<<Even though I have never been a fan of Trump's style, each day, compared to those who constantly attack him, I think he looks better than the alternatives.>>
You and I are kind of on the same page there. I wound up having a higher opinion of the dude when he left office than when he came in.

...it's still not a high opinion, but everyone's entitled to their own. Limbo lower now.
Yeah, I was pretty skeptical when Trump won, and while he didn't address some issues the way I would have preferred, he did some pretty good stuff. As I have said before, one thing that makes Trump look pretty good is his predecessors were really lousy.
As a Christian I don't only vote for people who claim to be Christians. I've seen a lot of lousy "Christian" politicians and I've seen a few non-Christian politicians who were right for the job. Political office is a secular position, it doesn't require a super saint or a Mr/Ms Manners to be an effective elected official.
I have to admit, watching evangelical leaders like Franklin Graham or the singer Michael W Smith go out of their way to “anoint” and justify the enthusiastically secular mammon whore Trump is both amusing and pathetic, it is the right wing equivalent of the current Pope going all in on environmental leftism.
Can't say I've ever heard of the Smith bloke, but occasionally see headlines about Franklin. I think he is known for some good efforts in humanitarian aids of one type or another but I couldn't cite any specifics.
However, if ya think about it, Brother Graham and Tovarishch Taibbi are two peas in a pod. They both followed their father's footsteps, each trying in their own way to persuade others to pay heed too their particular take on the divergent subjects they attempt to tackle.
Are you suggesting that anyone who is involved in politics - and the two you name above certainly are - isn't a whore? I'd love to have that person pointed out to me.

<<Sad, ain't it?>>
Yes.

That's the real American Way, All In The Family!
Good point about following in their fathers footsteps-Graham and Taibbi have both done so honorably in their careers.

Not sure what you are asking. When religion and politics intersect-no matter the ideology-the potential for hypocrisy is almost assured.
