled to date only hot younger women, so I always felt he brought this on himself.
Campaigning is clearly more difficult than governing the US. I don't know why that's not alarming.
At least Biden is keeping his campaign promise to be a one term President.

What about doing the dishes, making some sandwiches and tidying up a bit.
If she will still do that, and sleep with me, this is sounding like a hell of a deal!!
With Joe staying on, not so much.

You look it up (my comment history). I stand by my assessment and think this comment of the week and the GOP people making this point are wrong…
Just more intellectual dishonesty in our world fueled by bullshit. Have a good night!

He's conceding that he can't win.
Why can't he win?
Because he mumbles word salad, can't read a teleprompter and occasionally goes vacant like someone on a powerful drug.
Why doesn't this mean he can't do 6 more months and was criminally negligent doing it for some or all of the last 3 1/2 years?
Presidents are not supposed to be vegetal figureheads for an administration run by shadowy figures in the background.
Not, at least, in a democracy.
Please Walter and Matt, delete the ums, you knows, and uh uh his from your verbal inventory.
Funny. If only Biden was capable of sleeping with her commitment free. Unfortunately, we aren't even sure Joe Biden is breathing.
Or better yet, an imposter disguises himself as Joe.

Same Abe. Same. Why can’t these people let us all live in peace!
nice
I would love for Abe to read the following - it’s maddening but this is where we are today:

The picture posted here of Kamala looks like a young Maxine Waters. I’ll be looking for the Kamala masks for Halloween.
