There is no real difference between the two faces of the uniparty, each say what those that are ideologically wed to their 'party' want to hear and yet the study by Princeton shows that you don't matter, the only way bills get passed is if they benefit the wealthy, the ones that got there on your back. Think back, what was the _real_ difference between an Rep or a Dem administration to you personally, yes, both of them stoked fear of what the other party would do, but neither made any real _positive_ changes to your life, it's all about getting _your_ sheeple to vote for you, and once you are elected, you have four years at the trough before you have to start lying to them again. You know the story, well, we were going to do what we told you we would do, but those evil ______ wouldn't let us and voted down our bills.
You keep repeating the same lament, and it will not solve anything.
There is every difference today between the parties, now that DJT support has driven out the neocons, for the most part. Of course, it will take the Republicans, now firmly in anti-woke, libertarian control, decades to reverse the damage (only some of which you well state here) of 100+ years (since at least the advent of Wilson's Progressives) of Democrat Party Statism, and return limited, Constitutional gov't.
The solution is going back to _industrial_ capitalism and back to higher taxes on the 1%, I know your ideology wouldn't permit that, but think about the 50s and 60s, I was there, from your picture, it looks like you may have been too, it was reasonable to expect to have your own home, a new car and any job you desired and were willing to work for. I remember when you could quit your job and walk down the street and have a new job the same day, regardless of your profession or trade, try that today. It's now fully expected that this generation will not be able to live at the same level as their parents, regardless of their drive and education, you decry Wilson' progressives but reversing what they did has NOT made anything better, except for the 1%, look what happened to income disparity after Reagan.
Ideology aside, financial capitalism has nearly run it's course and the typical result is revolution, historically that has been what happened, it happened to the Greeks, it happened to the Romans, it happened to France and it happened to the British colonies that became the USA. The rich will not give up what they took willingly, and they have the resources to fight you and frankly, they have access to all the media so they can convince you that even though they have financially raped you, it's a good thing!
Sorry, Laverne, but the wealthy have not "raped" me.
You and I and every other individual, even today, is free to spend less than that earned (the creation of wealth) and therefore to amass capital, and become wealthier.
You are way too far gone in your hatred of those who have already done so.
Yes, the system is unfair and in need of repair (the State controls the fiat reserve currency, and the Fed needs to drop its contradictory second mandate of full employment, for just two examples), but that is what democracy is for. The People need to wake up further, and elect Capitalists (Classical Liberals), not Statists.
Sir, you presume too much, I have no hatred, what I have is an understanding of the system that has made it the way it is. Along those lines, you can vote for whoever you wish, but it will make no difference, both parties are that same and the system is set up so no third party has a chance and none of the politicians that those innocent capitalists have bought are going to change the system. You don't understand economics and you are ignoring history and human psychology, among other things. FWIW, as much as you think installing them is a good idea, I don't think you understand classical liberals either.
I am *nothing* but Classical Liberalism, the economic system of which *is* Capitalism (true, not crony), the social system that does *not* engage in your class warfare and demonization of those who have saved more than you. Capitalism (true, not today's cronyism) reqiures a *limited* gov't, much smaller than today's. The only way to get there is electing Classical Liberals, the vast majority of whom (today) are Republicans., the Democrats having purged their own few.
There is only one alternative to the ballot box, but deceitful Marxists like yourself know it, don't you.
Are you familiar with the work of Alexander Tytler?
Ah, the Marxist boogeyman, the propaganda is strong in you. Read some of the classical liberals writings and if you are objective in that, you will see that neither face of the uniparty has anything in common with classical liberals.
As for Tytler, he was not a classical liberal, he was a libertarian, and that NEVER works, as he pointed out when he said that ' The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.' In fact the Western systems of capitalism had been redirected towards that libertarian attitude by Reagan and his successors so that the 1% gained predominance by at the point where selfishness overcame the normal process and we are now well on our way back to bondage. In the word of an old song, you owe your soul to the company store, thanks to libertarian attitudes.
