Without the current mainstream media, covid is never a thing.
A real media would have seen through the lies just like we did -- and they would have been able to stand up to the establishment (unlike us).
A real media would have blown the whistle when the HHS started its "get everybody jabbed" campaign and the government was paying them off to push vaccine propaganda.
Just like Russiagate and Biden's liquified brain, they didn't cover the story because covering the story would have made Democrats look bad. (This is one of the reasons Fauci ran to Democrats for cover from Rand Paul, it ensured they would never be interested in getting to the bottom of covid origins.)
Now they're stuck in a loop where they have to lie about not only the past, but about the present as well.
The bottom line is that Fauci and the other experts all knew they were lying about the most important aspects of covid -- in opposition to their previously published work -- and they MOST LIKELY did it to get Trump out of office. It's not a coincidence that covid mania started right after impeachment theater failed.
I'm quite sure that one of the motivating factors for the news media is that the pandemic had the possibility of getting Trump out of office. Which it did, actually.
And it's a little ironic (to me, anyway) that part of THAT motivation was certainly to cover up the fact that they spied on Trump in 2016 and then launched Russiagate as a way to neuter the incoming President.
The Democrats' strategy of boosting far-right candidates seems to have worked
November 11, 2022
The political support ranged from money to TV ads and email blasts. What made it unusual is where it came from, and what it was meant to do: Back in the primary season, a number of Democrats tried to boost far-right Republican candidates whom they deemed easier to beat in November.
The strategy seems to have paid off: In high-profile races where Democratic candidates or groups successfully used the strategy during the primaries, all of the Republicans they helped have either lost or are trailing, two days after Election Day.
It's hard for me to see any of the major events not tied to the overall goal of getting Trump out of office:
- Make pandemic appear as bad as possible and Trump's fault
- Make George Floyd into a sign of a national crisis of police brutality and racism even thought there is no evidence the Floyd event had anything to do with racism and events of unarmed people being killed by police is extremely rare
-Reframe the Hunter files so that instead of uncovering Biden corruption, we get another Russia tries to help Trump story
- Obvious press shielding of Biden during campaign
Literally everything the Democratic party has done since Trump got the GOP nomination in 2016 was to torpedo his political chances. It started even before he was elected the first time, with the CIA/FBI colluding with the White House to fake intelligence assessments.
But only temporarily. The actions of the left, between Covid, Hunter's laptop, the Twitter files (both Matt's reporting and Elon's purchase), never mind the assassination attempts, only made that four year wait for his re-election, more determined to root out the rot that has taken hold and infected every institution, from gov't to the media to academia and corporate business. In retrospect, I'm sure the left wishes they let Trump win in 2020.
It really is that simple. Stop saying america is more racist than ever, penises are vaginas, price controls work, and unchecked immigration has no drawbacks and they would likely be more competitive. Certainly would have been in 2024.
I get your point, but there is another way of looking at this. The constant references to party bases, in either the D or R camp, elide the fact that these “bases” are relatively tiny compared to the electorate as a whole or even registered voters in the respective parties. These so-called bases have outsized and toxic influence because of our primary system, where they punch way above their weight because they turnout in disproportionate numbers. Back in olden days, primaries were a part of the selection process, often referred to as “beauty contests” in which upstart candidates could prove their viability to the party organization. See for example JFK winning the W. Virginia primary to demonstrate a Catholic could garner Protestant votes. Those days are gone…now primaries are the official path to nomination where it’s easier to mobilize the extremes and for deep pocketed ideologues to wield influence.
I think that's the same way of looking at it. What you are talking about has led to the defection of the "soft middle", leaving the extremist base to actually outnumber the normies.
Many people liken this DSA takeover to the Tea Party, but the Tea Party was ALWAYS tempered by the fact they were outnumbered by the establishment. The DSA threatens to overturn the establishment and take control of the ashes.
True! But the Democrats are now controlled by DSA radicals, and those assholes won't ever listen to reason. They need a purge, or a schism, even at the cost of winning elections for the next decade or so. Once Trump's rides off into the sunset, they can count on the GOP to eventually screw things up so badly that they'll again become a viable alternative.
Perhaps we should stop calling it the “news media”, and call it instead the Political media. The news is really just a side-hustle for big corporate media. News is just a tool, a means to an end, raw interpretive material, that in itself means little. Impact and perception, and maybe emotions are all that really matter.
The reality is that this virus was only meaningfully dangerous to the elderly and people with severe comorbidities (94% of deaths were people over 50) and this was already known by the summer of 2020. In particular, children under 18 were at essentially zero risk and there were no known superspreader events at schools.
This is the only pandemic in history where instead of quarantining the sick and vulnerable we quarantined everyone, including the young and essentially invulnerable — unless you were sitting (but not standing) in a restaurant, or attending a BLM riot, in which case have at it! The fact that people accepted this stupidity as “science” boggles my mind. Nothing about the COVID response had to do with science, it was entirely driven by the desire to compromise Trump’s presidency, the incalculable damage to a generation of students, business owners and the country overall be damned.
politics yes. main driver. but MONEY. long green. Benjamin’s etc was also a driving factor. I still see hand sanitizer and mask.. still see those 6 feet apaet stickers.. etc.. all of that costs money
If Trump HAD mandated the shot, the left would have reflexively refused.
That's a few billion reasons that Pharma might want to make sure Biden wins. (Remember how they held off on the vaccine announcement until after the election?)
I used to think our 2-party political system was the prime cause of most of our government’s problems; but now I think our news media is the real reason for most of our problems.
Here is a line from the Covid re-opening guidelines two of the largest teachers unions in the country, United Teachers of Los Angeles and the Chicago Teachers Union used when listing their demands to be met before getting teachers/kids back in classrooms:
“For capitalists and the politicians who represent them, opening up the economy is more important than saving lives: profits over people.”
Here is how the California Globe wrote about their re-opening demands on 7-13-2020:
“In what appears to be a labor union power play, the United Teachers Los Angeles Union announced Friday that Los Angeles Unified District schools effectively cannot reopen unless certain conditions are met: privately operated publicly funded charter schools are shut down, police are defunded, Medicare-for-All government-run health care is passed, a statewide wealth tax is implemented, housing for homeless is fully funded…”
Power play is an understatement this was a manifesto designed to collect money at home while not teaching kids. It was not capitalism which, in fact, pays their salaries, that was abusing the system. It was their own greed and complacency engendered by quasi Marxist rhetoric... one doubts they even believe it.
