I am glad your podcast exists, regardless of the number of followers. You tell the truth, provide source material so we can make our own judgments, and it’s entertaining. Thank you for your service.

On the last point, 2 comments:

1) The narrative being spun by the mainstream media to the effect of, "We have no idea whether we are hitting drug running boats or fisherman" is complete horseshite. People who are perpetuating this either have zero idea of the current ISR capabilities our our military (and probably wouldn't believe it if you told them), or they are deliberately spinning nonsense for self-serving reasons.

2) The 2nd dumb narrative being put out there is that, "The boats aren't even coming to the U.S." No shit - we absolutely know that already. It's not like these boats are landing in Miami. They are transporting precursors to Mexico, from which they are being refined into fentanyl, etc. and then transported to the U.S. We absolutely know this, and we are attempting to cut off a supply chain.

Don't fall for the straw man arguments. They are being put out there to deliberately obfuscate what the conversation actually should be.

Andrew Dolgin's avatar

It’s still extrajudicial killing and none of that has been proven in a court anyway.

Hammer's avatar

How can you say with such certainty that it's 'extrajudicial' if it hasn't been ruled on in a court yet?

Andrew Dolgin's avatar

That’s what it means to kill somebody without a court and outside the context of a war. You can’t just kill people for crimes they haven’t been tried for or that’s called extrajudicial.

Hammer's avatar

I understand the definition of "extrajudicial," thank you. That's not my point.

Andrew Dolgin's avatar

You just asked how it can be extrajudicial killing if it hasn’t been ruled on, so actually that indicated you have no clue what the word meant.

InternalMedicineDoc's avatar

Sorry that ship sailed when Obama continually bombed civilian weddings with drones. Even bragged about how good he was at it. That is just the latest example I could think of…..our history is replete with similar incidents.

AlisonMT's avatar

Just like the killings and horrific effects that the imported drugs cause on our society. Rarely are the importers caught. Rarely are those dealing kept for any period of time equating to a death sentence. So while people can call it murder, I call it a war on drugs. Deterrent is more effective with these smugglers than any ineffective due process.

Andrew Dolgin's avatar

One of the facts have been established at all. By your logic he US president can order the killing of whoever for whatever reason with absolutely no checks or balances. It’s sick in the head.

Kathleen Lowrey's avatar

Extrajudicial killing is disgusting and stains regimes that do it with dirty sticky blood.

Chilblain Edward Olmos's avatar

I used to believe that as well. But reality has led me to now understand….

“We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would harm us."

Chuck Campbell's avatar

The reality is that you’ve replaced your conscience with cope. Like a soldier in an evil army.

Chilblain Edward Olmos's avatar

Kumbaya!

“Cope” is a verb. Not a noun.

I’m glad that I’ll never have to rely on your ilk when the shit hits the fan. I’m sure that hippie shit will totally save your ass.

Andrew Dolgin's avatar

Nobody needs to defend me from drugs because I’m not a junkie and the Venezuelans don’t threaten me. You’re so terrified you give the power to the president to kill anybody any time for any reason without questions, checks, or balances. It’s sick in the head. Pathetic and sick.

Chilblain Edward Olmos's avatar

Thanks for explaining my thoughts to me. How insightful!

Terrified of what exactly? I enjoy drugs actually. It’s not about the drugs. It’s about the profits. Also, I really don’t care about these abstract concepts. Thanks for playing. I guess the “mute” function doesn’t work.

Kathleen Lowrey's avatar

Admittedly the scourge of Venezuelan fishermen who used to nightly menace elderly Americans as they tried to play pinochle has been reduced

I personally would prefer interdiction, but there's little chance of getting a go-fast and a fishing boat mixed up, and the point of a go-fast is to make interdiction very difficult.

I agree with Walter that Epstein was more about money laundering than anything else. He also was CIA--but the CIA is in substantial part about money laundering as well! Btw.... Epstein was a member in good standing of the oh-so-snooty, oh-so-persnickety Council on Foreign Relations, which describes itself as a "nonpartisan think tank." What would Epstein have to offer a "nonpartisan think tank" on foreign relations? Membership is by invitation only, and an invitation from an existing member must be backed up by two other members. It would be interesting to know who nominated Epstein for membership, and who the other supporters were. Btw... Chelsea Clinton and George Clooney are also members of this "nonpartisan think tank"..... lending their giant (and nonpartisan!) brains to the nonpartisan intellectual efforts of the CFR....

