There was not a PEEP of protest from the Left as the fascist Progressives rampaged through all the United States' institutions. It is only now that they are also targets that all this "concern" is appearing. Sucks to finally feel the heat, eh?

Incorrect. You apparently do not read leftist independent journalism, where these things have been pointed out from the get-go. And it is not "progressives" alone who have rampaged through the US's civil liberties--it is mainstream Democrats and Republicans.
It is all the writing and talking that reflects the problem, no matter how good the criticisms. The labor movement got crushed and meaningful political movement got excised out of politics and now we are drowning in do-nothing, change nothing, self-hating, I-gotta-get-my-tits-cut off insanity.

This piece pretty well encapsulates the problem, and it's not even a left-wing publication, though it is a left-wing writer: https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/roe-fable-progressive-neoliberalism
