Actually that IS how it works in real life. Silicon Valley is filled with multi millionaires who are fools that got really, really lucky. Not everyone in Silicon Valley that made a pile of dough. But the vast majority. I live here in SV so i have some insight, but i suspect Wall Street is no different...

Make a ton of money and suddenly your IQ goes up 20pts to everyone you talk to... That is just a fact

Main difference tween Silicon Valley and Wall Street as far as I can tell is on Wall Street, you need a frat brother with an older brother w connections at Goldman.

Silicon Valley, you don't.

That is certainly A difference between Wall Street and Silicon Vally...

But both are filled with idiots that mistake financial success with luck. They don't care that the game is rigged and that they added zero value...

I had the impression genuine nerds -- as in, people with actual technical skills -- could get further in SF/Silicon Valley than they could in "social skills" places like LA, DC, and NYC, but it is entirely possible this is an idea that has been implanted in my brain by mass media.

I assume it to be a documentary, much as "VEEP" is a documentary about DC.
