I would say that wokeness, for lack of a better word, is the currently in vogue worldview of the ruling class, financial elite, MIC & PMC.
They took out Bernie Sanders along culture-war lines; not being divisive enough on race & gender issues. I would say NYTs 1619 Project was much more representative of the contemporary left than WSWS; the war for the left is over and wokeness won.
Not sure I'd call Frum and Kristol "mainstream liberals" (same goes for Liz Cheney and David French), even if their policy views have become indistinguishable from those of Biden & Pelosi. They would probably call themselves "the last true Republicans".
That crowd didn't invent wokeness, but they sure do love how self-immolating and divided wokeness has rendered the left.
I think Corbyn did a fair amount to earn the Anti-Semitism label, and I would say BDS is very much a woke movement.
I partially agree with your second paragraph, though I'd say the Democrats are bandwagon-jumpers rather than the tip of the spear. The tip of the spear is academia/higher education, and the primary vector of transmission is social media. The Democrats are just following what's popular on Twitter.
Or it just may be that, as an historical matter, the great majority of Americans support Israel, understand the shared values and see it as a valuable ally. While you may not like it, yours is a minority view, no matter how much you need to believe that you know the truth and that everyone else (itтАЩs not just the Right, support for Israel crosses party lines) is deluded, intimidated or bought and paid for.
Apparently, Freedom House and The EconomistтАЩs Democracy Index, hardly bastions of pro-Israel sentiment, entirely disagree with your conclusion.
Were they too тАЬinfluenced by decades of the most sophisticated propaganda in world historyтАЭ too? Is everyone who disagrees with you because the facts contradict you similarly deluded? Is it possible that it is you who are mistaken?
I'd put them roughly on par with NPR/MSNBC
A little right of that in my opinion.
I'd put CNN/NYT at "liberal to put it nicely", and NPR/MSNBC/Guardian well to the left of that.

Frum ( GWBтАЩs speechwriter for christsakes ) and Kristol are hardcore Neoconservatives despite having aligned with the Democrats.
ThereтАЩs pretty much just one party these days, with very few exceptions.
The War party. $$$$$$$

It came from pretentious college profs and academics in the humanities.

Has Corbyn ever met a Holocaust denier or a "From the River to the Sea" zealot he didn't consider his "dear friends"?

тАЬIsrael is an apartheid, human rights violating state. Period.тАЬ
In your personal humble opinion, of course. Not as a proven fact.

I never thought of it that way before, but you are correct.
Wokeness is enacted in exactly the same way the hunt for 'antisemites' was an is.
