unending sex scandals have been the most fun thing about everything since the beginning of history. Trailer park people and zen buddhists aren't the only people who carry on with their coworkers/cohabitants/group members.
The whole sexual harassment thing might have been just the ticket to stop a lot of that stuff in the workplace. Personally, I never shat where I ate.
My experience was the lower end the IT job, the more ridiculous sex was going on. I used to work at this one place (MacWarehouse/MicroWarehouse, if you remember the catalogs with that blonde girl Kerry on the cover - I sat next to her) where they hired an older gentleman as the executive for their telemarketing and fulfillment place. Dude was in his late 50s and had a wife who came around once in a while, but he had one of the warehouse girls - probably didn't even have a HS education but was well endowed. He was banging her in his office daily - and I knew this because my office was right across from his while I pecked away at my code. They didn't care about noise, walking out all sweaty and disheveled and frankly stinking of sex. She wore sweats every day to work, probably for easy access. This was the late 80s, though. She was walking around the place like Queen Shit and doing about zero work, that was what did him in after a few months. Someone who thought this was inapropos (I knew her...herself a concubine of the owner when he was in town) reported them. In a whirlwind, the owner showed up from CT (this was in Jersey) and fired his ass. His girlfriend lasted another week.
I just watched, shaking my head. I mean this dude made enough he could have taken her offsite and done whatever disgusting shit they were doing at a motel within a mile or so. Hell they could have gone to his car in the parking lot and been more discreet. People are dumb.
Yep. I figure it from around 1990. They used her picture long after she stopped working there - she left to get married in 1989 and I believe had sold the rights to her picture to the owner. She had actually been the customer service manager up to that point. Very nice person, as stated. I liked her, obviously. My first job in the industry, started there when I was 18 or so.
I worked for a place in NYC where two of the vice presidents were hitting this one adminstrative assistant, very pretty but also very damaged. One day she walked up to me and wanted to kiss me, I moved my head away and excused myself. Literally banged chins with her because she had moved in so close.
I always thought it super shitty of them to take advantage of her. I mean she was like putty in the hands of men. When I left the place one or the other was still fucking her. Both married, of course.
I have a feeling that the girl in my original story did bounce back, though I doubt she learned much from that experience. Maybe not to be so indiscreet, I hope.
Okay, THAT was funny.

She was really a nice person and didn't have sex with anyone I was aware of while I worked there :-)
You can definitely tell that advertisement was from another decade.

That's a sad story. I hope she bounced back.
