Rural America doesn’t need urban America to survive, only to thrive. Urban America starves to death without power without rural America within the month. Also, it’s not really rural vs urban but blue collar vs white collar. And in the end too many ppl in white collar America take for granted that blue collar America delivers them their food, electricity, and housing. White collar America believes men and women are interchangeable, blue collar America knows better.

“Schaller and White Rural Rage co-author Paul Waldman make the same point, that “cities produce far more of the nation’s wealth,” and rural citizens are increasingly “subsidized by the taxes paid by higher-income metropolitans.” What gives? Why won’t they shut the fuck up?”

Urban cities produce wealth like Facebook and rural areas produce wealth like food.

As for the genius of the professional managerial class, an academic paper demonstrating that current university students have an average IQ of 102 has pissed off the establishment and is being held up in review. They’re all above average in Lake Woebegone.

This is really the core of it.

It is interesting how those of the high-minded intelligentsia class are missing the many cues that "the university," as they know it, is on a trajectory to obsolescence.

Kind of ironic, Facebook was created from stolen property of two other students.

People who live and move and have their being in virtual reality (and are more likely to be urban and white collar) are also more likely to believe all sorts of nonsense, so long as it is widely approved by their peers in digital-land. People whose livelihood depends on understanding and accepting the unyielding realities of conception, birth, death, the hardness of wood, the sharpness of steel, the heat of the sun, are less easily snookered.

Haha Lynne! I was made aware of an Oberlin student (they had some kind of queer agenda that I don’t recall) anyway they needed a plumber to come in for the toilets in the dorms and she/he complained that a “toxic” male made her feel stressed and uncomfortable.

🤦‍♀️ what to do??

I think it is going to be hard to automate plumbers.

I think about rural Americans savng cities during natural disasters like floods or hurricanes. Men in boats rescuing other men who probably can't change a tire or jump start a car.
