I'll be happy with vaping, feeling-his-gypsy-roots Walter, giving me a whole new perspective on whatever reality has morphed into.

Walter's health is far more important than our entertainment. I'm hugely supportive of the way he's living today - in the present.

I think Walt was also spot on about Trump’s drone press conference, that he was as serious as we’ve ever seen him and rightly pissed off about the position the Biden administration has put him in.

I'd like to hear about how there are drones hovering over military assets, and key Infrastructure, drones shutting down airports, witness reports of drones disabling people's recreational drones, drones the size of school buses hovering over houses, drones going in and out of the sea, drones chasing the Coast Guard etc. And how a lot of this originates not from the tin foil hat brigade, but from local lawmakers, police, etc. Friday's presser of all locally elected officials from Staten Island was instructive as they pled for the feds to be up front rather than gaslighting the population. We're talking about the most powerful gov't on earth with full spectrum dominance, with satellites that can track an individual anywhere and initiate a kill, who can surveil and track all adversarial assets at all times, and yet the feds say: "We don't know what these drones are. But don't worry folks, there's no threat - and btw don't believe your lying eyes." If they don't know what they are or who is behind it, then, ah...that's a problem. Which points to either a huge coverup or an Elon psy op or...something other worldly (wasn't that Kirn's job awhile back? Lol). Anyway the huge credibility gap is a big part of this story.

It's funny how freaked out some folks get over her.

She reminds me of the unhinged people I used to meet on the bus, who could switch from intriguing to batshit crazy in a heartbeat.

Re Rachel: I remember some time ago, Glenn said, "She used to be one of us." Not since she got over paid and made friends with the likes of Hillary and Madeleine Albright, made her even crazier. Will she ever let go of Russiagate. No. Never. I watched 3 hours of Putin answering questions from politicians/leaders from all over the world. Best 3 political hours of my life, he was so brilliant, reasonable, honest and clear. God, would that we could ever have a president one tenth as good.

I think the way this works is that they get paid to shill for the Democratic Party. They are what they call in the business "grasstops" as opposed to "grassroots."

Their viewers are Democratic media across the country who drive the message they receive to those many millions who still trust their local news sources. So, they are not paid $20 million for the viewers they draw, they are paid for the message they deliver. That is how half the country can be oblivious to things we know because we follow Matt, Walter, guys like Gleen Greenwald etc. Slow progress is being made. Listen to Matt on Russia-gate, he initially thought it possible/credible. Some of us thought it was complete nonsense from moment one. But it took 8 years to get it to the point where a majority knows it was complete nonsense. And that is because of the MSNBC/CNN/AP/CBS/NBC/ABC led information dissemination service. But the thought leaders are people like Maddow, Joy Reid, etc. That's my take!

Green smoking jacket guy was a Liberal member from my hometown of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Liberals are done, so what can they do but laugh. Bloc Québécois are also a joke. Their platform is to destroy Canada, but have failed for 30 years. CBC is worse than PBS, just so you know. The only thing inter3sting about Trudeau, is that his father might be Fidel Castro. Our resigned finance minister is a WEF joker. Other than politics, she was a journalist.

Definitely Dark Walter tonight. But then...

So: as I understand it, drone furor in NJ (where Matt lives) is either a psyop to reduce attendance at the inauguration (and that's the good news), or a real search for a loose nuke. Yes, it happens, and they haven't all been found, either. I believe there are still several at the bottom of the Mediterranean off southern Spain, for instance.

And I agree with Matt: that's the most presidential I've ever heard Trump sound. Tends to support the "real" hypothesis. If it is, Matt and family might want a quick vacation on the West Coast, just until it blows over. I would certainly understand.

And about Proposition 1: isn't there a disproportion between the means, and the risks, with the proposed goal? Who really cares how many people come to the inauguration? And making an incoming President that angry seems like a bad career move.

Expand full comment
John Oh's avatar

Tend toward some form of psyop because the drones could easily have been covered with a plausible lie from the government. "you may see some lights, conducting tests, etc." Government lies all the time and is pretty good at it. But they just let it go with no explanation, which as Walter points out, increases anxiety. (If the drones are not US, then it's worse because there was no explanation and no action taken. Hard to believe, but then look what happened with the CCP balloon.)

Minor-ish point but I wanted to call it out — the “military drone guy”, the US DOD vendor, has displayed the US flag “backwards”: in conventional display, the stars should be on the left side but I believe he had them on the right (noting that on vehicles, the flag is displayed in a fashion consistent with “wind direction” so in that case it’s permissible for the stars to be on the right as they would be if it was an actual flag attached to the vehicle and thus blown by the wind). For a DOD vendor, one would think he’d know that. I’m not a veteran but I known some who told about the proper display of a flag.

I noticed that as well, but in my limited experience with TikTok, videos are often posted with a reverse, or mirror, image for some reason. Not by the user, but by the app itself. Many videos that are filmed in cars, for example, make it look as if the driver is on the right side of the car, when it is very clear they are not in the UK. I googled this and was provided this answer:

“If you have a video where the words on your T-shirt, or something in the clip of your video or reversed, and you want to flip it so people can read the words, you need the inverted filter! Simply tap the screen to reverse the image.”

If you look carefully, there's 50 plus 1/2 stars on it. That value, if integrated from negative infinity to 3.141 explains the Kennedy assassination.

Expand full comment
Outis's avatar

Ha! I appreciate the calculus joke -- and of course compulsively want to note that the integral of any (non-zero) number from $-\infty$ (might as well throw a little LaTeX humor in) to any finite limit (including approximations to $e$ as well as $\pi$) would return $\infty$....which might be that explanation you speak of!

You made the calc joke so I blame you for me going over the edge with it. :-)

I was merely noting that it struck me as odd that the dude -- a self-identified defense contractor -- didn't know how to properly display a flag.

I was "schooled" on this point by a veteran when I made that very mistake. That is, the people who know are often somewhat sensitive about it (in a good way).

Freeland was the finance minister

She quit because the deficit is at 62 billion

The gimmick was Trudeau claims to have given a 2 month hold on the GST a tax and a $250 cheque to Canadians who make under $150,00 a year so you can go out to restaurants

Something anyone I know hasn’t done since Covid

Freeland isn’t liked here she’s a cruel dick

However the media loved her

She quit because Trump can't stand her, on a personal level. She's also the dummy who helped bring the Ukrainian Nazi into the House of Commons.

She's Canada's leading neo-con (Yes, Canada has a bunch) and the Canadian politician (after Trudeau) the incoming Trump administration likes and respects least.

Whatever hopes Canada has of getting a "better" deal with the US improved significantly with Canada's Dick Cheney in a dress gone.

Another drone theory: they (whoever they are) are mapping WiFi networks. If you try to connect to WiFi with your phone - you see a bunch of networks with often silly names (my fav: FBI_van_#1275). That list of networks is unique to your physical location and can be used for geolocation.
