We are fully in the upside down world where progressives hate Trump because he doesn’t want to keep pouring men and money into a meat grinder. I feel like I’m trapped in the Truman Show and someone dosed the people in the control room.

No. No Maddow clips. I feel, one could say, “raped” if I ever see Maddow again. I experience her as a whacked-out, mentally ill person who deserves to be living on the street. She makes no sense and needs to be removed from TV broadcasting. If one wants to see Maddow, all they need to do is watch her show. I don’t watch Matt and Walter for them to sneak in Maddow.

Matt Hoping you can shed some light on why Zelensky's meeting with 10 Dem Senators (and God only knows who else) just prior to his White House sit down, where he seems to have been urged not to sign the rare earth deal, did not violate some statute? Seems treasonous to me, with CT Senator Chris Murphy leading the way.

Great call. I agree it is of huge importance. What are the Dems up to, what is their strategy here. What can they possibly be promising Zelenskyy, when they have such little power. What game is being played by the Dems here. Zelenskyy was clearly coached and his performance planned. Who were the planners and what was their strategy. It’s a given they want to harm Trump, but if a forever war is the objective of Zelenskyy and his backers then how is ignoring Trump, pretending his is non existent, going to work for them when doing so stops the money flow. They all want to pretend that there was not an election and that Trump is not in reality the POTUS. Hard to understand the end game here. Do they really believe they can damage Trump enough to make his so unpopular that he is a lame duck during the first year of his second term? That the Dems feel that confident that in two years they can win control and then give Zelenskyy what he wants?

"Oh, and Anora won Best Picture, much to the chagrin of The Telegraph."

...

Come on Matt! No mention of the film "No Other Land" that won Best Documentary?

For some, not so mysterious reason (Zionist political influence in DC & Hollywood), this documentary has no US distributors! (even with a tiny release it has still grossed $400K).

Good luck finding a place to see it here in the US; it's showing in very few theaters right now (a Google search won't even bring up the film's website; you have to enter the URL) nootherland.com

"Transfer" of Palestinians, and the total leveling of their homes, has been going on over the past 50 years in the West Bank on a smaller scale than Gaza, village by village. This film is worth watching to put into historical context the impending "gates of Hell" about to be unleashed by Israel on Gaza (similar to the leveling of the entire city of Warsaw by the Nazi's after the 1944 Polish revolt and the Nazi's 1943 liquidation of the Jewish Warsaw Ghetto).

The Gaza "War" has never been about '"October 7th, "Hamas, or the hostages. It's about "finishing the job" (started back in 1947) of killing or "transfer" of Palestinians to ethnically cleanse Israel.

P.S. "Transfer" was the same term used by the Nazi's; I remember seeing that term used in a display at the Jewish museum in Vienna last summer. We saw my wife's grandparents former townhouses and their graves in the Jewish section. Most of her father's family fled Europe in 1938.

In the history of the world there has never been a Kingdom of Palestine. If you had mentioned the "Palestinian people" to someone a hundred years ago, you would have been looked at in bafflement. "The Palestinian people" are a public relations creation, an extremely clever one, but history doesn't know of such a people, and if it did, Jews would have as much claim to the title as anyone else.

When Mark Twain visited in the late 19th century, he was shocked by the wasteland he found. There were quite a few tribes roosting there. The Arab powers has no interest in it.

But the cliche is true: resettled European Jews made a desert bloom. "Palestinians" resettled in Egypt or Jordan would be only a source of chaos. Those two countries could accommodate them easily. They don't want them anymore than you want to import brigands to your neighborhood.

Twenty years. Look what Israel did with its first twenty years. Compare it with what the Gazans did with theirs. If they weren't a group of people dominated by evil psychology, they really could have created an Arab Singapore. They could have built a new Gaza, one of the great tourist attractions in the world. They could have built hotels, restaurants, casinos, theaters, concert halls, and trained their sons for careers working in, and eventually running, perhaps even owning, those businesses. In short, they could have chosen to quit being destructive and start being productive. But as I said, their psychology is evil. Everyone who is rational recognizes it.

As for you, scratch an anti - Zionist and you've only just begun. Keep scratching, and a lot harder.

The vileness of your type's invocation of Naziism to describe the Israelis' fight to live says everything about it.

