Great show. I appreciate the detail. I'm really sick of our media environment creating cartoon versions of both Russia and Iran. Always important to be informed so that we can place ourselves in their shoes. I've got to think Putin is pissed.

Agree with the cartoon version put out by both media and politicians.

We can clearly see that both Putin and Iranian leaders have demonstrated remarkable restraint over the past several years.

I’m glad to hear from someone who is actually concerned about the threat of nuclear annihilation. It’s very strange, having grown up during the 60’s, seeing so many current “leaders” scoff at the idea that Russia might finally get enough of our stupid provocations, and hit the button.

There are entire shelves of science fiction novels based on the premise that we did succeed in destroying most of the planet with a nuclear exchange. Nowadays, people just give me a hearty “Okay, boomer,” if I raise the possibility.

I feel like every day, I have to determine whether we’re ruled by retards, or by psychopaths.

Sadly, I think it’s both.

The whack Putin story certainly has some big holes in it. So, a swarm of drones are allegedly shot down, and the Russian military displays one seemingly undamaged piece of electronics as proof? I'd walk in there with a frggin Hefty bag full of blowed up stuff, and dump it on the table, "Here's your shit. Stick it where the Sun don't shine!"

Maybe a lot of Russian exaggeration going on? Maybe The Comedian is just taking advantage of it to taunt Putin? Maybe Trump knew nothing about it, but he doesn't like to be seen as not knowing what's going on, so he improvised?

Iran's uranium enrichment activities are the only reason I'm okay (sort of) with the war. This is the 3rd time by my count that Iran's activities have been stopped, and both times before they just stuck up the middle finger and went right back to doing it. That speaks volumes to me. I believe the only reason Trump hasn't laid waste to Iran is because he possesses human compassion. Something that's been lacking at the high levels for quite some time. The world should be grateful.

I like how you guys give background info on the CIA listening posts in Ukraine. That NYT article is bonkers, in the way it tries to sugar coat the Ukraine/Russia/CIA relationship.

I wonder if replacing Tulsi Gabbard with Pulte and the rumored upcoming purge have anything to do with this.

I wouldn't hang too much on the endless trolling of war propaganda.

Truth is the first casualty of war and we are perpetually at war. So that worked out well.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Matt & Matt Show. Thanks, gents! And I finally get to see it in reliable print and amazingly, only referred to in an off-handed way -> NATO had built listening bases along the Russia-Ukraine border! I had always believed that to be true, and the direct cause of Putin's invasion, but I had never seen it in reliable print. Imagine what would happen if it was discovered that Russia or China was building covert listening bases across Canada with Canadian support, and were also doing covert ops that targeted Americans?

Those "missiles" from the US and EU that were used to bomb Russia from Ukraine? Those were much more than that. Some were relatively new complex missile systems that required much training to acquire the ability to safely and effectively use them. In other words, those "missiles" arrived in Ukraine with planeloads of equipment AND trained personnel. At about 54 minutes it occurred to me that Ukraine is really just a place for world powers to blow up existing bombs so that they can make new bombs. And the Goldfish joke is certainly a dark hoot. It's almost embarrassing to laugh!

Someone is going to regret this idea, like the bridge did in Baltimore.

Thanks for an enlightening discussion by two moderate, non-partisan, informed thinkers about dangerous geopolitical shenanigans.
