What should one do when their occupation/livelihood/business is clearly headed for extinction? It's not form blockades and make demands that no government is ever going to dignify with a response, let alone capitulation. The right moves would not involve tying up a bunch of civilian lives in pointless yammering. Regardless of what several in here imagine, the mess does not and did not have mass support; all credible non-biased information indicates it was a small bunch of people alienating a much larger bunch of people. Multiple friends in Ottawa all indicated that it was blown way up and over anything the mass line cared about. That is not how movements are developed.
In Canada the trucker convoy opened up a conversation that had been shut down by censorship and divisive marginalization by the MSM. The MILLIONS of supporters showed that it was not a "fringe" group holding "unacceptable" views. Several provinces have now dropped masking and vaccine mandates (both in Alta.). The Liberal government was forced to back down from implementing the Emergencies Act. And perhaps most importantly it exposed the vile, fascist tendencies of the current Liberal government. I do not use the term "fascist" lightly. Employing banks to freeze innocent citizens accounts for engaging in lawful protest (and support thereof) is pure fascism. Names of supporters were then published in MSM to further socially vilify and economically assault citizens engaged in legal political action. Our fascist Prime Minister hit a low in polling (bottoming our at 16% !!!). That in itself is a GREAT success.
I am a supporter of the convoy in Canada and I am grateful for their courageous actions in confronting the most autocratic, arrogant and dangerous government (in Canada) I have experienced in my lifetime (I am a senior).
I'm another Canadian Senior and Canada, Yes Canada had the worst COVID response in long term Care in the developed world. Swept under the rug, yes, there are commissions and committees; seen any new LTC homes going up? Seen any de privatization of LTC going on? The organs of mind control have done their work well; only a small fraction have a clue what's going on.
In section "V - The Story of the Pandemic, Told by the Numbers" Ruechel gives a summary of covid deaths in Canada (to that point). Shockingly, 75% of all covid deaths occurred in INSTITUTIONAL SETTINGS - hospitals, jails and LONG TERM CARE. Long term care residents comprise over half (55%) of the total of the institutionalized population of 292,000. So, now we know what they mean when they say they've "taken care of" vulnerable seniors.
This was a slaughter of the most vulnerable in society. Most people, as these numbers show, were not at great risk from this virus (about the same as a moderately nasty seasonal flu). But the denial of effective treatments relying only on the 'miracle vaccine' (that wasn't), the sending of sick patients from hospitals to LTC to "free up beds" (that were never needed) led to unnecessary death of many institutionalized seniors, many dying after being isolated from family and friends for their final months on this earth. I hope I am wrong but I fear this scandal will likely never be known by most people.
As you say the mind control has been quite effective. For the majority anything counter to the cult covidian narrative ('miracle' vaxes=safe+effective, all other treatments=dangerous disinformation, masks+vaccines+lock downs+distancing=worked perfectly etc.) gets the following response:
You'd think we'd be ashamed of ourselves; that government's would have fallen; that billions would being spent now to de privatize the LTCs and upgrade the existing one's and build new LTC homes. We seem to worry a lot more about Ukrainians than our Canadian parents. Of course, the right to residential real estate speculation is more important than housing for the Canadian working classes. Of course, the working classes who already own home's are so happy and couldn't care less about those who don't. The agitprop has worked well to atomise us into I'm alright Jack individuals who demonstrate in the streets over a basketball team with zero Canadians on the team.
Sadly, it's not over. The tsunami of deaths caused by the mRNA gene therapy mandate is only getting started. The damn thing causes autoimmune disorders, blood clots, and blocks the body's ability to fight cancer. Every category is way, way up. It's coming.
Personally, I would have preferred to take the Russian or other vaccine based on established technology where we would have a good idea of the body count to the expected but I was not given that option. No doubt, ten's or perhaps hundreds of thousands of deaths could have been prevented if we had access to the proven technology much sooner. Of course, BIG Pharma needed the money, they always do. Hello, moderna had never brought a product to market and Pfizer has been fined billions over the years for hyper egregious practices.
Right. He's an incompetent moron who, if Daddy hadn't greased the way, would be deep frying chicken at a fast food restaurant. The people that talk about him like he's Stalin are clearly overexposed to popular TV shows and have no experience living under an actual autocracy.
No argument about Trudeau; heтАЩs a shithead trust funder absent any life experience that would qualify him to lead a nation.
No one wants to feel like a sucker; wild claims are part of any dissident activity. Adversaries always claim victory about stuff over which they have no influence; makes them feel good. тАЬWE WON!тАЭтАжsaid the folks already consigned to irrelevancy. If folks wanna make them heroes, fine with me. Happens all the time. Trump is a hero to some. So is Biden. And so are a depressing number of other politicians. Shit, Trudeau is a hero to some.
"all credible non-biased information indicates it was a small bunch of people alienating a much larger bunch of people. "
Sounds like a comment that could have been made by a bunch of "non-biased" white folk shortly after Rosa Parks was removed from a public bus for refusing to give up her seat to a white man and landed herself in jail. Do you also believe Ms. Parks action(s) had nothing to do with the Civil Rights Act being passed by Congress 9 years later?
Sorry, but peak oil was "called" in the '70's and several times since. Yet, we produced more oil than ever in 2020. Take your fear mongering somewhere else, perhaps with the spooked COVID lockdown crowd. Data tells a different story than these bullshit narratives.
Data tells a story that over six million people world wide have died of COVID. Your own narrative of COVID concern as being overblown is also bullshit.
Why are these the wrong moves ? What are the right moves ?

I was shocked by this article by Julius Ruechel:
Julius Ruechel: The Lies Exposed by the Numbers: Fear, Misdirection, & Institutional Deaths (An Investigative Report)
https://www.juliusruechel.com/2021/05/the-lies-exposed-by-numbers-fear.html#prologue

Trudeau has yet to prorogue parliament, so not yet the most autocratic.
Right. He's an incompetent moron who, if Daddy hadn't greased the way, would be deep frying chicken at a fast food restaurant. The people that talk about him like he's Stalin are clearly overexposed to popular TV shows and have no experience living under an actual autocracy.
He's not the worst at anything but he's right up there. A midget with a Lilliputian cabinet. Only in Canada you say.