For years, Anthony Fauci insisted that Americans should trust him.
Trust him about the origins of COVID. Trust him about lockdowns. Trust him about masks, school closures, vaccines, and the dangerous research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Anyone who questioned him was smeared as a conspiracy theorist.”
And the people who did the smearing were people like Jake Tapper, Chris Cuomo, the NY Times, the Washington Post, and late-night "comics" like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah, and James Corden who ridiculed Trump while promoting COVID-19 vaccination in monologues, bits, and coverage from late 2020 through 2021–2022. They said, "Trust the science," and had schoolgirl crushes on Fauci.
During the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, “do your own research” (or “I did my own research”) became a frequent phrase among vaccine-hesitant people. Pro-vaccine voices—especially late-night comics—regularly ridiculed it as code for stupid rubes.
The media - from hard news to entertainment - are so complicit in the web of lies that Fauci told that they are now like members of the Mafia who can't rat on their fellow mobsters because they literally fear for their lives. The first one who broke ranks would get death threats.
"And the people who did the smearing were people like Jake Tapper, Chris Cuomo, the NY Times, the Washington Post, and late-night "comics" like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Trevor Noah, and James Corden who ridiculed Trump while promoting COVID-19 vaccination in monologues, bits, and coverage from late 2020 through 2021–2022. They said, "Trust the science," and had schoolgirl crushes on Fauci."
Yes, they were getting paid for that but not telling anybody. From the above linked article:
-------------
In August 2020, FMG was awarded the first of the three ASPA task orders, which the company used to fund the Campaign. FMG designed the Campaign to persuade Americans to get COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, as well as to encourage the public to adopt behaviors, such as masking and social distancing, that CDC and the Biden-Harris administration hoped would curb viral spread. Based on reports shared with the Committee, FMG spent on average over $20 million per month for the design and execution of the Campaign. As a self-described full-service behavior change research and strategy firm, FMG had experience reaching wide audiences, especially hard-to-count audiences, from its work on the 2020 Census campaign. In its proposal for the task order, the company asserted that it could benefit the ASPA by using a strategic mix of paid and earned media with exclusive radio partnerships, research-based messaging, and reinforced messaging from trusted influencers, celebrities, and sports figures.
And yesterday that clip resurfaced where Mayor Bowser and Fauci were walking through a Black neighborhood to push the residents to get vaccinated. The resident stood his ground and refused their "logic." At the end he said something to the effect that if you have to go around paying people to get the shot there must be something wrong!
Yeah. Fauci called that guy (in DC or Baltimore, I can't recall) a REPUBLICAN who doesn't like to be told what to do, and that they had fix (break?) that.
It was a great insight to Fauci's ability to deflect and lie, as well as insight into his ego.
The threat of death should be from atop scaffolding. Anyone found guilty of treason must be executed— regardless of party, ideology or occupation.
Gabbard called the behavior and decisions of many a treasonous conspiracy over a year ago. Time for speedy trials and executions for those found guilty.
There is every reason to think that China, the deep state (including Fauci), the media, and others used Covid to cost Trump the 2020 election... and not a single reason not to think it.
First sentence says it all. They can’t be that dumb. Or else the NYT is like a Jonestown cult. I just wonder who is mixing the Koolaid. So many candidates.
I agree, I agree vehemently. Matt this is why I don't feel sorry for "journalists" being subpoenaed at home. They are effing complicit in this scamdemic.
Plus none of them want to write any stories about the studies emerging on Covid vaccine injury. Effects in pregnancy, myocarditis, clotting issues, excess deaths in insurance data—The Cleveland Clinic published a paper about how vaccinated people were actually more likely to test positive for Covid. They called it “negative efficacy.” That sounds great!
They spent too long saying it was "safe and effective" and calling us anti-science grandma killers for not getting jabbed (even though no matter how many shots people got, grandma was never actually protected by the jab).
Pretty much everyone I know who got more than the first two shots (and some of them as well, who only got the initial series) have gotten covid multiple times. I foolishly got the initial series, because my father was having open heart surgery at age 81, and I was his advocate and transported him everywhere, so I kept thinking "what if I'm wrong?" (about the shots being useless and or dangerous). There was also the small matter of me potentially being fired for not getting it. So I got it, and luckily seem to have had no ill effects. I had gotten covid before the shots were available so there was really no reason for me to get it, but the reasons above caused me to do it. There was no way I was getting any boosters. And didn't they tell us there would be no need for boosters? Then it was, well, just one booster. Then it eventually turned into two boosters a year. No idea where they are with that now because I refuse them every time.
I just got an email from a well known arts colony requiring, in 2026, COVID vaccination. These people are dumb-ass sheep. Just what you want in artists and writers, a bunch of compliant dummies with no critical thinking ability. Your situation at least makes some sense in the context of the time, your father, and the information then available.
I can't decide if I would have preferred Trump to have 8 straight years in the White House though. Even though we had to endure Biden, there are certainly many things that Trump has accomplished these first two years of his second term I don't think he would've even gotten close to if he served two consecutive terms.
"Now they're stuck in a loop where they have to lie about not only the past, but about the present as well."
This is the hazard that all pathological liars face: they get tangled up in their own web of lies. Sadly, Americans WANT them to find a way out of the lies, because they're all a bunch of liars too. However, they're not pathological: "No Baby! I was with Jimmy! We were watching the game at his place!" Yeah, but he wasn't at Jimmy's, they were at the strip club. That's a normal lie. Americans need to get wise to these dangerous liars, but I'm not hopeful.
This just keeps happening until we deal with the MSM. Now we're also being told that Socialism with the DSA platform that describes Communism to an exact T is not Communism by a man with a painted on smile who never tells how he intends to implement his utopian promises because it would reveal the violence involved when people react to someone stealing from them. We're being gaslighted by a bunch of snot noses who aren't smart enough to avoid the panel van parked in the alley with the "FREE PUPPIES" sign. Propaganda is exhausting our country to a dangerous point and who knows what absurdity we will be forced to slay next.
