The empress has no clothes.

Great job, Matt.

People like her deserved to be called out when they lie with impugnity.

ChrisC's avatar

They aren't even trying to fake being rational anymore.

Kurt's avatar

They all have terminal cases of TDS. Maybe a few more boosters will end their misery

Don Reed's avatar

People can't fake being rational thinkers if they have no idea what rational thinkers are. That said, you are correct. Even if the above is true, they no longer bother fake it because there is no longer any stigma (shame, etc.) / penalty for the impersonation of intelligent people.

FNR's avatar

the words "called out" will be the most generous phrase I'll read all year. you are a gentleman, sir.

Patrick's avatar

She's as dense as a thicket. And I'm probably impugning the thicket

The inevitable result of diluting the universities 40-50 years ago, letting in people who decades earlier could not possibly gotten into a college and worked various jobs that didn't demand the ability to remember what he/she said minutes earlier. When the universities became diploma mills, this made it possible for the dopes to impersonate competent civil servants, etc.

Hrothgar Pedersen's avatar

Bro there's nothing contradictory in her two statements. what are you guys talking about? Taibbi must be having an off week

David Young's avatar

Both of her statements show a strong form of reality denial. She just saw other witnesses present a mountain of evidence that there is a conspiracy to impose censorship and that it violates the 1st amendment. Whether they contradict each other is not the main point. She is just a low level official who gets her "news" from the New York Times and others who constantly peddle conspiracy theories about Hunter's laptop, Russian collusion, etc.

Hrothgar Pedersen's avatar

That all may be true but there's enough to mock there without coming up with fake things to mock her for

Don Reed's avatar

Olivia, is that you?!

Hrothgar Pedersen's avatar

You can agree or disagree with either or both of the individual assertions.

But there's nothing contradictory in her statements - her comments are complementary, not contradictory. internally consistent and coherent.

12-01-23: Needless to say, this little Pence Traitorette will not enjoy her evening on 11/05/24... Note to Matt: Quite often, a short message like this is a 1000% percent more effective than a 10-paragraph item. Keep in mind that most of us have limited time to spend reading, no matter what it is and no matter how good it is. Thank you.

Jim M's avatar

The true tragedy is that she (nor her apologist in the comments below) comprehend how far off base they are. They genuinely believe their stance and absolutely refuse to entertain any thought that they might be wrong. That degree of close-mindedness, that surety of thought while they actually do evil things (and I don't use that word lightly) is the frightening aspect of all this.

I was quite young, but I remember hearing about the Cultural Revolution in China while it happened. It's somewhat related, the film 'The Killing Fields' also portrays what happens when people in power are convinced of their 'correct thinking'. Looking at the havoc wrought by those with TDS, and more importantly, how entrenched they are is foreboding.

How do these national security "experts" not understand how video recordings and the internet work? Troye is yet another deep state uniparty shill: In 2020, Troye, along with over 130 other former Republican national security officials, signed a statement that asserted that President Trump was unfit to serve another term, and "To that end, we are firmly convinced that it is in the best interest of our nation that Vice President Joe Biden be elected as the next President of the United States, and we will vote for him."

Jeff Keener's avatar

Mere status-quo Deep Staters that probably undermined the commander in chief they were supposed to be serving. If they felt that way while serving President Trump, they should have done the honorable thing and resigned.

Gary Ogden's avatar

Jeff: Then committed hara-kiri.

Hrothgar Pedersen's avatar

She served VP Pence. and she did resign.

Jeff Keener's avatar

Researched her a little. From Wikipedia:

"After graduating from college, Troye worked for the Republican National Committee. She began a career in national security after the September 11 attacks. She served in the Pentagon as a George W. Bush Administration appointee. Troye was an intelligence official in the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis serving as chief of strategy, policy, and plans. Troye worked in the Office of the Vice President of the United States as the homeland security and counterterrorism advisor to Vice President Pence and served as an aide to the White House Coronavirus Task Force.[3][4][5]

While Troye says she resigned, Mike Pence's national security adviser, Keith Kellogg, claims he fired her and "escorted her off the compound." He has also more generally accused her of lying about her time in the Trump-Pence administration. Troye has denied the allegations.[6]"

Hrothgar Pedersen's avatar

Yeah it sucks that we don't have a serious opposition party in this country. Instead we got Trump

Don Reed's avatar

Yuri, we must have been separated at birth. All of the above is part of my "reminder" file on the various people who betrayed President Trump (terrible joke: the Chris Christie file weighs 1,000 lbs.). This is the problem with so many lies -- they can't even keep them straight for an hour!

"There must have been a reason" and "Companies make their own calls" were two of the biggest whoppers that I saw from this woman. (Are we still allowed to say that?)

NotUBabeItsMe's avatar

You are allowed to say anything you'd like. Period.

SimulationCommander's avatar

I wish the Censorship Industrial Complex had gotten the memo......

Han's avatar

that's true however under oath, it has to be the truth or punishment is available

The only fealty I have on this spinning rock is to my merry band of brothers.

Han's avatar

wot a lot o' humbag, that.

kippers 'n ale's what you need an' no mistake. then the rock stops spinning and you'll flyyyyyyyy

Don Reed's avatar

What, that she's a woman? Let's consult Supreme Court justice Ketanji Brown on this one...

Shelley's avatar

(Are we still allowed to say that?) What? That the woman had two of the biggest whopper, or that 'she' was a 'woman'?

Ryan Cartee's avatar

It’s a lot harder for people to remember what they said when they are using others’ prepared words, which makes most of what happens in Congress feel more like a boring scripted play than a live debate or discussion.

