It will be a really scary day for the oligarchy when these two groups move past the state propaganda pitting them against each other and figure out they're on the same side.
They are not exactly on the same side, that is the problem with identity politics, it divides people into extremely narrow special interest groups. Emphasis on the class divide eleviates those distinctions.
I hope that day happens. But if you've ever been in a group of anarchists, you know that they won't agree on anything. And to top it off, there are feds everywhere, in person and online, whose job it is to drop an incendiary comment every now and then to keep people fighting amongst themselves.
Yep - TPTB can’t afford to let them have a rational conversation - as they’d realize that they have the same peaceful goals, dreams for their children and disagree with 99% of the BS that’s being thrown at our population. And that’s extremely dangerous.
"The Pratt protesters brought up Marvin Guy, a Killeen, Texas resident who’s been held without charge for eight years in a case involving a no-knock raid that ended with Guy shooting and killing a police officer, whom he believed to be an intruder. No drugs were found in the raid. The Patriot Council demonstrators mostly countered with J6 stories. Eventually, the Pratt club marched away."
Sounds like they were having a dialog, using this meeting to talk around and hash out some issues. I see this as good, as opposed to the freaks of antifa coming in hot with anyone who is not 100% in agreement with them.
"the freaks of antifa'... just like the "freaks with swastikas"
freaks being the common denominator.
and yet, we as a species love to generalize, all left are crazed antifa, all right are crazed nazis
none of which is true.
freaks, are, simply, freaks, and always present, always stirring shit, that the more calm and debate minded protestors, will fail, and fall.. to the freak's visions.
be mindful of that.
avoid falling for "the left are all antifa", or the "right are all nazi's"
no, freaks are ALL freaks, on all sides, and do not represent independants
Which freaks with Swastikas are we talking about? The masses of White supremacists we often hear about from the Left=DNC=Media, that are as seemingly as elusive as Bigfoot?
Underground bands composed of Nazi Occultists, Nazi Mystics, Nazi Esoterics. White supremacy, anti-christian, virulent anti-semitism, sure---they're on the docket, but what animates these Nazi sects (and they are sects) is the eternal (seemingly) search for the ancient Hyperboreans, a mythical people, created by the crazy greeks 2600 years ago.
In greek lore the Hyperboreans occupied the northern most regions of the planet. The Nazi mystics are primarily stocked with wannabe Himmlers, earnestly dedicated to forging a religious movement from the embers of the familiar nazi schtick.
And a host of other weird mystical shit that your Uncle Frederick was said to dabble in after he dumped the country club membership and became disenchanted with golf. Nothing to worry about, at least for the time being.
I agree with you that both left and right have freaks and we should avoid generalizing based on the freaks alone. One problem I see with the freaks on the left is, that despite being the minority on their side, their tactics(cancel culture and violent protests/riots) coupled with the left’s domination of media and government bureaucracy has turned them into a powerhouse that seems unstoppable at times and therefore a bigger threat, especially when the political class on the left stands up for them constantly. The opposite could be said of the freaks on the right. Although, still a dangerous element, but because their side is definitely at a disadvantage when it comes to hands on the aforementioned levers of power, is not nearly as effective and much less relevant. Our daily lives are definitely more effected by what the freaks on the left are doing and I think this is what likely leads to the generalizations you speak of, especially towards those on the left.
Our first amendment freedom has definitely been affected with cancel culture for one. Two, the crime increases from the “defund the police” movement and similar movements like no cash bail that allows criminals back on the street within hours of being picked up. Draconian measures during COVID comes to mine including vaccine mandates. Climate change policies that don’t always make sense that have led to increases in energy costs, and therefore, pretty much everything else too. Those have all been instituted by the far left and they absolutely affect everyday living for just about everyone. If you have found haven that is exempt from this stuff, please share!
crime increases because defund the police. LMAO. there have been like 2 places where they slightly cut the fascist police budget, the rest, all hyperbole. period. but your convinced the hyperbole is real. got it
no, crime increases because oligarchy is taking more and more of everything, under rwnj deregulation and tax cuts for inbred trust fund piggies, and the more people suffer, the more crime there will be
you should read book man, turn off the moonbat rwnj bs, and think for yourself
Not a joke. The “defund the police” movement didn’t just affect budgets, albeit it did in some cases, it demoralized policemen and women all over the country, causing them to quite, retire early, or leave to go somewhere else. The lack of police in major cities around the country, which is well documented, has absolutely led to a huge spike in crime.