Democrats don't understand they can't control the Red Guard. The Democratic establishment outsourced all the actual hard political work (knocking on doors, getting people to polls) to the young DSA lovers, and simply enjoyed the fruits of their labors.
At one point, the DSA started wondering what they were actually getting out of the deal, and decided to take over the party.
Sleeping with the dogs, you wake up with the fleas. I get the whole Bernie's revenge thing is going on but the media is once again failing miserably and like you said, there seems to be intent. Evil is truly relentless. Globalism on the one hand (extrapolated out) ends up with China in control of everything we need, so Communism. The DSA (Socialism is just Communist foreplay so...) Communism. Do you suppose the media might be owned by Communists? (WTF?) All I know is we are experiencing the crushing damage from late stage Globalism and these assholes keep pretending Communism is the answer to that when I know that it's Americanism that separates us from the beasts who would eat the world whole.
The democrats have no problem sending a heat seeking missile when it benefits them (Swalwelled is a verb). Instead of Andy Kim’s moment, which no doubt in his mind was akin to Maximus removing his helmet and stating his name in Gladiator, the Democrats could have have said: “we’re not doctors. We believed you and your diaries told us you were dishonest.” They could have appeared a tiny bit honest. The doubling down isn’t surprising.
But what difference does it make? Anyone still believing the Times doesn’t care. What a circus.
I think it's a mistake because I believe (without evidence, lol) that young democrats are still pissed about covid and want answers, too. They bore the brunt of the response because government had the most control over them. (Meanwhile, government employees got to work from home!)
Bingo! I agree that Matt's being a little too cautious in calling out the media for their role. And maybe the real truth is even worse than the media being complicit - I might make stronger statement . . . the media were active accomplices. And THANK YOU for suggesting that the goal was to get Trump out of office - either by making him look bad or by enabling the mail-in voting scam. That the Fourth Estate would risk the ruination of the economy and the death of millions of innocent people in order to maintain its power is telling. Perhaps I'm wrong in warning against violence against those responsible for the PLANdemic.
Covid should have been the giant wake-up call that government will happily lie to you and put your health (physical and economic) at risk. Sadly, too many are still listening to the MSM today, who are making excuses for Fauci. (But really, also for themselves.)
It's not even "most likely". They are sick with TDS. Increasingly more mentally ill as more journalists (loosely defined) are graduated. It's pathological, ie a disease caused by a mental condition or involving extreme, unstoppable behavior that is unreasonable and compulsive.
He means Matt's still prone to sympathize with some of the dumber anti-Trump narratives. I think it's his journalists' instinctive distrust of politicians of EVERY stripe.
Your first sentence says it all. They have ALWAYS been complicit, so there's no going back. I think we need a Straw Man, and yanking the FCC licenses of both NBC and ABC, would suffice. If those licenses were put up for bid, there is no telling what they could bring. It would be the friggin sale of the century!
Fauci is a mass murderer plain and simple he knew from day one he funded it and every statement/lie from him was designed to hide his own personal crimes. In a functioning democracy he would no longer be amongst the living but in hell alongside Hitler Stalin Mao Pol pot and his personal hero Josef Mengele
Agree. He should be referred to the International Criminal Court on charges of Crimes Against Humanity. The U.S. is not a signatory, but at least he could be arrested if he ever set foot in Europe. Fauci killed way more people than Eichmann ever thought of killing.
Mandela was a thug and a terrorist who killed a small number of innocent people by planting bombs in public places. He was properly charged, convicted and imprisoned. His wife Winnie was a murderer. She murdered one of her own gang of thugs after suspecting him of collaborating with the police. Yet these people were lionized by the US media. But Mandela only killed around a dozen people. Fauci is responsible for 10 million deaths world-wide. Fauci is responsible for withholding repurposed drugs capable of curing Covid in 72 hours. How effective were these repurposed drugs? Take a look at the Covid mortality statistics for the countries in the African Malaria belt. Yes, they are practically zero. In Ghana they were 2% of the US Covid mortality rates. Why? Every Ghanaian takes the "Saturday Night Pill" weekly. This pill is hydroxychloroquine, the sure-fire malaria prophylaxis that turned out to be a sure-fire cure for Covid. Americans were not allowed to buy this cheap drug. US doctors were forbidden to prescribe it on pain of losing their medical licenses. Other countries in South America and in India's largest province, made another cheap repurposed drug, Ivermectin available to their residents with outstanding results. In the US Ivermectin was similarly forbidden. My wife and I were both infected with the Covid virus. Two times. I dosed with 12 MG of Ivermectin for two consecutive days after feeling sick and achieved cures in all cases within 72 hours.
i was comparing Fauci to Josef Mengele and spell check made it Mandela and i didn't catch it. Your 100% correct on Ivermectin and Fauci denied us this safe and effective drug. His crimes against humanity are endless.
Fauci has some responsibility for experiments on the virus but he isn't responsible for letting it escape from the laboratory. That lies with the Chinese operating the lab.
Hmm. Not sure I agree. His organization indirectly funded GoF research at the Wuhan lab. That lab had an insufficient level of safety protocols in place to prevent the virus leaving the lab. If Fauci knew about that and did nothing, he's complicit in the outbreak. If he didn't know, he's negligent in the funding decisions of his agency and complicit in the outbreak.
Just a reminder that specific federal employees were assigned the responsibility for overseeing the usage of that grant at the Wuhan Clinic: Dr. Michael Lauer and Dr. David Morens. Why haven’t these gentlemen been called to testify before Congress? Because the objective is not to GET Fauci, it is to get to the bottom of what led to the debacle we call Covid 19.
There was also this: "The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences."
I agree, but I'd say he may have been reckless and not just negligent. In 2012 Fauci said in a press conference that the benefits of GOF research on a flu virus "far outweigh the risk" of a potential lab accident. So by his own admission, he was willing to risk a pandemic because he stupidly believed, without evidence, that virus labs had adequate security against accidental or intentional release. The maggot simply didn't care.
From AI: The U.S. State Department received multiple official warnings about safety and management vulnerabilities at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) nearly two years before the COVID-19 pandemic began.
If the research was not of questionable legality, why weren’t we doing it here in the good ol’ USofA? I am reminded of why terrorist suspects were hauled off to off-shore sites for “questioning” after 9/11. Apparently Club Fauci was even less worried about safety. Isn’t there a certain sanctioned safety and security level for doing this kind of research? Wouldn’t serious scientists be concerned that was being constantly monitored at such a lab?
