Did you see the piece on CNN's website yesterday which attempted to argue that the lockdowns didn't actually happen? Much of the article was quibbling over the meaning of the term "lockdown". They are still trying to re-write the history.
Matt and Matt, this is a story that the deeper you get into the rat hole, the more sinister it gets.
IMHO, I will hypothesize that there was no lab leak and that the Wuhan market was not an amplification. It was all intentional and planned.
The research was intended from the very beginning to develop a series of bio-weapons with their antidote vaccines, ready to be used against any population that did not submit to the arrogant will of the elites that funded and controlled the scientists.
Who are the elites? Call it the Cabal, Banksters, Colonial Banksters like the Rothschilds, the WEF and even an alliance with the CCP.
The virus was initially developed at UNC and John Hopkins, sent to be finalized by 2014 as an effective its weapon at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and selected to be used against the United States and the Trump administration. It did not escape the lab to the Wuhan wet market. It was packaged, sent back to the United States via Canada and intentionally released in the US and other countries.
The wet market story was carefully developed and executed at the behest of the CCP and Chairman Xi to have evidence of plausible deniability for the deaths of millions.
This is a story of academic arrogance and treason. Pure and Simple murder of millions to further treason for an insurgency against Trump and the MAGA movement by arrogant insurgents.
That's why Fauci has pleaded the Fifth. He is trying to save himself and others to avoid being hanged for treason.
Fauci should be yelled at by passers by, airport luggage handlers, runners and restaurant workers for the rest of his shitty life. I want him to have no peace. Ever.

Explain the logic behind wearing a Medicare for all t-shirt while on a podcast discussing how the government’s medical establishment made us sick and lied about it?

“In 2022, Valentin Bruttel and Tony Van Dongen noticed an unusual pattern in the SARS-CoV-2 genome. Two of the most popular bioengineering scissors used to make reverse genetics systems - BsaI and BsmBI - appear to cleave the SARS-CoV-2 genome into 6 segments, and this would make for a highly efficient reverse genetics system. SARS-CoV-2 appears to a bioengineer like an IKEA virus, as if someone had already put time into making sure it could be easily assembled with readily available tools.
“We quantified the odds of this pattern appearing in nature and wrote a paper documenting the endonuclease fingerprint in the genome of SARS-CoV-2. Not only is the spatial arrangement of these cutting/pasting sites highly unusual, but the mutations that move them around are exclusively the mutations bioengineers used in prior work, and the concentration of these “silent” mutations is 8-9 times higher within these moved-around stitching sites compared to the rest of the genome. This analysis led us to our theory of a synthetic origin of SARS-CoV-2 by 6-segment assembly, using the enzymes BsaI and BsmBI. The IKEA virus can be ordered in 6 parts and using only the screwdriver of BsaI and allen wrench of BsmBI, you can put the parts together with ease.”

Please include the difference between gain of function as a technical term vs gain of function as a layman's term.
It seems once it is established that the technical term guards against the many legal consequences, the discussion around the laymans term can happen more clearly.
Fauci’s legalistic definition is neither the technical nor the common sense definition. The loopholes in it are “likely” and “human”. Even then I would argue that he violated even his own gerrymandered definition. The virus by design infected mammals that are used as a model for the human immune system.
The story of Louis Sloton at Los Alamos seems to have many parallels with Fauci. Two different labs, yet weak protocols exercised at both. Lois used a screwdriver to lift the lid of a plutonium core. Fauci directed funding to a lab with known weaknesses, yet had cost effieciency. This said, Lois didn't lie about wet markets (as the source). Fauci tells us in his diary the virus was likely leaked from the lab but amplified by the wet markets. Two different scientists that had disregard for protocols. Interesting.
Great discussion, both Matts. I especially liked it when Bivens compared Bird Flu to Sauron. I was a big Tolkien fan in my younger days, but now I'm more into Lovecraft, so these days I would have gone with Cthulhu. I also liked Robert E. Howard, so maybe I could have also gone with Xaltotun instead.

CNN is also claiming "the evidence" shows Covid did NOT come from a lab.
It depends on the definition of the word 'is'.
I can see how one may question the meaning of a basic, and most used, verb. It could become most convenient and effective in discussions. :-)
The EVIDENCE becomes ever-clearer. At some point it becomes SAFE TO DRAW A FINAL CONCLUSION.