If you didn’t like or agree with the answers, you simply could have started a debate maybe. I’m all ears to listen and possibly learn. Just remember who started calling people names first. That typically is done by someone who lacks confidence and the intelligence to respond in a civilized manner. But, you gave yourself away when you called the police fascists.
All these actions, programs and policies from the hard left (and baby are they hard) are primarily to distract people like yourself from the vast networks of gulags being constructed north of the arctic circle. Hint: get out while you can. Recommendation: Honduras.
hard left? that comment itself, completely negates anything you have to say. pure bs. you know absolutely NOTHING about whats left or right, apparently convinced rwnj fascists, are "conservative". there is no hard left. period.
According to at least one former federal inmate, the prison guards deliberately encourage racial divisions among their prisoners, as this both distracts the inmates and makes them unable to unite against the guards.
Of course, "divide and rule" ever always only is limited to federal correctional institutions and our wise and benevolent rulers would never stoop to using this well-known tactic on us.
Since we appear to be living in some form of panopticon, adopting the strategy of prison guards makes total sense. The guards in a prison do it because they're outnumbered. Our leaders are also outnumbered. As Mark Blyth has said, "The Hamptons are not a defensible position."
Gangs organize themselves for protection and all kinds of other things. They're not just in prison even though they operate in prison. This is not just down to the guards
When the groups find common ground in denouncing the victimization of their cothinkers by police, the violence of the state apparatus, they are experiencing their common struggle as members of the working class against the capitalist state and its system of exploitation of ALL workers regardless of race.
Totalitarianism soup de jour, in other words. Check. And that Marxist class warfare narrative dried up when the proletariat entered the cushy middle class in the 50s. The Viet Nam conflict and race relations served as perfect substitutes, one could easily argue. "To all the kids in Red China!"
Commies have been overtaken by neo-Marxist identitarians. Your Proletariat is now a Persecuted Minority--mostly black people, but also women, homosexuals and the so-called "transgendered" . . . the entire alphabet soup represented on the increasingly ornate identitarian flag
Marcuse and others saw that Western material abundance was pervasive and only going to improve, so those in need of "liberation" became the racial minority oppressed by an inchoate, all-pervasive "systemic racism" (see I. Kendi and R. DiAngelo for details) which cannot be totally eradicated but which must be ferreted out at all times, with racists who confess to their racism in struggle sessions compelled to undergo re-education.
I would say that the Vietnam War was at least begun by US diplomatic obligations to France, which alienated Ho Chi Minh. Johnson escalated what Kennedy wanted to withdraw from, for reasons that are debatable, but the war was arguably one of the last disasters of the Cold War and ushered in the neo-Marxist identitarian era spearheaded by neo-Marxist university intelligentsia.
Precisely. I should have been more vociferous in my persuasion attempts to call out Marxist behavior. Every example you gave (I mentioned two: Viet Nam and racism) are further proof that the proletariat class struggle lost its luster over the years (read: the working class likes capitalism more than Marxism).
It just occurred to me that as manufactured identity conflicts are escalating, the standard of living is deteriorating, at least from what it was during our Golden Age (roughly 1945-1970).
Maybe we need a return to the good 'ol class struggle.
And the transition of Marxism from class struggle as a purposeful diversion into the Viet Nam conflict and racism substitutions, try (with citations for the conclusions drawn):
I'd start with the Daniel Horowitz autobiography, Radical Son. It's much more entertaining and cuts to the chase. "Red diaper babies" who have transitioned are quite enlightening. Hope that helps amplify my assertion albeit slightly. Suffice it to say, the proletariat uprising in America never completely materialized because...well, capitalism, quite simply.
