I am a CEO, it appears that you are not and don't really understand corporate governance. Yes, a CEO works at the pleasure of ownership, but then so does a coach of a professional athletic franchise. If the ownership interferes with the authority and independence of the coach to do his/her job, then who is going to take that job? The same is true for a CEO. The job is difficult enough and Musk knows that to do it well the person he hires is going to have be given a level of authority and accountability to do the job... including having a voice and decisions authority that might be disagreements for strategy and direction.

That is the actual point here. If Musk retains the CEO position he gets to call all the shots. If he delegates it, then he loses that level of detailed control. He can express his opinion, and he might find a CEO that matches his general views and ideas, but ultimately he would need to give up detailed control.

Well, you should have made this clear earlier. The Chief Executive Officer has spoken. My problem, Frank, as I see it, is that I tend to come off as a CEO but I'm really not a CEO, and even though I don't really understand corporate governance, I know how to wing it in the C-suite as if I really were a CEO.
