Maybe so, but Trump's efforts to influence Pence's counting of electors was not so different from the ballot counting shenanigans. A different VP would have complied, and where would we be then?

You do realize that Trump was trolling the Democrats and they fell for it, hook line and sinker. Now they publish articles in their tame media talking about how difficult they made things for Trump by banning him from all social media, but for all intents and purposes they removed their foil, which is why Biden is sunk around 40% approval and Trump is actually more popular.
Seemed to me like they did him a favor. He can reach his peeps, but they can't.
He was also doing a bit of payback for the Russiagate thing, and that also worked. Really, they're trying to take the cake from the Republicans and become the stupid party, and making a very good case for it. I said from the beginning that they would have been wise to just ignore him and everything he says, but they just can't.
Nobody can. Nobody could. Soon, nobody will be talking about anything but. Uncle Donny is the relative you grudgingly are obliged to invite to Thanksgiving dinner, the guest no one sure as hell wants to sit next to, but for the following weeks, months, years he's the one everyone remembers. "Remember that Thanksgiving 20 years go when Uncle Donny...." Do you really think Trump in his current public role is ignorable? In our current media ecosystem? No.
Let's see, which party is connected to widespread mandates and speech-policing? Which party has been calling everything from climate to racism a public-health emergency that require emergency powers to fix? Who is pushing "no rights are absolute"? Who has co-opted the ACLU, whose mission has morphed from individual rights to pro-social behavior?
You answered the wrong question. I know which party those problems are associated with. I want to know which party you think has no interest in telling you how to live your life?
The red party has plenty of inclination to tell you how to live your life. You're a liar or delusional to say otherwise. They only look less objectionable in comparison to the blue party.
There was no way Pence was going to comply with that, nor would any other VP, at least if they wanted a long lifespan. At that point, i'd fully expect someone to come out shooting. You can't gainsay the expressed will of the people without bloodshed. That said, there is some question whether this election result was the expressed will of the people.

One would wish. It's the reaction to him that is the destructive part. But I agree, that kind of discipline doesn't exist.
The Washington Post would have a blank first page if Trump disappeared.
Unearned coverage, since he's not doing too much lately. Eventually someone has to get tired of reading about that.
Do Baptists tire of contemplating Satan's evil ways?
In my experience, only as a dodge to avoid contemplating their own, but point accepted.
Humility is becoming more important than stupidity. One party is trying to boss everyone around, and one isn't.
Uh, which one is it you think that isn't interested in telling you how to live your life?

The blue-to-red migration is evidence to help answer your question. Freedom, prosperity, and migration are connected.

"You're a liar or delusional to say otherwise."
I guess it's impossible that you could be mistaken. Didn't this conversation start being about humility? We've come full circle.
That you keep avoiding answering tells me I'm not wrong about this.