There are disagreements on Marxism's original tenets being tied to the struggles of the proletariat to some degree but its pivot away from those tenets and into the usage of others--protesting the Viet Nam conflict and racism are just two examples--is generally accepted from what I've learned. It shouldn't be surprising that there are people who are committed to Marxism would try desperately to find a replacement for the proletariat class struggle that seem to have evaporated in the 1950s and beyond. The two examples that I provided are perfect pivot points for Marxists. The divisiveness that class struggles provide is the main thrust in pushing this particular ideology. What better substitutes than the two small examples that I gave are there? The answer that question might be beyond my talent stack. Who knows? Climate change? Election integrity? J6 insurrection fantasies? Marxism feeds on that kind of nonsense.
If a bunch of white people were walking down the street dressed and armed like that chanting "White power!" and anti immigrant slogans everyone including TK News would call them racist white supremacists. When black people do it why is it ok? So why is TK News not treating everyone the same? I think we know why. Taibbi doesn't want to spend the rest of his life hiding from this group and having the left wing loonies label him a racist just for reporting accurately.
The identitarian double standard. It's the same notion that makes it difficult to accuse anybody but white people of racism. Can you imagine someone like I. Kendi or Louis Farrakhan being called "racist"? Of course not, though they obviously are as racist as any KKK wannabe.
We must re-impose the correct definition of racism--an irrational hatred of people not of one's own race--not this "power + privilege" neo-Marxist bullshit.
The key words here are they "don't find common ground". That's the problem with many movements we see. They are fragmented and cannot lead to a real change, unfortunately.
Groups need not be agreed on everything if they are united on key important issues. It's good that they are discussing issues, didn't think that was still allowed?
It is so much easier with State Media painting pictures with broad stereotyped brushes obscuring nuance and detail. Maybe we should re-instate Smith Mundt and get State/CIA out of the media business?
Oh, of course, they do not have to completely agree on everything, this is not even possible. But I think we are missing an important component for a functional collaboration - an ability to compromise. It has completely gone from our political discourse on any level from local to national. The word has sort of become archaic. How can we achieve anything if we do not meet somewhere in the middle? Which means making concessions and agreeing on at least something or finding common ground.
It will take a general understanding of how the state in collusion with its media apparatus manufactures grievances. That and a complete discrediting of neo-Marxist identity politics.
Anarchism looks better with every passing week. Every man an island! Voluntary association only!
One can make time for this. I think it's a small minority of people who attend every single rally. But taking a weekend day, or one day off work, doesn't seem too difficult.
I think you should clarify that Marvin Guy is not being held without being charged (I was so shocked at that I clicked through to read the related article.). According to that he has been charged (capital murder) and is being held in lieu of bond. While 8 years is, agreed, an excessively long time to be held before trial, it is different than being held without being charged.
Matt I cannot understand why people want to suggest you are “red pilled”, a horribly stupid moniker of anyone, vs trying hard to fight the exact same overreach that leftists have always fought for. Have the leftists fell in love with their new corporate power overlords that pretend to support the issues they think are important but are actually the antithesis of what they were actually fighting for. Why not do a complete story on how this corporation of leftist agendas has actually moved them extensively to the right. Not conservative but to the far right???! The extreme right. Being on the right is not extreme. Being on the far right is extreme. Being a conservative is actually now being left. The flip has been incredible. This story, I believe is trying to illustrate this point. And you will be accused of supporting the far right not the disadvantaged. Amazing.
This is why I don't like using the terms conservative and progressive. They are relative terms to the prevailing politics of the day. People advocating for revolution or extensive changes are progressives, while people who caution more gradual and deliberate steps are conservative. Take the internet's favorite example, the Nazis. In 1930s Germany they were the progressives calling for revolution. Civil-liberties and anti-authoritarianism are not exclusive to progressives or conservative. They are key parts of Liberalism (aka classical liberals) and Libertarians. If someone doesn't support civil-liberties then they can't call themselves a Classic Liberal or Libertarian. They can still call themselves progressive since they believe "progress" is in the direction of infringement.
