Okay. Well, I can't explain the comment threads on the liberal news sites that I read, in that case.

I debate consumers of right wing media every day. They are still obsessed with Masks and lock downs and vaccines.

They are obsessed with it like Democrats are obsessed with Jan 6th and Donald Trump...

People that think they know how the other side thinks about these things are just revealing they are deep in the weeds of partisan media...

BOTH sides are misinformed about the other side. It is a feature not a bug.

Okay. I admit that I have very little exposure to right-wingers. Probably the most exposure I have is from occasionally reading these comment threads, although the people commenting on Taibbi articles are probably not right-wing so much as they are "heterodox thinkers."

But according to my [limited] experience, right-wingers have always thought that Covid is "just a flu," that the vaccines are unnecessary and probably dangerous, that masks were never helpful, and that the lockdowns we had were never necessary and really just an exercise in government controlling the populace (to no specified end).

I have never met a right-winger who thinks that we should all still be masking everywhere and maintaining a 6 foot distance from other people. If you say they're out there, though, I don't have any basis to contradict you.

Would you say an anti xaxxer is a "heterodox thinker"?

I think it's pretty well documented that the vast majority of [Covid] anti-vaxxers are right-wingers in the US.

There's a contingent of left-wing woo-woo hippies who are anti-vax, but I think it's a pretty small percentage.

Why do you ask?

Because you said that the Taibbi right wing comments are heterodox... I would say more of them are anti vaxxers...

That is not heterodox in my view

Yeah, the vast majority of people on these threads seem to be anti-vax, thus my inclination to say that most of my exposure to right-wingers is from these threads.

But I don't know if they are right-wing though. When Taibbi writes an article about foreign wars or economic policy, the comment threads diverge pretty radically from orthodox Republican thinking.

Hence, heterdox. Not that the distinction really has anything to do with my original contention that some people on the left are being stupid about Covid too.
