I never knew I was addicted to this show until this week.

Kathleen McCook's avatar

I always do some work tasks and now how will I get them done?

cottonkid's avatar

Yeah, I just didn't do them. Whole family's wondering why there's a week's worth of dishes and laundry piled up everywhere.

OBOB's avatar

I had no clean bottoms to wear today, was putting off laundry 🧺 no shorts no pants, had to wear worn ones after my shower

OBOB's avatar

Finally just did laundry, figured can’t stall any longer 😂

Sarah Geissinger's avatar

Same. I actually listened to Walter on Megan Kelly to get a hit.

Not the same.

Patricia M Kane's avatar

Megan is smart, but has a nasty edge and is too light on facts and information. No in the Dynamic Duo’s class at all.

MG's avatar

I think she's awesome - great businesswoman and super smart.

Dyanna's avatar

Like Megyn too. But her gossipy stuff - not so much.

MG's avatar

Yeah, who cares about celebrity stuff. I did love her spoof on Megan Markel tho, that was pretty hysterical.

Beeswax's avatar

And the lady astronauts thing. Hysterical. It deserves some kind of prize.

DougFresh's avatar

You can also catch Walter on Gutfeld. He really shines there.

Dyanna's avatar

Walter shines wherever he goes. Up levels the intelligence quotient no matter what show.

Jim M's avatar

Not me. She's basically a mirror image of Kara Swisher. Smart, sassy etc etc...but ultimately her cattiness takes away from my respect for her. I catch her stuff once in a while, but I can't handle that on a regular basis.

Dyanna's avatar

Well said. Agreed. Detest the nasty and gossipy stuff. (Which tends to be one in the same).

Love's avatar

I did this too 🤣

Søren's avatar

So true. Actual withdrawal symptoms!🤣

Søren's avatar

Is there a 12 step for this? “I’m Soren, and I’m addicted to Matt and Walter…”

Sara Carter's avatar

that's so cute: me, too. 84 y.o.lady in North Carolina

OBOB's avatar

I hope this is real 😊

BananaSam's avatar

Reality hunger. (Great book by the title, too, btw.)

Frank A's avatar

Same here. I'm going to start reading Walter's writings.

To those who've read him: any suggestions? Thanks

Mark Darling's avatar

I read Lost In The Meritocracy, Blood Will Out, and Up In The Air. I enjoyed Blood the most of those three, every page filled with razor sharp insights. Honestly, I could say the same of all three, but Blood was the most fearlessly self-searching, I thought.

Frank A's avatar

Thanks very much! It sounds like I'll start with Blood as that is what I admire most about Walter.

Virg's avatar

I have read all of his books and they are all great. All different, too. Pick any of them and you will be hooked.

Dyanna's avatar

If you don't already subscribe to County Highway, would def recommend that.

DTG's avatar

Read all Walter's books (they're short and he writes like he talks).

Mark Blair's avatar

Walter's short story "Finishing" is excellent, and I think about it a lot.

Increasingly relevant.

Charles Williams's avatar

Well, said, Drippy G. I’m truly surprised as well. Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone? 🎸 I knew I liked the show, but I thought I was just chipping — I thought I was just a recreational user.

Tyler's avatar

Same. Possibly the only piece of content look forward to

Mark Darling's avatar

I did. And I should have known when Walter didn't tweet this week's short story that I wasn't gonna get my fix.

Marilyn F's avatar

Hahaha! I knew I was addicted.

JJ's avatar

My drives will be quiet and dull

Sarah A C's avatar

Same! It is my go-to in the car here in Los Angeles and I was frantically searching for an episode thinking I was going crazy.

Randy Hujar's avatar

Me too, I think I am showing withdrawal symptoms lol.

Ken D.'s avatar

just don't cut out the typewriter SFX

Nick's avatar

It's our Pavlovian cue. We need that damn typewriter intro hey...

Ken D.'s avatar

plus, its a job for the typist

Ken D.'s avatar

My fear is that Matt and Walter will go off on some sort of a DOGE tangent and fire the typist.

John R. Grout's avatar

Shades of “TWX in 12 Bars”, the “Wall Street Week” theme. The show’s address was Owings Mills, Maryland 21117. [OMG I remembered the zip code! That was like me remembering the introduction of Ethel and Fred in “I Love Lucy”… an aural hallucination]

joanna's avatar

Yes definitely.keep the typewriter intro sounds!!

Deadbrand's avatar

Agreed. Please keep it.

alpinelake's avatar

Love the typewriter!!

Sherrie Wise's avatar

I love that typewriter.

