Twitter (or Musk himself) can ban you or me or anybody whose last name starts with B if they want. But US Government agencies forcing a company to do that same thing, is absolutely a different situation. One may have to grudgingly accept the first type, but certainly should be enraged about the second.
That is not what Musk was saying when he rationalized buying twitter. Same with his followers. So he lied and they lied.
Have you read Noam Chomsky's Manufactured Consent... Matt has interviewed Chomsky numerous times. Chomsky shows how the US government did the exact same thing with the NYT and WSJ and WAPO during Vitename, The Contra war and Iraq. Musks issue is nothing new. I'm not saying it is okay. But it is nothing new.
Twitter banning liberals is very different and proves Musk was LYING aboout why he wanted to buy the platform.

The government is not nor did they suppress free expression. Twitter is not the only media platform, not even close.
Twitter is doing what most Media does to get info / propaganda from the government. They cut a deal.

The fact that there are other avenues to express yourself has nothing to do with the fact that the US govтАЩt is (and has for a long time) involved itself in steering public dialog and thought (re: Chomsky). CEO's that are paying lobbyists to control the Law Makers that they face in congress are not facing coercion. They are practicing political theater.
My issue is not with the reporting of the Twitter files. It is good to report on this. But reporting on it with out providing context, like the way FOX gets its daily talking points from Republican Law makers or people in the CIA or the way NTY and WaPo ignore defense issues that the CIA tells them to ignore, is Partisan Hackery.

My issue is with the FACT that Musk and his fan boys were screaming for FREEDOM of Expression in justifying Musk buying the platform. Now that he owns it he is not increasing freedom of expression. he is merely shifting whow gets it and who does not.
And that his hypocrisy. But calling out musk maybe a dozen times on his hypocrisy is what got me banned form Twitter. So there is that.
