Why do the Friday podcasts no longer appear on the YouTube playlist? That was the easiest way to watch them for me and it’s frustrating that they disappeared
The Friday podcasts were originally in a public YouTube playlist, which meant that non-subscribers could access full episodes that were meant to be subscriber-only content. Once we realized this, we made the playlist "unlisted" to keep things fair for paying subscribers.
I didn’t realize people were relying on the playlist this way, so going forward, I’ll include the link to the unlisted playlist in each America This Week post under the paywall. This way, subscribers can save and follow it for easy access. I also just added it to the most recent ATW piece. You can find it here: https://www.racket.news/p/america-this-week-mar-21-2025-terror
I also would like to get the Monday episodes in my podcast app (apple podcasts). Right now I only get the Friday episodes in my podcast app. Is there a separate RSS feed that I have to subscribe to to get those?
I would add that I wish they use would use the YouTube video player on this website instead of the current one. With a YouTube player, if you click anywhere on the video, it pauses, click again it resumes play from the same point. With the Racket version, if you click anywhere on the video to pause it, the whole video goes back to beginning of the video. Now you have to do hit-or-miss clicking to find th point where you left off.
When I click on that link from the episode you added, it does take me to the playlist on YouTube. But if I go to the YouTube app and the Racket News channel, the only playlist that shows is the 2024 Campaign Trail one with one video. I’m not sure if there’s something I have to do to link my accounts maybe? Thanks for working on this!
I have been listening to the podcast regularly for probably over two years, and I have to share some thoughts now that I believe it has taken a different turn.
First of all, I have to note that Walter has often gone into the conspiracy theory land with many things, and it's quite boring as I can predict his position on all things regarding Musk or Trump, for example (he's going to defend them). To make it clearer, when I say conspiracy theories, I literally mean theories without any evidence except an attractive story. I don't feel that Matt wholeheartedly agrees with those stories, but he just goes along with them, not challenging him.
I mean, they're both smart and have some great insights, but now I feel like they just want to be contrarians to the Democratic mainstream no matter the cost (Walter more than Matt).
They comment on Democrats and the Republicans like they are distant when in reality, it's one same oligarchic class that is not fighting for the common people with a few exceptions (like an honest mayor or congressman here and there).
All in all, I feel like they're missing the bigger picture of what's going on in America this week and commenting in a small limited box of accepted discourse, and I'm disappointed to see that because both were the symbols of the exact opposite.
Yeah! They should be repetitive sycophants forever! Unless they are just reporting on what they are witnessing and share their experiences and analysis.

Democrats and Republicans are EXACTLY the same. They BOTH ignore their base, are Pro War, and are OWNED by Israel and Billionaires. Trump's cabinet is filled with Israel think tankers, dual-citizens people - NO ONE is "America First." They are ALL - INCLUDING DEMOCRATS- "Israel First."
Dems are NOT fighting Trump's plan to KILL the First Amendment for ANOTHER COUNTRY - ISRAEL. Right now, I can BURN an American Flag, but I am not allowed to criticize Israeli Soldiers shooting toddlers in the forehead? If I WRITE an op-ed, and I'm a Foreign Student, I can be KIDNAPPED off the street!
What is wrong with this picture? Why is it that Walt (mostly) and Matt (weakly) seem to defend Trump's agenda, with little pushback? How is turning Our Social Services over to AI, high tariff taxes on everything, sending people WITHOUT A TRIAL to a foreign Forever Prison, telling NC hurricane victims, "Tough luck, Chuck"... but announce a TRILLION DOLLAR DEFENSE BUDGET, or continuing to give billions to for Israel's Forever Wars- GOOD for the American people?
How has this helped to lift people out of poverty, with a good education & a good paying job? Has this helped our crumbling infrastructure? Cleaned our poisoned water systems? Updated the Electrical Grid? Built a cross-country bullet train?
Mostly, Trump has plunged MORE people into desperate situations, created MORE unemployed and homeless, and created chaos that benefiits more Authoritarian control... and DemocRATS are helping him by talking nonsense and dong nothing to stop him.
So to answer part of your query... BOTH parties are the SAME. They think the American People and what they want, is irrelevant.
Why Matt is turning into Walt, and NEITHER is going on the attack to defend Free Speech and the Bill of Rights or the fncking Constitution - is a mystery. But I suspect it has something to do with Fear.
I was threatened by someone on X just for disagreeing about Khalil - saying ONLY that my husband went through this process and that it's extremely strict, you can absolutely be deported for a laundry list of things. I was just stating facts and taking Israel and Gaza off the table. They went to my profile and said - "I see you work at xxxx, I wonder how they would feel about your support of a Nazi/Fascist President? Let's see if we can make that happen." It was absolutely a threat made in the coldest of terms. I'm a small fish with only 1,200 followers and right out of the gate, over an uncontroversial post without a hint of malice on my part - this is the threat. I should probably change my information somewhat and my YT name (I put my full name when I signed up a million years ago.)
I also interviewed a drag queen for a local paper about her new podcast. A lovely person, very much wanting both side to talk to each other. There was even admission that Republicans were nicer than Democrats - who wouldn't tolerate any communication with the other side. However, there was tons of talk about how amazing Luigi is and how, maybe now he/she finally understands the second amendment! The reason Luigi "has the right idea" according to her, is because of losing a parent young and leaving the other parent hit with enormous medical debt. Is it only because my mother raised me to believe that it's wrong (based on religious tenant - not crazy religion, just boring Protestant faith) and NEVER ok to wish harm on another person? Is this a product of the loss of basic spirituality, or is it the "sanctioned hate" people are buying into? I would bet it's both.
Due to your influence, I am now hooked on short story anthologies. Paper versions are not very expensive when “used.” I invested in short story anthologies of different genres. I never knew there was a category of mystery called “bibliomysteries” centered on the world of books. Murder mysteries, ghost, zombies, locked-room, female detectives, Sherlock Holmes, Jack the Ripper, rogues and villains, “reel” (films, movies), plus anthologies by solo authors like Sherwood Anderson, Ray Bradbury, and H.P. Lovecraft—who the hell is Cthulhu? If I get “in a mood,” I switch books. Sometimes I am in the mood for Jack the Ripper, and other times zombies.

Even though I pay for a subscription for AmaznPooper, Amazn has taken it upon themselves to forcing viewers to endure “commercials,” which I abhor; I feel that move is unethical…😈greedy sons-of-bitches (they delight in creating ill will (“🖕🏼”). I bet they even instituted commercials within Kindle books. But, paper books will never be adulterated with commercials, which I love. I am gradually replacing AmaznPooper with used paper books, and someday will cancel my subscription. AmaznPooper thinks their wares are irreplaceable.
I love your podcasts and it is very very interesting to follow your discussion from Germany and with the knowledge of the mainstream media narrative of what happens in the USA (my coworkers are really talking about the price of eggs in the US here in Germany ... this is the power of propaganda).
Anyway, just randomly thinking about the state of global affairs with my wife, the destaster government with "Fotzn Fritz" Merz which is likely to happen anytime soon, we were wondering, why people are resisting the concept of DOGE eliminating fraud (rather than cutting legally assured services or whatever the correct term is) and what in the world happened to Vivek Ramaswami. Wasn't he supposed to do this thing with Elon together?? Where is heß What is he doing? What is he being asked? What are his answers?#
