This is that Twitter thread that makes way, way more sense than the New York Times.

Really, if we're at a place in our culture that a French cartoon skunk - that quixotically thinks he's the world's greatest ladies man, and is played totally for laughs - can be called a pillar of "rape culture" in what once was a great newspaper, there is something seriously wrong with our culture. Someone (or a really big collective of "someones") needs to learn to lighten up and take a damn joke, the way a child can.

Thank you! The clips in the thread are wonderful. Still hilarious, one of their most clever characters

Yes! Let's let all just relax and let things that are funny (like Looney Tunes) just be funny, and things that are sweet and charming and clever (like Seuss) just be sweet and charming and clever.

If you go looking for problems in everything, you're sure to find them. and you're not just robbing yourself of enjoyment, but the whole world of enjoyment. What I'd say to certain fun-challenged New York Times opinion writers: if you don't like it, go write your own children's books or your own cartoons about a skunk who's always a perfect gentleman. It doesn't even have to be fun or funny or clever at all!
