The only way to do that is to shrink government so there's no use in bribing them. I get $0 a year from special interests because I can't do anything for them -- I'd like my 'elected officials' to be in the same boat.
I totally agree. If 95% of the money went away, they would have to focus on content and not attack ads. Another point to consider is shortening the election cycle: in many countries it's only a few months before the election. I just don't see this ever happening.