But he was a full-throated advocate of covering his ass as well as the other players in that debacle. He gets no pass for that. He advocated for the gain of function research and it got out into the world as a result. If he had been honest from the beginning there would probably have been less of the horrific fallout that befell the world in the aftermath. Hanging his hat on the word 'likely' as an escape route from responsibility was cowardly beyond redemption.
Excellent synopsis, Matt. It looks as though AF was just following orders in the form of P3CO when he could have chosen to do the right thing and stopped the “not”-GoF research. This would have made hm heroic.
In a sane nation, the NY Times would be burnt to the ground. CNN, NBC CBS and ABC would be attacked and their corporate offices sacked. Fauci, Birx, Daszak, Hotez and the rest of the liars would be strung up from lamp posts. And the politicians who lied to us, locked us down, forced us to wear idiotic masks. carry vaccine passports and made us inject useless poisons would be sitting in polar prisons. Instead, Fauci is lionized and wealthy. Clowns like Tapper, who should be pelted with shit in fools cap write books. Murderers like Andy Cuomo walk free. And the cowardly John Roberts presides over a court that did nothing to protect the Constitution. China and Fauci have gotten away with the crime of the century and we have been neutered and abused. Some day soon, someone will finally snap and then it will be game on.
If JIP, we are the same and on this score, I am not a nice guy. Fauci deserves to be strangled. As do pols such as Cuomo, who literally murdered old folks in nursing homes. This is not a game. These people are guilty of monstrous crimes against humanity. No different than the SS.
If anything happens to Fauci, it will take months and an appeal. Next step is that Congress will find Fauci in contempt. The case will then go to a DC court. And there it will die (see what happened to Eric Holder under similar circumstance). The only time you see an orange jumpsuit from DC court in Congressional contempt referrals is if you are a Republican. See Steve Bannon as Exhibit A.
This is the way I'm leaning, too. Fauci was actually pretty good on covid until early/mid march -- then he flipped to being a doommonger. (My theory is that he was clued in on the fact that covid would be used as a weapon against Trump.)
Those of us old enough to remember Dr Fauci as the guy who screamed “AIDS will spread unchecked in the hetero population, and we’re all gonna die!” in the 1980’s knew he’s a fear monger. Really put a damper on the sexual revolution. He set his sights higher this time.
Mea culpa. Is there any penance I can do to make up for my grievous error that might have misled and misinformed millions of people on such an important topic? Lol
I took what you wrote as semi-spoof as I'm at least aware of this matter. From what I've gathered, quite a few people felt that the reaction to AIDS was incorrect.
To the point at hand, I was just wondering how one might be able to construct a "faux quote" so that it comes off as humorous while also indicating it's not meant to be taken literally. Hmmmmm....
I'll give him a bit of "poetic license" on this as Fauci's role in the AIDS matter is not well known. Not that I have a solid handle on it but from what I've heard, he mismanaged the approach and overemphasized risks early on.
“Fauci was actually pretty on Covid until early/mid march…” Absolutely wrong! Fauci knew where it came from, defied the Obama administration by shipping it there in 2014, funded it, hid the funding via “subcontractor ECO health alliance, bribed the virologists who the vast majority in February already were concerned about an engineered virus. He did this with very generous NIH grants. This little megalomaniac knew he was likely one of the prime causes of a global pandemic. Thus the “Origins of the “Virus” paper in Nature. I could go on about Mengele/fauci but I think you get the point.
There is so much one can point to including Biden talking about unemployment and job loss under Trump 1 during the lead up to the 2024 election as if we would forget it was COVID induced. In February 2020, unemployment was 3.5%, by April it was 14.7%. It actually dropped to 6.9% by election day. And think about all the changes to the election process done in the name of COVID. And the ban on public gatherings not done in the name of BLM and George Floyd (and the idiotic justifications for those). The bums rush to nominate Biden and get the primaries over with. Fauci, Andrew Cuomo, Gretchen Whitmer, Gavin Newsom = Heroes according to the media. Donald Trump and Ron Desantis = dangerous lunatics. I could go on but it is too depressing- millions dead so Fauci could get Julia Roberts autograph. On lighter note, where does a Pangolin go to get its reputation back?
Not to mention, it "prevented" Biden from running a regular campaign -- instead he was able to hang out in his basement and record 60-second "speeches" that had 15 cuts.
"If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively."
Of course, we knew by April 2020 that we WERE missing the vast majority of cases. By the end of April 2020, almost 25% of NYC had antibodies. That's MILLIONS of missed cases in that city alone, which would (as Fauci stated) drive down the CFR to "bad flu" levels.
The Santa Clara study demonstrating this exact thing, by John Ioannidis, Jay Bhattacharya, et al was dealt with rather ruthlessly, and both scientists were almost canceled as a result. I remember being shocked at the time, because Ioannidis was one of the most respected scientists in the world, with the highest number of citations.
Hundreds of thousands in L.A. County may have been infected with coronavirus, study finds -- April 20, 2020
The initial results from the first large-scale study tracking the spread of the coronavirus in the county found that 4.1% of adults have antibodies to the virus in their blood, an indication of past exposure.
The early results from L.A. County come three days after Stanford researchers reported that the coronavirus appears to have circulated much more widely in Santa Clara County than previously thought.
And THIS all goes back to the MOST important question of all -- when did covid actually show up? We know from donated bloodwork in the pacific northwest that it was floating around by mid-December 2019 AT THE VERY LATEST.
That was FOUR MONTHS before we did anything at all to slow the curve. Four WINTER months full of indoor gatherings and holiday travel and all the other stuff they told us was too dangerous in 2020 and 2021.........but we didn't even notice the bug until Jay Inslee threw covid patients into nursing homes.
I got it in December 2019. I'm not young and I survived it fine. And one corollary from all the madness that doesn't get talked about enough The supply chain cutoffs, the fed printing money and all the inflation under Biden which made peoples lives much harder. None of that would have happened.
Yes. If anyone has not seen his interview on "perspectives of the pandemic" series on YouTube, it is still very much worth a watch. Every episode is incredible, and I'm shocked it was allowed to remain available. I only wish more people watched this. It was released early on in the pandemic and includes many great people.
