I hope you find a few minutes to discuss the Dave Smith - Douglas Murray get together.

Not much to say. Dave Smith outed himself as the much less informed debater, while still speaking with incredible confidence on the topic with which his lack of knowledge should have done the opposite.

Dave's the kind of guy who will criticize the use of expert opinions and 15 minutes later quote expert opinion. Which he did in that debate.

Indecisive decider appears to have outed himself. As a fan of deep state operatives. Douglas Murray is now on Sam Harris island

Solid representation of Dave Smith logic, chuck. Call us when the shuttle lands.

Can you give some examples? Because Douglas Murray seems to feel he personally had much greater expertise than Dave because he was embedded with the IDF. Which to me seems to more likely disqualify you as a neutral observer rather than prove your credibility.

Murray also overwhelmingly seems to ignore genocide experts, IHL experts, historians and IRL experts, so at best he can claim to love only experts that agree with him.

Sure, but it would be better if you searched "how many times has murray been to israel in the last 10 years". If you don't think immersing yourself into a different culture provides valuable insight on it's language, values and history, you are underestimating what it brings. I've lived in 5 states and various areas within them, and there are cultural differences you wouldn't know about unless you traveled there. And that's in the US.

That's where Dave Smith is. And I say that as someone who thought Dave brought valuable insight into discussions on Covid and Ukraine, and the problems with our government's expert class. I don't hate Dave Smith. I hate that he won't admit to his biases on topics he knows less about than others. I hate that he speaks with high levels of confidence - say 8/10 - in areas where his comparable knowledge is 2/10. I hate that he doubled down on ignorance instead of admitting he has things wrong. I hate that he reads other's opinions and forms his opinions on those opinions.

Ironically, he's doing the same thing our healthcare expert class did during Covid. Things he pointed out about them.

Again, Douglas Murray being a massive Israel fan and hating Palestinians doesnтАЩt help his credibility at all. He could still be an expert like Benny Morris, but it shows his bias. I doubt you would consider Palestinian journalists embedded with Hamas on October 7th neutral parties :p

Meanwhile you canтАЩt point to a single factual thing, because Murray made a fool of himself and we are left with this sort of mutual ad hominem statements. Rather than anything interesting.

You are as free to your opinion as you are to ignore reality. Success at both I see.

But you canтАЩt point to any reality I ignored. While I certainly will miss things, in this case it doesnтАЩt seem so

Just finished listening myself, remembered why I like reading Douglas Murray so much and listening to him debate. Really felt more like a "schooling" to Dave and Rogan on geopolitics.
