Yes, in a strange kind of way, Herb Alpert's sound epitomizes the 60s more than anyone one else... at least it does for me...
To me, it was upbeat, energizing. The lack of vocals allows the listener to embed their own thoughts into the music.
It would be interesting to play to a young audience today and see how they react. I think IтАЩll experiment on some young relatives. :)