You are correct in that. The whole gang had to be protected, to the point where Fauci/Morens/Andersen were communicating in secret about how to steer the conversation.
Yeah, it's hard to believe anyone was so naive, to brag about avoiding FOIA. But, beyond that, will prosecutors be able to get information about other crimes out of him?
You all know about “Event 210”? It was a global pandemic “tabletop exercise” done in October 2019. The usual cast of characters, CIA, Gates Foundation, Welcome Trust, WEF, John’s Hopkins etc. When you read it, it looks almost identical to what happened. It was in RFK’s book, it’s still up on the internet. It’s very hard to believe these bastards didn’t do it for real .
07/30/26: Yes, the fee is high. It is not excessive. The value delivered is far beyond even my ridiculously exacting (and sometimes counter-productive) standards.
This is a powerful line that needs to be weaponized in mid-term election advertising: “They had their chance to prove collectivism works. It failed, badly.”
Nothing ever comes from ANY of this stuff. The whole point is "how will this affect voters"? I've gone past the point of caring about elections. I want to see some of these political types go to prison. I don't care who. Establish a precedent. Hey, Martha Stewart did her time.
My mother was a huge Martha Stewart fan and was furious when she went to prison. Now I realize she was onto something. After all, all of Congress is getting rich via insider trading and Fauci is sitting by the pool wearing sunglasses in InStyle Magazine.
And she never did trade on inside information. She was convicted of lying to the feds because she was too arrogant to shut her mouth and listen to her lawyers.
Haha, did she really? Still, at least she did her time. Unless you're caught with Egyptian gold bars sewed into your suit jacket, a politician's worst punishment is, "Please, dude, don't run for re-election."
Also, 10 days ago (July 20) the now Robert F Kennedy led, US Health & Human Services released new guidelines on funding GOF research. You can find it here:
The US federal government has now come up with new fancy acronyms. No more GOF. Now it’s:
1, DGOF (dangerous gain-of-function) research or…
2. PDGOF (potential dangerous gain-of-function) research
This new policy doesn’t stop federal funding of GOF research. It just reclassifies it and buries it in more bureaucratic language. So, the racket continues…
I wonder who/where are the other ‘Wuhan’ like labs around the world now being funded by USA under ‘DGOF’ and PDGOF’ classifications? Would a freedom of information act inquiry tell us those spots? Or perhaps the media can do their job and ask Mr. Kennedy, directly.
Exactly. Good as Matt's piece is, one of his best recently, Matt continues to fixate on the ass-wipe media as if the state propaganda stenographers are ever going to "learn" from their "mistakes."
Matt never comes close to the reality, but tiptoes real close. GOF is a core security investment in America's NCBW program under DARPA oversight and it ain't going anywhere. That's the starting position. Asserting that the release/escape of the virus was intentional on the basis of "who benefits" is a fool's errand and an entirely bass-ackward method guaranteed to botch any attempt to extract an exact timeline of the incident.
I applaud Matt for providing a much better researched and sober account of part of Fauci's career. I disagree completely with scape-goating Fauci who served as the front-man for this debacle. It's like blaming Biden for willing to be a barely-talking head for the folks (still) very much pulling most of the strings.
As you point out, if what Fauci did was so bad and so deviant, why continue to fund GOF? RFK Jr. is applying warning stickers to the cigarettes, but the tobacco manufacturers (GOF science-industrial complex) will continue to be funded and supervised by the US government. That doesn't happen by accident and without "good" reason.
Fauci will only get martyr status with those who already had canonized him. People whosse minds are even the smallest bit open will, in many cases, rethink their position on him.
I will never forget the lady I saw at the gas station back in 2020. She wore big blue kitchen dishwashing gloves to pump gas, then sat in her car and sprayed the gloves down with something, before placing them into a plastic bag. She adjusted her mask, and drove away in her empty car.
I wonder if Senator Andy Kim knows that there is an entire gallery at the new Roosevelt library in Medora, ND where DJT's voice reads out the "Man in the Arena Speech?"
Matt, you are rarely wrong, but are missing the obvious politics of Covid. Dems viewed Covid as a gift from God that could simultaneously rid them of Trump, vastly expand governmental funding, overnight, and remake the American economy and governance permanently, no election required.
Most Red State schools reopened Aug. 2020. Within 60 days, it was clear healthy kids were safe. Yet Blue State public schools would stay closed another year or longer, anyway. Even as some Blue State private schools reopened, like Newsom's kid's $40K a year private school, which opened its' doors in Nov 2020.
At that moment, the rational response should have been if Newsom's kids are safe back in school, why haven't all US public school kids returned? Dems refused, even after Biden won the election.
The entire response to Covid in Blue Sates was a Dem governance wet dream. Complete government control, with no accountability. Many Blue Governors like MI's Whitmer decreed Big Box stores were safe, small businesses were not. They commanded people could visit the Home Depot plumbing aisle safely, but Paint, the aisle next to it, would bring certain death.
The insanity played out all over the US. It had to be ultimate political power trip. Newsom at the French Laundry was the consummate "rules for thee, but not for me" moment. Now he expects to occupy the WH as an encore. Fauci lectured Americans even small gatherings would kill people, and days later welcomed Jake Tapper and wife for dinner. Neither couple saw the hypocrisy, or they did not care. Meanwhile kids suffered irrevocable harm, the elderly died alone and small businesses went belly up, en mass.
The unwillingness of Dems to admit the obvious about Fauci, even after his diary revelations, coupled with their willingness to sacrifice the well being of children, for a disease that presented no threat to healthy kids, even after Trump lost, is a bright line in US history.
In the West, everyone knows the phrase "women and children first" because the rest of the world does not culturally or legally protect women and children, as we once did. That ship sailed with Covid. It was followed by Dems refusing to back the deportation of a child rapist that for 2 years sexually assaulted a preteen girl between the ages of 10-12. When arrested, the predator confessed but blamed the girl, and noted in his culture, the rapes were not a big deal.
Not a single Dem but Fetterman backed the deportation, which considering Covid, is no longer that hard to understand. The lines that, once, could not be crossed, are all gone.
