That is one of the things I love about your work Matt. Honesty and true character. You do your homework and if an error slips through you print the correction in the same bold type as the original story.
There's an article on the Harvard professor who was enrolled in China's One Thousand Talents Program and who was receiving about $750,000 annually from China and doing work at WUT.
Working at Wut's UP what could possibly be significant.
A- His 1,000 Talents enrollment agreement included his commitment to work for the "Best interests of China", without anything about so long as it did not conflict with the interests of the US
B-He was the head of Harvard's Biology Department and working on DOD projects
C-He was obligated to spend a considerable amount of time at WUT establishing a new lab and conducting research
That all sounds ok until you understand that WUT is the Wuhan Labs, the probable source of COVID as a result of lab manipulation of bat viruses.
Clearly the author did not want the casual reader to understand the connection between COVID , Harvard and the scientist. Around the same time internal emails from those who publicly dismissed that lab leak theory on Faucci's instruction despite their believing that it was probably manipulated.
Could it be that the relentless attempts to prosecute Trump are in some part to cover the apparent fact that Faucci and his pet's at EcoHealth Alliance sent funds to Wuhan with the knowledge that they were struggling to operate their BSL-3 lab and had a compromised American trying to get the BSL-4 lab up. We had our guy in the Wuhan lab but unfortunately he had pledged and sold his loyalty to the Chinese communists.
Keep up the good work Matt! Honest mistakes happen, so should corrections! We are all here because we are craving that type of genuine human journalism as opposed to the corporate PR we have been fed.
One of the things about being an online publication is that the retraction gets as much attention as the original article. In mainstream newspaper the retraction gets buried in a small, maybe 2-3 inch column. Good on ya, Matt!
Agree with you being a GREAT role model for what RESPONSIBLE journalism is! No shame in making a mistake, a lot of shame in not correcting it so others can see the correction...take not Wash Post, NYT, etc.
This is why I love you, Matt Taibbi and why I will always be a subscriber! When you make the rare error, you correct it and apologize sincerely and with the same effort that you did the original story. THIS is what it's all about. THIS is why you are a person I trust. We never demand perfection, we only aspire to it.
Echo all the comments. Real journalist does real journalism. It is important to compare this to the current ethics of journalists and, hopefully, rising journalists will look and learn.
CORRECTION ? ! ?
What kind if JOURNALIST does that ?
lol. Luv ya Matt.
A "so-called" journalist. (Credit DWS)
Touche’ Alan.
I don’t see why we need to make comments about Alan’s butt
Note to NYT, Washington Post, CNN, now see how easy that was.
🔥
Narrator: They do not see.

Matt Taibbi, real (so called) journalist 👍🏼
Thank you for the retraction. Would that the NY Times and Washington Post retract their stories about Trump being subject to Russian extortion.

And certainly never is the actual headline as it is here.

This is what sets you above the rest. Thank you for your example of excellence.

🏆INTEGRITY.🏆
Don’t see that much these days.
Much like ‘common sense’ or ‘common courtesy’.
Neither are too Common anymore.
Indeed.
Amazing... by admitting an error RESPECT grows exponentially.
...and that's how it's done.
Wow. Looky there. Integrity in journalism. How delightful! Thanks for being you Matt!
