Not sure about the each month but assume w e borrow to pay interest. At the turn of this century the US federal debt to GDP ratio was 55%, now it 122%. CC debt is almost $1.3 trillion or $8,021 per holder. US total debt is $103.7 trillion and climbing by the second. In addition to fed spending, much of the culprit is money supply. In 2000 it was under $5 trillion now its $20 trillion. Healthcare cost in 2000 $5.5k, now $14.5 k. https://www.usdebtclock.org/

Then throw the Treasury bonds and lack of interest therein into the mix.