It was possible for someone who was not an NIH insider, not even a scientist, to know about the probable GoF lab leak in Wuhan, about the furin cleavage site and Daszak and Baric and Shi Zhengli, in the spring of 2020. Because I did. And the pathway is instructive.
It began with a friend sending me a link to a notorious "conspiracy theory" site that posited this scenario. This was in March or April, right around the time lockdowns began. Given the reputation of the site (I no longer remember which one) and my as yet unripe state of disillusion, I was ready to dismiss the story ... except that it mentioned (without a link) a 2015 peer-reviewed journal article by "Bat Lady" Shi Zhengli in collaboration with Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, describing the manipulation of bat coronaviruses to see if they could be made infectious to humans. I figured if such an article really existed, I could find it—I'm not a scientist, but I'm a science editor and know how to search the literature. So I did.
I found it in about half a minute. I knew enough to broadly understand it. And I was like, holy shit.
The next step was to look for an analysis of the Covid genome, which could reveal telltale signs of manipulation. That involved a wait of some weeks but then, in May if I recall correctly, miraculously someone had done it on his own. That was Yuri Deigin, a Russian emigré scientist who mostly does anti-aging research. He took the published genome of the virus and combed through it and he found the furin cleavage site. In May 2020. He published it himself—on Medium, of all places!—and I was waiting for him.
So all the pieces of the puzzle were out on the table six years ago, as Dr. Faustus's, I mean Fauci's diaries make clear. They were even within the reach of a motivated layperson like me. (Yes, I certainly wrote about it, on social media and on blogs that don't have a wide reach.) It has been bitterly amusing to watch the story trickle out in different journalistic outlets over the years, against the strenuous objections of the authorities. There are many people who, reading your account today, will put it all together for the first time. We are an incurious bunch.
I sent information to a friend in the beginning of April 2020– a story form NewsMax because it was a news outlet, and she replied that it was conservative and so not reliable. Before then, Mercola and many others were writing about the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Remember when Jon Stewart said, in effect, "duh, it came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology right there," and was pilloried?
I'm not really sure whey it was considered so important for the Left NOT to accept the lab-leak. Is it because that would implicate the CCP?
I don't actually think so. I think it was because science is the religion of the left. Vaccines are Holy Communion, and Fauci was the Pope. A fatherly authority figure who would protect them from death. One of the needs religion has always filled in one way or another (the other biggies being cosmology and community).
If indeed Chinese eat stuff from the "wet market", the Left does not criticize, it accepts that cultural difference. Then accepting the wet market as the source simply accepts the local culture without criticizing it. It is only "you" racist Americans who get offended by eating pangolins. The point with the wet market was also to shield the American culpability in it all.
I love it when the press writes that Rand Paul has accused Fauci of something “without evidence” — when he in fact has a shit-ton of very good evidence that would probably hold up in court. It’s the new buzz word phrase replacing the old “debunked” — which meant one of their experts disagreed with 10 of ours.
I think the reputation of the science establishment has been harmed greatly, but they may deserve it. All the money chasing seems to have really compromised quality.
There are orders of magnitude more people getting "red-pilled" than blue; Elon, RFK Jr, Tulsi - even Bill Maher now, so I'm optimistic that it's a larger percentage of America than half that knows the ChiCom virus was a huge scam.
The remaining defenders of this little troll are the same ones who believe a man can put on a dress and magically become a woman. As it's being shown now in Seattle with the Sophie Cunningham and Storm debacle, these people are steadily becoming the minority.
That the mainstream/corporate media is still hyping the lies though, is them keeping the propaganda op going at all cost. And it's true, you don't hate them enough.
Thank you for calling out the dangerously biased and unethical MSM journalists and for telling truth about Covid..
Proud to say I was one of the signatories of the Great Barrington letter and an early MRNA vaccine sceptic who instructed his college age son to refuse to take it.
There is no reasonable excuse left to support Democrat politicians other than hopeless stupidity.
I've said it before... I perform research and if I lied in a paper I'd be fired and most likely never work in science again. This is much, much more important than a paper and shows once again why scientific results must not be altered to conform to politics. (see Lysenkoism)
In science, as in journalism, if you purposefully deceive, you have abandoned your duty, in order to make propaganda, and I can never trust you again.
'Fauci emerged as an anti-Trump, which to the press made him a beacon of truth.'
TDS is a powerful force, which Democrats have recognized, cultivated, and deployed to such an extent that they're left with no other policy or argument.
As a recovered progressive, when I try to have reasoned discussions with my progressive friends, pretty much their only response is variations on "but Trump".
It was naive to think for even a second that the hardcore, Fauci loving, mask-wearing media and public would have its opinions altered by the revelations of Fauci's diary... They are just too deeply invested, both psychologically and ideologically, in their lie.
This event proves, once again, the old adage that it is easier to fool someone than it is to convince them that they have been fooled. But the normies, the independents with a fraction of an open mind, will be moved to re-think their position. So this is a turning point.
"But the normies, the independents with a fraction of an open mind, will be moved to re-think their position. So this is a turning point."
The Demoratic party has had a lot of those recently, which is why the normies have mostly left and the party is being taken over by socialists (who hate the Democratic party more than the Republicans do, probably)
They're not incompetent, they're complicit.
Without the current mainstream media, covid is never a thing.
A real media would have seen through the lies just like we did -- and they would have been able to stand up to the establishment (unlike us).
A real media would have blown the whistle when the HHS started its "get everybody jabbed" campaign and the government was paying them off to push vaccine propaganda.
https://simulationcommander.substack.com/p/media-claims-rfk-would-destroy-the
Just like Russiagate and Biden's liquified brain, they didn't cover the story because covering the story would have made Democrats look bad.
"Oh what tangled webs we weave...."
But Russiagate and the two impeachments didn't work. So, bring on the pandemic!
Ironically, one of their best strategies to defeat Trump was to promote MAGA candidates in 2022. (While also publicly saying MAGA were Nazis.)
https://www.npr.org/2022/11/11/1135878576/the-democrats-strategy-of-boosting-far-right-candidates-seems-to-have-worked
It started even before he was elected the first time, with the CIA/FBI colluding with the White House to fake intelligence assessments.
https://simulationcommander.substack.com/p/obama-and-others-knew-of-cia-assessment
Obama and Others Knew of CIA Assessment BEFORE December 9th Meeting
...mercilessly bully everyone who tries to disagree
...and also censor them (on old Twitter and Facebook)
But only temporarily. The actions of the left, between Covid, Hunter's laptop, the Twitter files (both Matt's reporting and Elon's purchase), never mind the assassination attempts, only made that four year wait for his re-election, more determined to root out the rot that has taken hold and infected every institution, from gov't to the media to academia and corporate business. In retrospect, I'm sure the left wishes they let Trump win in 2020.
