My experiences thru life has been my understanding that very few people exercise initiative. Given all the authority or “empowerment” they still refuse to make a difference. My metaphor has always been very few initiate but everyone has the authority to say no.
I remember saying no for the first time to wearing a mask at Costco during the early stages of the lockdowns. I waved them off like declining a hit at the blackjack table. Or just said “no thanks”…The greeter dude didn’t know how to handle it. I got the stink eye from other customers too. It was weird. Like I was in that movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” 😂
The awesome power of No is something than can never be taken away. 😀
