Anything over two steps of instructions is beyond my caring. I’ll wait for Walter and his terrifying painting on ATW Friday.

Multiple steps and new downloads on different gadgets etc PLUS ambiguity as to now or perhaps tomorrow = very few viewers indeed. Maybe if I have kids someday, and they grow up, they might help me with this newscast

Ed Carapezza's avatar

Yep. Great content dies with poorly executed producing. No idea where this content can be viewed. What gives Racket!!!

Kathleen McCook's avatar

Yes, I listen to the live streams, but this was a whole set of new actions. Hoping it's available on the Racket substack site.

Tardigrade's avatar

I hope someone asks him about the painting someday. I can't help thinking of it as a dead flamingo with its feet in the air next to an otter plunging into the swamp from a tree. More disturbing than terrifying, perhaps.

James Martucci's avatar

I have been asking about that painting but they keep talking about frivolous things like elections and censorship.

Jim

Glitterpuppy's avatar

I agree. Let’s push the issue. I mean, they gotta get their priorities straight

Tardigrade's avatar

If enough people ask in the comments during ATW…

Glitterpuppy's avatar

I thought it was an elephant

James Martucci's avatar

A very angry, skinny elephant.

Jim

Glitterpuppy's avatar

Lol. Well, I had slurking down a few cocktails…

Sarah A C's avatar

It was one click easy for me to watch. But cannot wait for Taibbi and Kirn of course too.

James Martucci's avatar

I watched as well. I wanted to use a bit of humor to bring attention to that cursed painting. I apologize to all concerned regarding my childish deceit.

Directions like this = self-censorship

The state rejoices

General Comment: the substack interface is a cluster, & esp bad in reconciling subscribers who are on computers rather than smart phones, & not so great for the latter, anyway.

Glitterpuppy's avatar

Agree. I’m just too lazy

David Cooper's avatar

The new Substack feature is waaay better than Rumble or YouTube, with no glitches so far that I've seen with the two recent Lee Fang conversations.

For questions though, I don't think there's live chat and reactions from the audience, so the questions would have to be submitted ahead of time.

More or less, it's a real time interview/conversation between the participants. In a way it's much better than the ATW format, because it goes in a straight line so to speak.

Put it on your phone for sure, eventually you'll have to anyway.

Amy Kennedy's avatar

Wait, is this today or tomorrow? The headline says today but the body says tomorrow? I do hope Walter will be back!

DaveL's avatar

Me, too. No more Rachel Maddow!

Mark Blair's avatar

I like the Maddow. I can't stand to listen to her on my own, but it is important to check in and see what is being said to stay out of the bubble. Easier to stomach with good company.

DaveL's avatar

That’s true, I know I’d never seek something like that out on my own, but I am at least aware of the flow of idiocy that comes from her!

Glitterpuppy's avatar

I think today IS tomorrow

it'll hit you hard

Anybody else hate this app?

Why is it always asking me to install it ? It's installed. No links from X or emails open the app.

It's a mess

Spoofs desu's avatar

You iOS version may not support the required iOS 16 or higher to install the app.

Is anyone else alarmed about the ubiquitous movement of all online engagement to apps? Apps are all tied to one’s phone number, which essentially IS a form of digital ID. Does anyone know if it is easier for Substack and other corporations to harvest our data when we engage with their app specifically as opposed to reading emails sent by the company or watching videos on YT and Rumble in our browsers? Once we’re all divided up onto our respective apps and our data is harvested and sold to the likes of Palantir and we’re manipulated by whatever shows up in our feeds, does good old fashioned censorship even have a significant role?

JennyStokes's avatar

I do NOT have a mobile 'phone.

Glitterpuppy's avatar

Impossible. My cat has a mobile phone

Running Burning Man's avatar

That is because you live in France and are retarded

JennyStokes's avatar

Wow.

Can you please tell me (look at the figures on Google) why so many Americans are moving to Europe.

Glitterpuppy's avatar

Because they are looking for young women

Running Burning Man's avatar

Because they are tetarded.

Mark Blair's avatar

I'd like to see the standard shift to Web Apps. They are almost as powerful as native iOS/Android apps these days, but play better with privacy.

Glitterpuppy's avatar

I solved the problem of data harvesting. They take one look at my shit and realize they have nothing worth anything

DarkSkyBest's avatar

Ha! But if Kammy wins, no doubt we will being tracked of. Yikes. Horrid grammar.

James Martucci's avatar

It was just poor marketing. If it was advertised as “Matt App”, I’m there.

Jim

Nowhere Man's avatar

Download the new Taiappi app to your Android or iOS phone today!

