These rules are punishing. No one who complies rigorously will wake up tomorrow with an intact liver.

Or wake up at all.

Thank heavens I've worked on my tolerance for several decades now.

Remember to not discriminate against minority intoxicants and alcohol of color.

Be ombibulous.

"Democracy is also a form of worship. It is the worship of Jackals by Jackasses. It is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

Won't be watching, voted with my wallet long ago and cancelled cable. I will, however, be drinking.

Friends, despite all of our hopes that "our team wins", let's hope there isn't cheating. Let's hope that Democracy gets a fair shake. Let's hope that the true voice of the system (EC) and the people (PV) are represented by the outcome. And remember, if "your team" wins keep in mind that at least 40% of this country didn't vote for "your team".

And last, let's pray for no violence.

pretty predictable. this "election's" primary job (successful): eliminate any delusions of US legitimacy.

press as many emo-buttons as possible, create triggered snowflakes on the fake L and fake R, divide and conquer. #Winning

Real "eye of the tiger" stuff, projected in our brains, like Jim Carey's batman "Joker" brainbox.

Meanwhile, generational inbred wealth, (google Charles II of Spain) inheritance-birth-lottery-winners indoctrinated by a lifetime of privilege, and trust in Dominionist notions, continues to CANNIBALIZE what's left of the US failed state carcass.

#PlantationLife - we live our lives as someone else's property: a permanent revenue stream of usury (unearned income). By incrementally suppressing wages, increasing costs, privatizing and monopolizing resources, the people are left to wander the modern bleak desert, as Super Corrupt and unaccountable Oligarchs and their vasal governments, dance on your grave

<3 i like to try to create hashtags, that get a point across, short and sweet, in this age of 2 second attention spans. leverage the <insert hobby> life memes we see.. like salt life, etc

my alternative to that is :

#HostLife - The people have been turned into "hosts" (a food source - rent payers) for the 1% inbred parasites (leeches - rent collectors) by the re-establishment of the "West Virginia Coal Mine Experience"™ (circa 1900).

By incrementally monopolizing necessities (food, water, shelter, utilities), by debt expansion, and by wage suppression: we now work in their company "mines" (cube farms, whatever), live in their company housing (mortgage), shop in their company store (credit card debt), pay MONOPOLY prices for necessities.

Literally, cradle to grave slavery to a small collection of "Nanny" Transnational Corporations (all owned at the top by a handful of globalist banksters)

but Im afraid folks just don't get the hoist - parasite metaphor

I could read the disappointment on Matt’s face when Katie invited Marianne. And when she started talking about turning points in corporate spirituality, I could see why.

Oh and let's just call the consistent polls showing Biden ahead +10 nationally for the entire cycle what they are : MSM voter suppression tools.

Expand full comment

Obvious explanation is that Trump voters don’t give info to the pollsters who they suspect of part of deep state. Anyway, why would those poll projects suppress reds over blues? Complacency is the enemy of turnout.

So is dejection. Telling one side they don't have a chance can suppress turnout too.

I was talking with my wife (a naturalized U.S. citizen who leans Democrat but is also aware of how destructive this two-party system is becoming) and my mom (a native-born U.S. citizen and a staunch Republican) tonight, and it's painful to see how two people who know and love each other have completely different opinions about what's happened in the past four years and what'll happen if their side doesn't win this election. I admit that I'm concerned more about a Democrat bait-and-switch (campaigning on "let's get back to business as usual" only to veer hard left when they're in power) then I'm concerned about another season of "The Trump Show" (which is more bark than bite in my opinion). Trump certainly deserves to lose - he didn't add anyone new to his political coalition (though where I live in Florida there's apparently a lot of newfound Hispanic/Latino support), he alienated support from within his political coalition by turning out to be a conventional Republican, and he mobilized massive political opposition from previous apolitical demographics - but nevertheless, a part of me is sad at seeing "the Revenge of the Swamp" that is Biden-Harris. I mean, let's be clear, this isn't progress: This is rolling the clock back to the status quo ante Trump, though with some things even worse than they were before (like the neocons rehabilitating themselves as freedom-fighters and truth-tellers thanks to "The Resistance.")