You are right. I don't think the Library of Congress or Smithsonian were ever on his radar and now they are.
It really is that simple. Stop saying america is more racist than ever, penises are vaginas, price controls work, and unchecked immigration has no drawbacks and they would likely be more competitive. Certainly would have been in 2024.
The problem is that they can't say any of that stuff because their remaining base uses those beliefs as a filtering system.
I know. It is equally infuriating as it is absolutely mond bogglingly hilarious.
"Sophie Cunningham thinks girls' sports should be played by girls! She's MAGA!"
Wow thanks for the layup!
Agreed, but our incompetent Republican politicians seem unable to root out much rot.
They're afraid of the deep state, which has survived remarkably intact.
I had never thought about the very good possibility of the truth of your last sentence! I hope that it is so
Perhaps we should stop calling it the “news media”, and call it instead the Political media. The news is really just a side-hustle for big corporate media. News is just a tool, a means to an end, raw interpretive material, that in itself means little. Impact and perception, and maybe emotions are all that really matter.
Its not news at all. It's agitprop.
Yes, but they still had to cheat and had to manufacture 10,000,000 votes for mash potato brain.
That's just a crazy right wing conspiracy theory. Which I'm starting to think is true.
I suspect that was the main reason for the entire Covid debacle.
It did accomplish that, to be sure. But it was at great cost to our society and it crushed our economy.
I think the rono-con is why they stole the election..bc trump wouldn't have mandated the jab and that would have stopped continuing shutdowns
Media + School Indoctrination at ALL levels!
I think the cause of our problems is a combination of both.
Agreed. Or take Mike Benz' analysis. It is The Blob. Politically its the Uniparty.
That is exactly right.
That’s because you’re right. I’m very happy to see Matt Taibi reiterating that you can’t hate media enough.
100%
And there was!!
Yeah. Fauci called that guy (in DC or Baltimore, I can't recall) a REPUBLICAN who doesn't like to be told what to do, and that they had fix (break?) that.
It was a great insight to Fauci's ability to deflect and lie, as well as insight into his ego.
My son, who had just turned 30, was put off by the huge push to get the shot. It made him suspicious, and prompted him to refuse to get the shot.
Yes, that guy was so obviously smarter than Fauci. It was wonderful to watch.
They were also lying to the family, saying they would be protecting the kids by getting the shots.
The threat of death should be from atop scaffolding. Anyone found guilty of treason must be executed— regardless of party, ideology or occupation.
Gabbard called the behavior and decisions of many a treasonous conspiracy over a year ago. Time for speedy trials and executions for those found guilty.
Completely correct. And now they are all in the cesspool they made up to their top lip.
They might as well be sitting at the witness table with Fauci, they're so intertwined at this point.
They are STILL pushing this death shot on us old folks!
They're trying to kill us all off.
Yep. A 2020 Trump would have been nuetered just like 2016 Trump.
2024 Trump is a different beast
"Now they're stuck in a loop where they have to lie about not only the past, but about the present as well."
This is the hazard that all pathological liars face: they get tangled up in their own web of lies. Sadly, Americans WANT them to find a way out of the lies, because they're all a bunch of liars too. However, they're not pathological: "No Baby! I was with Jimmy! We were watching the game at his place!" Yeah, but he wasn't at Jimmy's, they were at the strip club. That's a normal lie. Americans need to get wise to these dangerous liars, but I'm not hopeful.
An average American guy, granted he's from yesteryear, caught in a lie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wK9odsWwfIo
How is Matt STILL a naive Boy Scout?
?
He means Matt's still prone to sympathize with some of the dumber anti-Trump narratives. I think it's his journalists' instinctive distrust of politicians of EVERY stripe.
Your first sentence says it all. They have ALWAYS been complicit, so there's no going back. I think we need a Straw Man, and yanking the FCC licenses of both NBC and ABC, would suffice. If those licenses were put up for bid, there is no telling what they could bring. It would be the friggin sale of the century!
is there a German word for a toxic build up of impotent rage?
The internet tells me "Ohnmächtige Wut,"
https://dictionary.reverso.net/german-english/ohnm%C3%A4chtige+Wut
which led me to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxchlzLWoiw
I don't understand it, but it's certainly what you're talking about.
yes!
we can always rely on the Germans!
Yes. Just say toxicbuildupofimpotentrage.
Interesting to use the Eichmann comparison. I was thinking that myself. Millions were intentionally murdered v. millions were casually killed.
In neither case are the perpetrators sorry.
Mengele not Mandela?
So your saying my reply should have been Josef or Nelson, I guess.
i was comparing Fauci to Josef Mengele and spell check made it Mandela and i didn't catch it. Your 100% correct on Ivermectin and Fauci denied us this safe and effective drug. His crimes against humanity are endless.
He's right you're just suffering from the Mengele Effect.
I hate spell check
Morens is being charged with conspiracy to avoid FOIA requests.
He's quite clearly guilty.
The problem is that that little rat fuck Fauci was so central to what led to the debacle.
One name never comes up:
Ralph Baric
That’s the guy to put in front of Congress.
Exactly!
The senators were hoping to get more info, in order to conduct further investigations.
There was also this: "The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. The exercise illustrated areas where public/private partnerships will be necessary during the response to a severe pandemic in order to diminish large-scale economic and societal consequences."
https://centerforhealthsecurity.org/our-work/tabletop-exercises/event-201-pandemic-tabletop-exercise
Look up Ralph Baric at UNC.
I'm no Fauci defender. I grew to despise him more each time I was exposed to him. I sensed that he was full of shit. And he was.
No, he knew that lab was not secure and allowed the Gain of Function anyway.
Excellent synopsis, Matt. It looks as though AF was just following orders in the form of P3CO when he could have chosen to do the right thing and stopped the “not”-GoF research. This would have made hm heroic.
