They weren't doing the speech controls that the other big guys think are necessary. I think the really big allegation was that the capitol riot was planned there. But even before that they were getting a bad reputation for allowing people to say things that are offensive to progressives. And it was popular with people who got kicked off Twitter.
I was plying Twitter for news for a few months and had fairly good experience just by being selective about who I followed. But I ended up quitting in protest at their aggressive biased rules. I've quit FB too.
There are a couple of Twitter accounts I liked who are really thoughtful. They don't have many followers. I nuked my own account but I still lurk on their feeds.

Thanks for the response. I only ever got on Twitter because of the COVID lockdowns. I was horrified by what I saw.
