That's the logic I would expect from a member of the current Democratic Party. Still talking down to/blaming Republicans for the bizarre totalitarianism of the Democrats. I have a hard time taking this author seriously.
That's a fair point. It's like denouncing the police, then getting angry at them for not responding to your needs quickly enough. Despite it all, she remains a committed Democrat, yet it's the Republican party's fault for not reigning in Democrat excesses. Kara might want to continue to flesh out her thinking around that.
I believe her point is that both parties, each in its own special way, have betrayed women. We all know what the GOP has done to women's reproductive rights but hardly anyone is aware that House Dems have already passed a bill called the Equality Act, legislation that would give men who self id as women, without having to meet ANY hormonal or surgical requirements, legal precedence over the rights of actual biological women, who will cease to exist in any legally distinct sense. Make no mistake: If this bill is passed by the Senate and signed by Biden, it WILL erase the existence and the rights of biological women. One need only look at California, where the law has already been changed to accommodate the "feelings" of trans identified men over the feelings and rights of women.
This all started with Obama, I'm sad to say. In 2007, he gave a speech in which he promised to codify Roe on his first day in office. In 2009, he dismissed the idea, saying it was "not a legislative priority". In 2014, he began to covertly prioritize trans rights.
Women voters must demand more options at the ballot box.