The terms "conservative" and "progressive", as used in contemporary US politics, only make sense in the context of contemporary US politics and its various alliances and marriages of convenience.
I have had this same argument for the last year. Conservatives and progressives are timing issues. Not who cares about people issues. Both approaches help and hurt people. Some items require a progressive approach and some a conservative approach and most of the time we are not sure which is better. But to your point, unfortunately, the USA ( ready, fire, aim; greatest country ever that helped shape a better world but could also kill it), are now using the same strength that made them great, that they over used sometimes to hurt us all, to hurtle us to facism. Either the left or right wing type. The fact that your country cannot understand they are doing the same thing that the Brazilian leader is doing amazes me. Your Ukrainian intervention combined with your South China Sea military operation are being widely ignored for what it is, should frighten the hell out of any liberal. But instead Matt is the enemy of progress. If these decisions by your govt are based on sanity then I would love to know what they are. Here is what we know they are not: an attempt to save democracy. So what are they. Something that could cause world war 3 and we don’t even know why. None of us is being told. And Europe and Canada where I am from are all in. While 5 billion people of the 7 billion are not. This is an amazing point in history that is being ignored entirely. And Matt is fighting on the fringes. Thank goodness but he is not screaming loud enough. Or perhaps he can’t. He is definitely doing more than me.
I'd like to point out that if a White person said about immigrants what the Black person said about immigrants, it would be all over the local and possibly national news. They would be denounced, de-monitized and de-platformed.
Focusing only on strategy and tactics without diving into grievance specifics, I wonder what either group imagines happening to further their causes(s). I’m disinclined to listen to people making demands absent some structure or strategy for achieving objectives. Yelling demands isn’t an effective strategy.
1. He hasn't had a trial in eight years because he causes his own delays. Linked story says his lawyers keep asking for delays, and then he changes legal teams, causing more delays. Covid also played a part by slowing down the system.
2. I want him to have his trial, because he may well be innocent of murder. No-knock warrants are so dangerous to cops and targets that Killeen Police banned them after this tragedy. If police burst into his place without announcement, he had every right to assume intruders and open fire. A trial will make the facts clear. He should let his lawyers get to work.
3. It's not remotely tedious to charge J6 seditionists with sedition. It's what the rule of law is about: charge criminals; take them to trial; send them home if exonerated; send them to jail if convicted.
4. Pelosi and Shumer didn't charged them with sedition. The Justice Department did.
5. It's "genius," not "genuis," but I'm sure that was a typo.
3. Like any other criminals, seditionists come in different flavors. The "real" seditionist of which you speak might have to be dispatched with a gun, not handcuffs.
4. Of course they accused them of it from a position of power. So does every other politician, Republican or Democrat. I wish they'd just shut up and let the courts do their work.
That's why I want the trial to start already. Capital murder may be a vast overcharge, but until we see actual facts and testimony, none of us know what actually happened that morning.
Agree on Gawd save us from the genius class, because they often outsmart themselves and hurt us in the process.

Yep - TPTB can’t afford to let them have a rational conversation - as they’d realize that they have the same peaceful goals, dreams for their children and disagree with 99% of the BS that’s being thrown at our population. And that’s extremely dangerous.
Thus the endless race and gender baiting by the "news" and all instruments of the Establishment.

freaks cause problems.
fake left freaks are no more dangerous or potent, than fake right freaks.

From the article linked to in the story:

2. As the article says and the public docket confirms, the DEFENSE has requested every postponement.
Really dishonest to say he is "being held without charges."

That was indeed amazing.
The FBI Allegedly Used At Least 12 Informants In The Michigan Kidnapping Case. Defense attorneys said they will argue that the FBI “induced or persuaded” the defendants to go along with the violent scheme. .... https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/jessicagarrison/fbi-informants-in-michigan-kidnap-plot
But I'm sure there were no agents on the ground on 1/6. Sure! 🙄
It's all rather tedious.
Appearing in public armed doesn't suggest being open to reason or seeking dialog.