Menegele, but I 100% agree!
There's a guy named Bruce Miller who comments on another site, seems like a nice guy. One of these Bruce Millers is not like the other Bruce Miller.
BTW...I agree with everything you state here, but nobody ever accused me of being a nice guy.
Navarro as Exh. B.... And then there are all the faceless J6 prisoners...
Yep.
It's just a spectacle.
Republican senators will strut around and post a few videos, then nothing will happen.
re: Cuomo -- While his brother was out and about, unmasked, while infected with Covid, and yelling at somebody who called him out for it.
Fredo?
I remember that.
The economy was going great and Trump was likely to get reelected. The deep state could not have that...
He never said we’re all gonna die. Quotation marks are for actual quotes. You have subzero cred when you do what you just did.
But you are, of course, technically correct.
I meant talking about the virus as it pertains to policy. Obviously he was lying about the funding.
He was lying about everything. He caused it and he knew it.
Yet he somehow managed to score millions more votes than Barack Obama had at the height of his popularity.
Astonishing. . .
The left never lets a crisis go to waste,
Example: Fauci and CDC director Redfield teamed up with Cliff Lane to publish this, in February 2020:
https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/nejme2002387
That's MILLIONS of missed cases in that city alone, which would (as Fauci stated) drive down the CFR to "bad flu" levels.
https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/coronavirus-antibodies-present-in-nearly-25-of-all-nyc-residents/
Coronavirus Antibodies Present In Nearly 25% Of All NYC Residents, Cuomo Says; Un-PAUSE In Certain Regions Of NY Might Begin In May
The Santa Clara study demonstrating this exact thing, by John Ioannidis, Jay Bhattacharya, et al was dealt with rather ruthlessly, and both scientists were almost canceled as a result. I remember being shocked at the time, because Ioannidis was one of the most respected scientists in the world, with the highest number of citations.
Yep.
https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-04-20/coronavirus-serology-testing-la-county
It was released early on in the pandemic and includes many great people.
https://youtu.be/cwPqmLoZA4s?si=OjJVmFKul7LLo_uW
Why was/is he running cover for Peter Daszak? The only explanation I can come up with is they would both be implicated.
You are correct in that. The whole gang had to be protected, to the point where Fauci/Morens/Andersen were communicating in secret about how to steer the conversation.
Think anything will come out of the Morens indictment?
The indictment is pretty air-tight. He literally discusses how he's breaking the law specifically to avoid FOIA requests.
This.
Do you all buy Reynold Wrap or Armor tin foil for your hats? Jesus, get a grip...
Keep being a Fauci fanboy Wally, it’s a good look on you🤡
Yeaaaa —- nothing was going to come from this. At first I thought Fauci’s reputation would be damaged but he’s gaining martyr status.
Good news is that Covid woke a lot of us up — a lot to the truth.
Fauci told us to wear masks in 2020. I told us not to. I got banned — but ultimately looks like I was right: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/in-2020-fauci-told-you-to-wear-masks
07/30/26: NY Times: “The effect was a useless drama that offered zero insights to a public desperate for them.”
Wrong. Dead wrong. And here’s why:
https://www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/nuke-it-from-orbit-thursday-july?utm_campaign=email-half-post&r=10j5hz&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
Thank you for that free link. I'd heard of that site before but never had the chance to read there.
07/30/26: He has single-handedly rendered the fossilized NY Post (aside from sports) obsolete. And how he can do this seven days a week?!
You mean NY Times. Leave the Post alone! 😁
Yikes, he's pretty expensive though, to do other than read public posts.
07/30/26: Yes, the fee is high. It is not excessive. The value delivered is far beyond even my ridiculously exacting (and sometimes counter-productive) standards.
His actaul reporting is usually old news.
He stated earlier this week that Rands committe released "newly declassified documents" on the slack chats of the proximal origin papers.
Racket reported on those chats 3 years ago, when they were actually released.
With that said C&C is a decent read for the rage obsessed...
This is a powerful line that needs to be weaponized in mid-term election advertising: “They had their chance to prove collectivism works. It failed, badly.”
07/30/26: We can count on the RINOs to drop that ball. It's a streak going on now since about 1980...
Oh, my bad.
07/30/26: And convicted, wailed that she was America's Nelson Mandela!!!
You can find it here:
https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/USG-Policy-for-Stopping-High-Risk-Life-Sciences-Research_July-2026.pdf
"Or perhaps the media can do their job"
<snort> 😂
Of course you were right. But the guy who bellowed "oi yam da soy- yence" was lionized by fools and nobody remembers the truth tellers.
I STILL see people wearing masks driving all alone, or while they're walking or riding a bike down the street.
Guarantee that every one of them is a liberal Democrat. Hapless retards.
I will never forget the lady I saw at the gas station back in 2020. She wore big blue kitchen dishwashing gloves to pump gas, then sat in her car and sprayed the gloves down with something, before placing them into a plastic bag. She adjusted her mask, and drove away in her empty car.
I just sat there shaking my head.
I wonder if Senator Andy Kim knows that there is an entire gallery at the new Roosevelt library in Medora, ND where DJT's voice reads out the "Man in the Arena Speech?"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VT7yQ2UNNc
Because they feared cancelation from the racism of accusation of a China source. Pretty simple.
But why was blaming it on eating pangolins and a "wet market" full of all sorts of strange animals eaten by the Chinese not also racism?
I know!
I think some comedian may have raised that issue.
The wet market theory is much more of an insult.
They totally disregard it.
I've argued with a few people today, who profess total amazement at our attitudes toward Fauci.
There are no consequences. There will be no consequences.
Sadly you are correct. See AG Holder.
I think the reputation of the science establishment has been harmed greatly, but they may deserve it. All the money chasing seems to have really compromised quality.
Unless. someone decides that citizen vigilante ain't just a movie.
Really wish we could hear Matt and Walt riff on this Fauci stuff.
Anecdotally, the Covid experience caused a significant number of people to upend their unquestioning trust of authority. Today I was reminded of Taibbi's 2022 interview with Tim Robbins https://www.racket.news/p/tim-robbins-and-the-lost-art-of-finding
I think Robbins was recently on Rogan's show, as well.
In the last day or two. I just queued it up to listen.
