You’re a historical idiot. Anyone who knows anything about antisemitism should know that ‘rootless cosmopolitan’ is an old antisemitic slur and nthat ‘globalist elite’ is an updated version of that.
My last comment on this thread: When I think of "Globalist Elites", I think of stuff like the Bilderberg Group, Bohemian Grove, The Clintons, etc, etc...
There is no association with religion there.
Ur attempting to steer this conversation to unintended/inappropriate places is very off-putting.
From Grok:
The Bilderberg Group was initiated by a small circle of influential figures, including Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, Polish politician Józef Retinger, Belgian Prime Minister Paul van Zeeland, and Dutch businessman Paul Rijkens. Prince Bernhard hosted that inaugural meeting and is often seen as a key founding figure, but the group itself is a collective effort, not the work of one person named "Bilderberg." It’s an annual, invitation-only gathering of around 120 to 150 prominent leaders from politics, business, finance, academia, and media, mostly from Europe and North America, aimed at fostering informal dialogue.
Globalist elites can mean more than one thing. To some it may be code for Jewish financiers. But it can also mean the WEF crowd and neoliberalism boosters. Maybe we should apply the principle of charity in critique? Many of us are acutely aware of thinly veiled antisemitic tropes but also alarmed at globalist elites to whom Tom Friedman panders.
I will always support accurate and concrete language. I think that the phrase ‘finance capitalism’ is more accurate since it describes the system that favors wealth creation by stock price rather than by improving products and services sold. The problem is not actually any one person or group of people; it is a set of collective decisions that created a world in which stock prices are the only measure of business success. (And yes, I know that people made those decisions — go fuck yourself, Milton Friedman — but we still need to recognize the broader system instead of blaming ‘the Davos set’ or whichever group we happen to dislike at the moment.
Except that there are a group of globalist elites who own practically everything and seek to govern the entire world - some but not all of whom are jewish. So you are conflating the one “conspiracy” with the anti-semitic trope when no one I know who uses that term means it in the sense you do. In fact, I find that fewer and fewer people use anything more covert than “the tribe”, or the “small hats”. Actually, there are a myriad of ways to identify that group of people. It’s really very impressive. But never globalist elites. IMO
I agree that the world has allowed too much concentration of wealth at the top. The problem I have with Kirn and Taibbi is that they worship three of those men: Putin, Musk, and Trump. None of the people here ranting about ‘globalist elites’ really want to do anything to effectively change that system by taxing billionaires out of existence; they simply blame George Soros. (And FWIW, every single person who repeats the standard line about ‘Soros funded’ anything IS an antisemite. That kind of argument comes straight out of the Deutscher Beobachter.)
I see you’ve still got that grocery bag over your head. I think we can assume you are incapable of removing it by yourself so here’s a tip - one that all of us will be eternally grateful for if you follow.

Not often enough, is this mentioned. The word Jewish should be removed for the purpose of re-assigning ideas and people into categories that have meaning, if at all.
Just say ‘Jews.’ We all know what ‘globalist elites’ means so you no longer need to conceal your meaning.
Your comment says WAY more about you than me.
I wasn't thinking that. Truly. I was not.
Why did you interject that?
All that does is freezes, changes, and derails this conversation.
You’re a historical idiot. Anyone who knows anything about antisemitism should know that ‘rootless cosmopolitan’ is an old antisemitic slur and nthat ‘globalist elite’ is an updated version of that.
Nonsense.
You should stop telling people what they mean when they say stuff.

Words have real meanings outside of your own head, and ‘globalist elites’ is one of them.
Words, clearly, have novel interpretations inside of your own head.

The bag is paper. Take a bath.
Ur talking to me? Lol.

No. I was talking to the karen with the grocery bag over her head.
She keeps bouncing off reality and thinks it’s fake because she can’t see it with that bag over her head and she’s too stupid to take it off.
Got it.
smh.
It seems like some people just come to this place to agitate.
She's probably being paid too much to remove the bag.
The label on the bag reads “made by usaid”
I don't consider "globalist elites" to mean "Jews."
I don't know how many of those running the WEF or the EU are Jewish, nor do I care.
The oligarchs -- on both sides of the political aisle --are not all Jewish.
This isn't a Jew thing; this is an "us against them" thing.
Israel's undue influence over our government is a whole other issue.

There is a world outside your own head. Visit it occasionally.
Yuck. How's that lightbulb coming along by the way?
KAREN
I really need to find my copy of Protocols Elders Zion. It is around here somewhere. That book feels correct.
