Personally, I'd find it even funnier if Acosta kicked Michael's ass. Acosta is not in my life, but the obnoxious Michael is ruining my once-favorite podcast.
I am so disappointed with all this. I bought this subscription just a couple weeks before the Taibbi/Kirn split because I enjoyed their discussions so much. And this is what I get: some dude who interrupts every sentence airing his high school level grievance against some other minor player, with no discussion of anything that actually matters.
I found Michael abrasive at first, but I've gotten over it and frankly I found Walter borderline crazy at times. But I liked both of them. My mother, a writer, described such people as elephants who want to play--powerful, smart, able to wound, but interesting. That's both Michael and Walter, in very different ways. Matt deserves kudos for partnering with two very different people whom, I suspect, he thinks are both a bit smarter than he is, and more domineering than he is. It takes guts and intelligence to do that.
Are you really going to spend time on this? What Tracey did at a party is not “Today’s News”. And while I’m at it, please drop the Pedo Party line. It may have been funny once, but we’re not in 6th grade anymore.
Exactly. I looked at Tracey’s X post to get his perspective and saw he called Accosta a piece of shit. That’s the best you can do as a writer? Playground taunts? Tracey is a child. Matt, take the hint. Dump him. Or risk getting dumped in droves.
You know what? Matt apparently likes it this way. He keeps repeating the tired pedo party gag, he finds Michael hilarious, and despite mocking the self-obsessed blogosphere, is willing to waste a show on Michael's personal feuds.
Tracey was pretty drunk and was probably loud but hey, it's a party. I would be willing to bet a lot of money there is no evidence of anybody screaming at all.
Matt and Michael, just an observation from my particular viewpoint, but I liked how the guest Justin Young changed the way the two of you interact and behave, and both of your observations. I encourage you to have more guests. It worked extremely well.
One of the points of completely absurd scurrilous charges is the debunking.
Because for 99% of the population, all they hear is "Trump, Epstein, and pedophile" in the same sentence repeated...over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. (no copy and paste was used here, purely for pain)
And let's be perfectly clear--No one believes a word of any of this except the next assassin.
And here we are again.
And that is exactly the point of all of this. To agitate the most mentally ill in our society to violence against chosen targets.
And it works very very well.
Just so the "debunkers" understand what the game is and what their role is here--Matt and Micheal need to consciously decide if the way they want to make money is by summoning mentally ill assassins for the purge.
Curiosity and morality has been weaponized--and you should make damn sure you aren't one of the mentally ill being summoned to action.
I'd also like to know more about the party. The news from last night that matters most over the long haul might be Substack having these kinds of "celebrity" after parties.
This ought to be an interesting episode. I watched all of Tracey's Saturday videos and was vicariously introduced to Justin Robert Young as a result. He seems to be a fairly even-keeled fellow.
I thought this was a very funny episode. I didn't hear or read anything about Tracey's near scuffle, so I thought it was amusing to hear his story. And I liked Justin Young's input too.
I especially liked the part when it was pointed out that journalists talking about hiding underneath the tables during the shooting sounded like letters to Penthouse Forum. Not that I ever read those things, mind you...
If any of you guys get into boxing matches with other journalists, just remember...you don't have to beat anyone, you just have to go the distance with them.
Tracey is now a hero.
Acosta chickening out is even better than Michael knocking him out. 😂😂

I guess get used to it. I have no seen Racket offer a refund to annoyed subscribers.
You are not wrong.

Who cares about the Big Egos’ stupid wars with each other?

FACT CHECK: "It may have been funny once"
False. Five pinocchios.
This episode was hilarious.
I liked it too:)
I guess Matt has found a different audience.
Brown claims Tracy was "screaming". Tracey says Acosta was "screaming". I wonder if anybody was actually "screaming" or just had their voices raised.

I think Racket is jumping the shark.
Well, I enjoyed the run, especially when the Twitter Files were breaking, and Matt and Walter were doing ATW together.
I tuned into tonight. A whole episode on Tracey v. The World. Wow.
Why tune in? I've given up.
The funny thing is, Tracey and Young were both ejected from the venue. With that in mind, go look at Robert Malone's post today: https://www.malone.news/p/why-substack-hates-malone-news
Matt, were you invited to the party? Was it invitation only?
I'd also like to know more about the party. The news from last night that matters most over the long haul might be Substack having these kinds of "celebrity" after parties.
Not an encouraging sign for the platform.
It wasn't exactly an "after" party. Apparently there are a number of similar events during the week of the White House Correspondents Dinner.
Are they all invite only?
Beats me.

"Step outside" is teen-age BS. I'm not too interested in parsing who said what.
If somebody as weak as Jim Acosta publicly challenges you to a fight, you are obligated by honor to deliver a blow to his face, including women.
Re: Michael Tracey and Jim Acosta -- journalists should avoid being the story. Stick to being a byline.

Today's episode was virtually Taibbi-free. And that's a shame.
Yessssssssssss can’t wait
Jim Acosta swooping in to save Brown like he’s Tuxedo Mask is class.
Acosta - accosting the accosters. I would like to see Tracey put him in a full Nelson.