Orenv's avatar

Perhaps scripted, but her official statement under oath

Rather Curmudgeonly's avatar

This is a parasite. She worked for the RNC immediately out of college, and then slid into the GWB administration. She has never worked an honest job her entire life.

Bill Cribben's avatar

Not all parasites are bad she is a malignancy

VideoSavant's avatar

These people are emoters, not thinkers.

This is why they do stupid things and don't remember them.

TWC's avatar

Ahhh...welcome to the Matriarchy!

Don Reed's avatar

They're parrots who simply repeat what they hear. And while it isn't necessary for them to be narcissists, it sure does help.

publius_x's avatar

These people make George Santos look normal.

Bill Cribben's avatar

At least he is but a pathological liar with no influence.

Don Reed's avatar

He's a non-influential liar surrounded by elite, influential pathological liars. There must be a Prevent [Fill in the blank] Telephone Hotline for that situation, no?

Tom Schwoegler's avatar

Another stellar Democrat witness, no doubt, personally vetted by none other than Stacey Plaskett herself.

Bootsorourke's avatar

you mean the one who made Epstein's Island safe for pedophiles?

Don Reed's avatar

If Epstein's "island" had been in Biden's White House, he'd still be alive today. In fact, he might even be Biden's vice-president.

2 Cool 2 Fool's avatar

Apparently Jussie Smollett was unavailable - so they brought her in.

And prepared for her testimony by Ketanji Jackson.

Who is Stacey Plaskett, and why does her name sound like bad food?

First time I've seen adderall verbed. Cool.

Tom Schwoegler's avatar

Just because she said she didn't say it, doesn't mean that we didn't hear it.

TWC's avatar

This. Bizarro world, on a cognitive level.

Frank Lee's avatar

Do these people even care that they are constantly caught in a bald-faced lie?

Clever Pseudonym's avatar

If you lie for an Establishment position or to support an Establishment narrative it will have no negative repercussions for your political career, in fact quite opposite. These people have ensured their present and future employment. The Establishment selects first and foremost for loyalty, malleability and a willingness to contradict on Tuesday what you said on Monday, if winning a battle demands it.

Frank Lee's avatar

Yes, but isn't it so weird how they duped the rebellious kiddos to support them... the actual man?

Clever Pseudonym's avatar

The main ingredient in all these dishes is a heavy portion of propaganda and social conditioning...once people are convinced 1) that their opponents are the embodiment of evil who need to be eliminated; and 2) that everyone they know or may want to know (or who may employ them) feels and thinks the same way and will demonize and ostracize them for thinking differently, they are helpless and can be controlled/convinced to do or say anything.

The social media age is the golden age of mass propaganda and mass conformity....

Frank Lee's avatar

There are two camps. One that wants to force their opponents to bow down and comply or die. The other side just wants those people to be power-neutered so they stop trying to control everyone else. Both want their enemy defeated, but one is righteous the other is evil.

Nina's avatar

Yes, lying liars lie and get promoted for it.

Orenv's avatar

Auditioning for a role in politics.

Frank Lee's avatar

Wife won't support it. So all I can do is write and debate.

Patrick Powers's avatar

Do you want Trump to win?

Frank Lee's avatar

Yes, because he is the only candidate on the GOP stage that can both win and address the problems the country is having. Electing Trump will also send a clear message to the Democrats that their dirty and disgusting political tactics did not work. This, hopefully, will result in the real soul searching that the Democrats should have done after the 2016 election.

trembo slice's avatar

Why would they? The “Red Wave” in 2022 was more like a ripple from dipping your feet in the water. If the GOP wasn’t absolutely worthless the Dems may have to change.

IMO, The GOP has to allow Shontay to get abortions or they can continue to get demolished in elections.

Neither party is serious about cutting spending. There’s a small faction of fiscal conservatives in the House, but not enough to force meaningful change.

It’s full speed ahead until economic cataclysm. I’m 37 and the hopes of social security providing any help by the time I'm retirement age is a sick joke. They may still send out checks, but they’ll debase the currency so much by then it’ll get me three days of my allotted bug-based protein.

Frank Lee's avatar

Well get busy making kids then.

Frank Lee's avatar

Well there you go. No kids to work and pay SS tax. You extend your childhood into adulthood rejecting the life of marriage and family because it cramps your style... well then get ready to be a mess of lonely lack of care when you are older.

Marty Keller's avatar

Think Ms. Troye was on the team to prep Gavin Newsom for last night's FNC show.

Don Reed's avatar

Judging by the results --- Newsom's fiasco --- there can be no doubt about it.

Rob's avatar

Ha! If this were Canada, they’d vote her opening statement into non-existence and pretend it never happened.

GMT1969's avatar

Who are you going to believe, me right now, or your what your lying ears heard me say an hour ago?

Ms. Troye and her fellow travelers must think the collective public memory - regardless of video recordings- is about 30 seconds long....the arrogance and stupidity on display here are mind boggling!

Rather Curmudgeonly's avatar

For the rank partisan crowd she runs in - she knows exactly what matters. She is a party apparatchik.

Hrothgar Pedersen's avatar

At 36:12 she says the notion Twitter is aligning with federal government to suppress protected speech is a conspiracy theory that lacks evidence

At 1:36:16 she says she never saw any evidence of any such conspiracy, & that she has never claimed to have seen evidence for any such conspiracy. to repeat, again: she says it is a conspiracy theory that lacks evidence.

Trust me, given her girth, you wouldn't want to see her hit the ground. It would be the Hindenburg, without the flames.
