Gee, I grew up knowing Jan. 6 as The Feast of The Epiphany, or the 12th day of Christmas. Now the banana heads are trying to ruin my religious feast days, too.

Insurrection by shirtless unarmed viking man who put his dirty boots on Nancy's desk. Probably took a few swigs from her mostly empty wine box. That's why she's so upset.

Matt, could you mention the biggest scandal of our lifetime, now coming out of England? Pakistani child rape rings of unimaginable horror, lasting over 20 years, under both parties’ rule, with a silent and complicit press, punishing the victims more than the criminals. This is madness.

@Kurt

Homosexuality and child rape are among the British ruling class most notable attributes, it is no surprise that an ethnic group trying to make it to the top in Britain emulates their knobs.

But let me make this perfectly clear, I don't despise them for being GAY. I despise them for being BRITISH.

The more I learn about the riots that day, the more they appear to be just like the crazy Bostonians who dumped the tea in the “Hahbah”

It actually works, but I'm sure its some sort of cultural appropriation or micro aggression to my woke friends, because they alone own music.

Long live the Insurrection, an Epiphany of sorts on its 4th Anniversary. Let the Wise One (stable genius) be formally counted in as our Northern neighbor is counted out. Finally!! 👍🏻😂

Matt, why aren’t the livestreams available on the podcast feed after they’re over—I get it if technologically you can’t be on the podcast format live. But that’s the show, so it seems like I should be able to listen on the podcast feed later. This week, for instance, only the short story excerpt was available on the feed. The podcast apps work much better than YouTube etc so if it’s possible to post the finished product, please do!

@taibbi I would also like to see this remedied. The podcast is the means by which I choose to consume your content and I would very much appreciate it being kept up-to-date with everything.

Cate, hit the Rumble option in the ATW email at anytime. If I can’t watch it “live” I save the email and watch it when it suits me, usually in the wee hours!

So glad you are marking the date, Matt and Walter.

Today is Epiphany. That is and always will be the most important thing to remember about today, and no amount of injustice in the world will make me forget it:

The people who walked in darkness

have seen a great light;

those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,

on them has light shone. (Isaiah 9:2)

Sorry to disappoint you, Matt, but the GEC is just "spreading its wings" and building nests in other departments of the so-called gov (as in, who is running the joint). I've heard that they may not have time to build solid nests - hope so. Maybe Obama could make a home for them in the bizarre monument to hubris he's built in honor of himself.

From election day to today, the first workday of January 2025, was Part 1 of The Long Slog. Today through the inauguration is Part 2 of The Long Slog. Today, Komodo Dragon Harris counts, and I hope the 1-2-3s catch in her craw every last vote. I have my doubts, however, if she can count to ten — Biden certainly can’t.

So, I hear that Biden is trying to do as much damage as he can before he leaves. It doesn’t matter. Trump will reverse the damage, by hook or by crook. Biden, the crook. Hunter, the crook. Jill, the crook. Biden’s kids, the crooks. They are all crooks, nobodies. They all put their mitts on millions of dollars not their own. Now, they need to move overseas because the Bidens do not belong in the USA — they are thieves, they know it — they need to sell all their properties in the USA, and get the hell out of the USA permanently and forever.

I hear Columbia in South America is “a filthy unlighted place to decay and die.” Sounds just the place for the former POTUS-Biden. The Bidens are worthy of such a benighted place. They should go — take an extended walk off a short gang-plank, until their entire family drops to the bottom of the Titanic. They deserve such a lurid place—shadowed, creepy, unwholesome. After all, that is what the Bidens have left for us. But we will “make light” in more ways than one.

Now we have three more weeks of The Long Slog. I, for one, can’t wait. I am waiting on the edge of my chair for Trump to be sworn in. And anyone dreading January 21, well, they can turn-tail and run right out of the USA — don’t let the screen door whack them in the bum on the way out.

I think the inauguration should be a muted affair, like a small wedding. Indoor, maybe in some Congressional hall, and televised. Outdoors is too cold, and the feds need to save money — taxpayers’ money.

And by the way, stop all the free concerts in the WashDC area — who instituted such extravagant free stuff? Outside the DC area, we don’t get any of that free stuff. Why do the feds give DC-locals all sorts of perquisites, free stuff the feds never asked if it was okay with us that they splurge on? All that kind of shit ought to stop — by decree.

"...January 6, the most important date in U.S. history." Ah come on, get real! I'm quite surprised at your lack of historical perspective. How about July 4, 1776 or December 7, 1941 or April 9, 1865 as a few other candidates for the label of "most important date in U.S. history"?
