Exactly if I remember correctly it was after that trip that he went home and the IRS showed up at his door which maybe marked a change in tone of his reporting ? He’s definitely changed the topics and defers to Walter’s Fox News sensibilities far more frequently since then.
But I was really looking forward to hearing how all criticism of Bari Weiss is jealousy and what a great reporter she is today 🤗🤦🏼♀️👍
lol, Matt just weeks ago was insisting people stop bellyaching about Bari Weiss, and tried convincing us she was a fresh new voice that would give legacy media a much needed shake up…. boy, that didn’t age well. Turns out, she flips faster than a flapjack on a short-order griddle (nor, for that matter, have Matt’s other predictions aged well this year, you know, that DOGE was amazing! and would usher a ‘golden era’ of journalism or that Trump’s DOJ was about to blow open a new Watergate that would ensnare Comey, Obama and HRC).
He’s changed so much since I first started reading him in Rolling Stone. You have to wonder why..how does one go from co-hosting with Katie Halper to Fox News darling Walter Kirn? What unseen forces are at play here ?
Watching him defend someone as indefensible as Bari Weiss is painful. That’s someone he previously would have lampooned…Merry Christmas Matt and yes ! May you get your mojo back in 2026 🔥💚