JamesEhrlichmanReinhardKoenig's avatar

Now that you mention it, I don't really care about the show at all, it was the typewriter all along.

Escaped to Mexico's avatar

Please, for the love of all things bright and cheerful and sane, keep the short story. You've hooked me on reading again (well County Highway has something to do with that too). We so appreciate what you do!

Ellen Evans's avatar

Yes!!! A thousand times yes.

I need my Matt and Walter non-bedtime story! Jonesing, seriously jonesing today . . .

P.S. - sent anyone a postcard from Mexico recently? VBG

Teresa MacPhail's avatar

Just want to make sure you are ok!!! Take care!!

TruthCanHurt23's avatar

It's all good, Matt. You don't need to call in sick to us. 😊

John F OMalley's avatar

That’s quite all right!! You two have been so busy, and there is so much to catch up on, it’s good that you took a pause!! Dont work yourself too much. Enjoy your very well deserved rest!!!

Art's avatar

Always make health and family your priorities gentlemen. It’s all about a sustainable pace. Appreciate your work but everything in context…

Jim M's avatar

FIRST! LOL (I'm such a jerk)

Sure, as a loyal Boomer w/no kids, both my wife & I have built our Mondays (esp b/c it's live) and our Fridays around your pods. However...

Pushing out that volume of content is exhausting. Believe me, I know- I'm an Indie author (doing well, thanks) and you gotta put out a minimum of 4 novels a year. Some of my collagues do one every month to six weeks. It's a grind, man.

Do the best you can, and don't be afraid to hand off to good people. You're building some kinda crazy network, you know; so don't be afraid to bring other people in as relief pitchers.

I'd rather have a healthy Matt/Walter less times than a burned out/ill M&W more regularly.

Have a great weekend everyone! (Oops...it's a holiday weekend up here in Canada-stan; where 1/3 of the population couldn't tell you just what the hell Victoria Day means...)

Glitterpuppy's avatar

It’s when Queen Victoria went to Canada to whip you dudes in shape…. See, I know…

Jim M's avatar

NOT egg-zackly buddy! LOL

But hey, at least ya took a run at it!

Oh, as one old fart to another... I have two throw pillows on my couch that read:

"It's NOT dog hair,

IT'S PUG GLITTER!"

Great minds think alike...

Glitterpuppy's avatar

Pug glitter! We have had the little darlings and boy what a hair bomb they are.

Tristan J Pinnock's avatar

So you’ve been acquired by Disney and the parts of Walter and Matt have been recast with a black lesbian and a Latino/a trans woman.

This happens to all my favorite shows!!!

Ellen Evans's avatar

Suddenly I feel the urge to break out the crucifix, make a necklace of garlic, load my always-handy six-gun with some silver bullets, and keep a wooden stake or two within reach.

Funny, but very, very scary. Hope that doesn't prove an inadvertent "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!"

Tony Mic's avatar

Just keep going Matt and Walter. Keep this conversation between you two, Alive and Breathing. It almost always reveals hidden Truth™️. I appreciate you both. Godspeed.🙏💯

Ellen Evans's avatar

Don't alter it too much. It ain't broke and doesn't need fixing.

Humming, "Don't change a hair for me, not if you care for me. . ."

But I'm sure it will stay wholly worthwhile.

Meanwhile, be well or get well, whichever applies at the moment.

Aaron James's avatar

Whatever you do, please don’t cut out the short story portion!

Lisa's avatar

Agree! I wasn't a short story reader until ATW. It is now one of the best parts of my week!

Aaron James's avatar

They’ve discussed so many great ones that I never would’ve even heard of, let alone read, if not for them

Brandy's avatar

No worries. I dont mind adjusting and the only thing Im asking you two not to change is yourselves. I like your questioning, cynical, rational and hopeful mind and Walter's psychic, indignant, hilarious reading of people and situations.

Mary Orlowski McFerson's avatar

Thank you for the update, Matt. My week was not the same without ATW. 😞I look forward to changes you deem worthy. Trust your gut and take good care of yourself!

Evans W's avatar

Look forward to it Matt. You and Walter are national treasures!

You don't hate the media enough - you think you do, but you don't. https://x.com/Evans_Wroten

Обломов's avatar

Get well and come back! We miss you!

Mike's avatar

Can I help with anything? I need my ATW fix.

Glitterpuppy's avatar

Yes. Send money. Love, Matt and Walter

Don Reed's avatar

05/16/25: Why not re-watch the previous episodes?

OBOB's avatar

I know it’s like what do you need from me to keep this going? 😂 babysitter, everyone to do the $250/account, less complaining in the comments, narrators??
