You and he can say you hate it as much as you want but if you advocate for it as well, then you and he would obviously be lying about hating it. BTW - This applies to any side of the political spectrum. People on the Right can engage in cancel culture as well, although, it is typically to prove to the Left how destructive the thing they unleashed on the world is. But it is still cancel culture.

I take that to refer to persecution, loss of jobs and opportunities and so forth, on the basis of opinions about a person/victim expressed online, often on Twitter. I hate that phenomenon because it is justice of the mob, which is no justice at all.
