Gabbard made it clear she was only against the regime change wars, but was a hawk against terrorists, so that nuance would have allowed her some wiggle room in promoting some wars which she could define as against terrorists.

There were times when I felt she was a straight shooter, and others when I detected some political game playing and parsing, and, as I remember, she did pledge to support the Dem nominee regardless, a disqualifier for me.

So she is also wary of Western Christian imperialism, I suppose. As for the limits of leftist kumbaya foreign policy, perhaps a bit of self reflection on our rightwing, militaristic policies throughout the world , especially in the ME, from overthrowing the govt. in Iran in 1953, our endless support of Muslim despots, the funding of Islamic fundamentalists in Afghanistan to give the USSR their Vietnam, our supporting Hussein once Iran fell after the Shah was deposed, (the man we installed after the 1953 coup), our helping both sides in the Iran Iraq war, our invasion of Iraq which set the stage for more Iranian influence in Iraq, our regime change in Libya that destabilized a prosperous country, our attempted regime change in Syria, brought about as a way to counter the rising influence given Iran by our 2003 invasion of Iraq. would be in order, or perhaps they were all stunning successes which we should continue.

Of course, we should withdraw militarily from the Middle East. Africa too in my opinion.

but that there region ain't evolved its civilization in 1200 years, there ain't no blaming that on Western Civ or the Jews.

It's past time for the barbarians to review their basic beliefs.

Unless you refuse to call them out because you think they possess an IQ so low it does not allow for them to evolve.

I don't think so. I think the fact that they are all trying to escape their home countries in such desperation indicates they want to evolve their culture.

Maybe we shouldn't skim the intellectual excellence their culture produces off the top.

You underestimate the sophistication of the "blaming mechanisms" developed by certain sectors of society.

I dinnt think so... there ain't one to be had, although Eric Weinstein sez there are quite a few very intelligent scientists making contributions who have come up and out from the Muslim cultures.

And of course, we have the brilliant, beautiful and brave, Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