If possession is 9/10 of the law, maybe a people's tending of a land should be 10/10 of it.

If the shoe fits, wear it.

“[Ehud Barak, other Israeli leaders] Don’t you dare show your faces at any memorial ceremony for the heroes of the Warsaw Ghetto, . . . You are not Anne Frank of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, but Hans Frank, the German general who acted to starve and destroy the Jews of Poland. Today the Warsaw Ghetto is right in front of you, targeted by your own tanks and artillery, its name is Gaza.”

—Michel Warschawski, “Absolutely Not in Their Name, Not in Ours”, AIC, January 18, 2009. Quoted in Tony Greenstein, “Zionism During the Holocaust: The Weaponisation of Memory in the Service of State and Nation” (2022).

From “In the Shadow of the Holocaust” by Masha Gessen December 9, 2023 https://www.newyorker.com/news/the-weekend-essay/in-the-shadow-of-the-holocaust

“In 1948, Hannah Arendt wrote an open letter that began, “Among the most disturbing political phenomena of our times is the emergence in the newly created state of Israel ... a political party closely akin in its organization, methods, political philosophy, and social appeal to the Nazi and Fascist parties. …"

“Netanyahu has been brandishing Amalek [look it up] in the wake of the Hamas attack … for the last seventeen years, Gaza has been a hyperdensely populated, impoverished, walled-in compound where only a small fraction of the population had the right to leave for even a short amount of time—in other words, a ghetto. ... like a Jewish ghetto in an Eastern European country occupied by Nazi Germany. … The term “open-air prison” … the more fitting term “ghetto” would have drawn fire for comparing the predicament of besieged Gazans to that of ghettoized Jews. It also would have given us the language to describe what is happening in Gaza now. The ghetto is being liquidated.”

Four decades ago, as a teenager, I read Leon Uris's book "Mila 18" about the 1943 Jewish Warsaw Ghetto uprisng. Last night, I googled "warsaw ghetto uprising ruins” Looking at the pictures, you can't tell the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto from that of Gaza.

In 1943, Nazi SS General Jurgen Stroop liquidated the Warsaw Ghetto. When the poorly armed Jewish resistance fought back, the Nazi's starved out, burned out, and leveled the ghetto. The survivors were “transferred” to the death camps.

IN 1944, after the Polish 1944 uprising, Hitler ordered, 'Warsaw is to be razed to the ground while the war proceeds.’ … Himmler made sure his officers understood exactly what was intended: ‘The city must completely disappear from the surface of the earth… No stone can remain standing. Every building must be razed to it's foundation.' … less than 5 per cent of pre-war Warsaw remained intact … in the city of ruins … genocide and urbicide march in lockstep.” https://geographicalimaginations.com/2013/04/24/city-of-ruins/

. . .

This past weekend: “The decision we made last night [3-01-25] to completely halt the entry of humanitarian aid [e.g. food , water, etc] into Gaza until Hamas is destroyed or surrenders completely and all our hostages are returned is an important step in the right direction— ‘standing at the gates of hell,’” said Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.  “Now, we must open these gates as quickly and as lethally as possible …”

Don't you hear echos of Hitler and Himmler in Smotrich's promise (and President Trumps] to “open the gates of hell.”? Doesn't take much imagination.

I have not read those books, but I've read his essays on the subject and his book "The War on Informed Consent: The Persecution of Dr. Paul Thomas by the Oregon Medical Board" that was well-researched).

Poor Zelensky. He has nothing to bargain with, the military war is over, and the longer it goes the more Putin grinds up Ukraine. Zelensky biggest mistake was believing the United States actually cared about him, or Ukraine.

Walter’s comments about how scripted this was are right on. I was shocked at the number of comments on reaction videos proclaiming that Trump/Vance had acted inappropriately. Some might have been understandable, but this was brigading in the extreme. Then I looked at Zelenskyy’s affect throughout the entire conference and it was obvious he was baiting them. It speaks well to Trump that he was able to endure it for 40 minutes before blowing up at him.

I later heard that Susan Rice, Blinken, Nuland and Vindmen were all advising him. That would explain why the comment brigade was ready to attack once it happened. Many of the comments were detailed explanations on why Ukraine was right about everything. Not something someone would write off the cuff. This was definitely a planned mugging - by Zelenskyy and the neo-cons.