Michael Finlayson's avatar

If the files implicate Trump with Epstein, then why did the Democrats not release them in 2023 or 2024? They had earlier impeached him, they prosecuted him on absurd bases, they moved to have him removed from the ballot, so why would they not have dumped the evidence of pedophilia or abuse of minors? On another point I have raised before, you guys need to at least look at the book “Western Self-Contempt” by Benedict Beckeld. Love you guys, M

John Duffner's avatar

Apparently the skeptical, insightful view is that the Dems were willing to try anything, no matter how underhanded or unprecedented, except release true evidence of Trump committing one of the most heinous crimes with one of his base's least favorite people in the world.

Rick Farmer's avatar

When we talk about Trump’s desire, or lack thereof, concerning the geopolitical aspects of Epstein, we always need to recall (1) what happened to JFK when he suggested disarmament and ending the Cold War, and (2) the fact that the CIA & Mossad, at the very least, had foreknowledge of 9/11. It is very likely that Trump has been warned.

The Dandy Highwayman's avatar

They took a chunk of his ear off and killed a man in the crowd while trying to get Trump.

I'm sure he's aware that he's made a lot of enemies and has crossed a line or two.

Jon's avatar

Chunk of his ear? His ears are fine. Case in point.

The Dandy Highwayman's avatar

He was shot at.

The guy hit his ear and one of the handful of shots hit a guy and killed him in the crowd. Are you saying it was a hoax?

You don't think someone really shot at Trump? Are Corey Comperatore's wife and daughters just hallucinating that he's dead?

Are you mental?

Jon's avatar

Being shot at and having a chunk of his ear blown off as you stated are two different things. Drink a cup of joe and reread your post. Then look at recent pics of Trumps right ear. No chunk missing. No scar. No “merely a flesh wound.”

AlisonMT's avatar

Don’t be so anal Jon. The point was he was shot in the ear enough that it bled. You have no more authority to decide on the exact damage as do I. So while you may not want to be told you’re wrong, you are. Grow up.

Jon's avatar

Right, because Trump is innocent. 😇

The Dandy Highwayman's avatar

Regardless of what you think of him, his ear got shot and a father and husband died that day.

Can you put YOURSELF aside for a second see that political violence is wrong or will you keep spluttering, "But... TRUMP! BUT TRUMP!" until the day you die?

You know... many Germans during WWII thought "The Jews" were the cause of ALL of their problems and did the same kind of dehumanizing mental gymnastics YOU are doing right now.

Spoiler Alert: it wasn't "The Jews" -it was Shitler and racially charged eugenicists.

You sound like them.

Sheila Dean's avatar

Warned of what? This is my point exactly. Who do they think they are? Trump is a mortal man at the end of the day. We have to protect him, and everyone else, from this squid. The squid is in a cold war with US. We are now in intergenerational blowback territory. They can't kill us all - even if that's the goal.

Rick Farmer's avatar

And as to the CIA, review the materials at the Corbettreport.com & many other sources concerning the CIA’s pre-attack knowledge of many of the alleged hijackers (including assisting them in obtaining entry visas) and the CIA’s refusal to share info with the FBI.

John Bibish's avatar

Your comments are fascinating in what they more than imply. However, I remain to be convinced JFK was anything other than a cold warrior. Similarly, I would be amazed if you could produce any collaborated evidence of your second assertion. Tell me why your comment isn't unsubstantiated speculation.

I could not conceal my delight at the Washington Post’s delightful exposure of Plaskett’s obsequious relationship with JE, when WaPo matched the timing of her texting with JE to a video of the committee hearing where she was grilling Michael Cohen, given how she was so arrogant and dismissive in another hearing when questioning Matt. Karma really is a bi$ch.

I made this comment from my phone and didn’t realize I had used “delight” twice. Just remove the second one when reading above, please :)

Master sleuth Matt Taibbi can’t phantom why Trump could possibly have fought tooth and nail to suppress the Epstein files which he previously vowed to release, and Taibbi can only fecklessly surmise that it was ‘an unforced error.’ He seems to have missed the unprecedented secret meeting between imprisoned sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell and Trump’s private attorney followed by a stunning transfer of Maxwell to a country club federal prison with all amenities included. Meanwhile, MAGA sidekick Walter Kirn, while chastising those who prematurely surmised about Russiagate, now insists that he knows for sure that Epstein was working for US intelligence, and that Trump’s embarrassing flip flop was actually a masterful stroke of 3-d political maneuvering.

