It, like the 40 beheaded babies (original report was up to 40 babies murdered, some reportedly beheaded, not 40 beheaded babies), got caught up in a game of telephone, eventually leading to Naftali morphing into a "top advisor" to Netanyahu. As far as I am aware, Naftali was the only source of this "initial response."