Ellen Morelock's avatar

Well, I don't do apps; I don't have a smartphone & I don't want to screw up my laptop. Hopefully it will be available eventually on Racket.

Running Burning Man's avatar

"I don't do apps"

You, my friend, are a real hero!

Running Burning Man's avatar

OK, unless I am missing something, this can only come in on a smartphone???

Taibbi, have you chickened out of youTube and Rumble?

Bently's avatar

Thank you for asking the question... I was too embarrassed to ask. I'm old and figured I'm way out of it.

Kathleen McCook's avatar

Meanwhile we can read County Highway.

thx. Hope that works. I use my desktop, rather than phone.

Matt - the day is in question. You sent this out today and today’s date is in your graphic, yet your narrative says tomorrow. Please clarify. Thanks

Sybil's avatar

P.S. Because you typed “Thursday,” it must be today. LOLOLOLOL! See you shortly.

Secret Squirrel's avatar

How are you getting to it? No link here and nothing on Rumble

Secret Squirrel's avatar

As it turned out, a notification alert came to my cell phone. Click and I was in!

Sybil's avatar

I had 2 notifications, clicked on them and it brought me back to these posts. So, I don’t yet know … sorry

Censorship is The defining issue of our time. We see how wrong the elites were about Covid and that even today, they refuse to admit that they were wrong.

Jim M's avatar

There WILL be an ATW w/ Walter, right?

As far as Ms. Williamson, meh. Sorry, but she's not someone I'm interested in hearing from right now. I think you should have saved that for after Christmas, man.

GO YANKEES!!!

PLG's avatar

Let's see how the conversation goes, but I strongly believe we need to bring more people who "code blue" into the anti-censorship fold (like it or not, folks like Matt, Brett Weinstein, Tulsi, etc now "code red").

The establishment has removed the mask and admitted that there's one party from Bernie and AOC to the Cheneys. I'm opposed to that party, and I assume just about everyone else here is as well, but if we also divide our opposition into subgroups, that's just doing the establishment's job for it.

Kathleen McCook's avatar

Patrick, you are the definition of hope.

Patrick's avatar

Springs eternal. Lived it. Sprinkle in some persistence and a dash of Irish gallows humor.

Deb Cleary's avatar

Matt. Please. Just put a link to YouTube . Do we have to reinvent the wheel again? 😫

JennyStokes's avatar

I loved substack when I came on here 4yrs ago.

Then everything got complicated.

I don't want to listen to people talking because I am deaf AND NO subtitles.

When there are subtitles they are at the very bottom of the 'chat' with other things crowding out the subtitles.

SO fucking sick of selfish people disregarding 100000's of deaf people.

Mark Blair's avatar

This is excellent feedback. I wonder if there is an ability added to produce a transcript, and if Matt could post it. Even though I listened, my mind wandered at times due to the comments and I'd like to read it myself.

Glitterpuppy's avatar

They should at least yell loud.

Bill Pound's avatar

I'm hard of hearing. Will you publish a transcript of this discussion?

Virg's avatar

There was no way I was getting into the stream and I tried. Please stop using Substack for this stuff. Twitter Spaces and Rumble. Substack did send me lots of pro-Kamala content as I was attempting to find it.

For one thing, I use my computer and not a phone for everything. Substack forces the app on us. I don't want to use my phone for stuff like this. This was very frustrating and now I have another app on my phone I don't want.

Please, please, use simple platforms for video. Substack is great for the written word. It is not a substitute for Twitter, X, or Rumble or even Youtube, but I try to avoid Youtube. Just don't use Substack for these purposes.

Finally, is this available as a replay? I can't tell.

JennyStokes's avatar

I don't want the Substack app.

I want to see written words.

I am deaf and most 'readings' do not have subtitles.

Getting so fed up with substack......think about deaf people and IF you do use subtitles don't put them at the bottom.

Tardigrade's avatar

I didn't know about the series. Thank you!

People like to dismiss Williamson as a wacko, but I thought during the 2016 debates she said some interesting things.

Mark Blair's avatar

She is exceptional, and a woman for these times.

That is how they sidelined her. They do the same to RFK Jr, as well as to Trump with the "fascist" nonsense.

Harris hasn't evidenced 1/10th of the intellectual depth of Marianne. It is absurd.

Tardigrade's avatar

Yes, when she ran in 2016 I was still drinking the Kool-Aid.

Glitterpuppy's avatar

Hmmm, I was drinking the bourbon..

Nowhere Man's avatar

Jimmy Dore dismantled her pretty well about a year ago, you ought to find and listen to that interview.

Tardigrade's avatar

Like I said, I thought during the 2016 debates she said some interesting things. Not enough for me to consider voting for her.

Nowhere Man's avatar