Nathaniel Wilcox's avatar

10 times as many followers if you serve wretched cheap fast food instead of excellent tamales too. There are some idiots in this audience.

Opacus's avatar

I’m sorry guys; I fully believe that you’re much smarter than this. It’s been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt through the hacked emails between Epstein and Ehud Barak (reported by Drop Site) that he was an Israeli asset. The backbends you’re performing to argue otherwise is an insult to all of our intelligence, and it’s beneath you.

I really enjoyed you guys and loved your previous insight on current events, but this is a bridge too far. It makes me believe that there’s something motivating you from reporting on this truthfully. I hope it isn’t the possibility of Walter getting that Library of Congress gig. That would be really disappointing.

John Bibish's avatar

If you believe you have substantial authoritative support, did it ever occur to ask them?

MR's avatar

Thank you for not being insane and jumping on the blame Israel/Mossad/Jews for everything. Watching this idiotic poison spread on the right is truly sickening. Now I’m going to deposit my $7000.

On America this Week:

In the grand tradition of fearless journalism of Izzy Stone (the supposed inspiration for The Racket) expect more of the intrepid reporting from the US culture wars, which recently included hard-hitting pieces on influencer Jennifer Welch, Canadian ostriches and endless musings about the tattoo of a Maine senatorial candidate.

Don’t expect any mention when discussing America this Week of the declining state of the economy, the continuing mental decline of POTUS the floundering prosecution of James Comey, or Trump’s endless prevarications and lies concerning the files on his one-time best friend, the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

John Bibish's avatar

Then don't waste your time and money on it, duh. I find them both enlightened sceptics, of which I'm not interested in discussing with you.

The Wright Stuff's avatar

Strange that subscribers to the pages of a supposed free speech absolutist are such wilting lilies when it comes to dissent. But of course if you find my comments so disturbing, then I give you the same advice, move on.

John Bibish's avatar

Absolutely, you will be ignored henceforth!

Walter said Epstein worked for US intelligence services and dismisses the notion that Epstein "was working for another country exclusively". He used that formulation more than once. I didn't hear him allow for the possibility that Epstein did work for US intelligence agencies and the intelligence agencies of one or more foreign countries.

Cantankerous Iconoclast's avatar

Like the CIA and the Mossad haven’t been working together for decades 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Tryp's avatar

To me it’s pretty stupid to expect that he is literally a CIA employee. What is being released so far is paints a picture of someone deeply tied to Israeli and US intelligence but also international business and organized crime. He seems to have been a member of a transitional system of control beyond to governments.

Daily Growler's avatar

I agree that it seems unlikely that Epstein was an employee or agent of any one or two or three intelligence agencies. From what I've read, it appears he was a financial fixer who made things happen that powerful people and certain governments wanted to happen, and he was rewarded handsomely for his efforts. The sex trafficking stuff may have served as a lubricant in his relationships with powerful people.

But yeah mean & median are often equal or very close.

I am a big fan of ATW, but I thought Matt and Walter, especially Walter, looked extremely petty when they addressed a commenter's snarky comment asking why Candace Owens has an audience 10x the size of theirs. Walter told us he considers his "path in life" to be superior and he thinks Candace's high viewership numbers reflect negatively on her. For a long time, I felt uncomfortable with Candace's reporting style, because my lawyer's mind (my own mind, Walter, not my father's) thinks she sometimes attributes more relevance to what I would consider nonessential aspects of a story than I would. However, as I watch her conduct a crowd-sourced investigation into the assassination of her friend Charlie Kirk, I have a growing sense that she has some intuition that enables her to see connections that most of us overlook. Currently, she's the only high profile public figure who is trying to find out what actually happened to Charlie Kirk. Guys, this is not 1963, and the FBI narrative is not convincing. IMO we could all benefit from having a friend like Candace, who is not afraid to incur the wrath of powerful forces in her pursuit of truth. Yes, I believe she is pursuing the truth. The process is public and somewhat messy, but no one else, especially Kash Patel's FBI, seems interested in doing it. No, Walter and Matt, I do not believe she is doing what she is doing to optimize her audience. It astounds me that neither of you seem to see, let alone acknowledge, the great courage Candace is demonstrating. If, God forbid, one of you fell victim to nefarious forces, would either of you take the risks she does--or would you be afraid of knowing the answers?

Lori's avatar

Thanks for going to bat for Candace. She is a brave soul and more than likely you are too.
