"And isn’t it somewhat illogical for there to be two indigenous groups on a piece of land"

Not really; think about how many different tribes lived in North America. Jew vs. Arab is like Comanche vs. Apache, or Cherokee vs. Sioux. It's more of a tribal difference than an ethnic one.

"the Arabic alphabet is a derivative of the Nabataean variation of the Aramaic alphabet" https://www.pathsofjordan.net/some-facts-about-the-nabataeans/the-nabataean-script-a-bridge-between-the-aramaic-and-the-arabic-alphabets

I agree that the ball is in the Palestinian court to give up their pipe dreams of getting Jerusalem back.

Except that the various Indian tribes occupied different spaces in the Americas. It’s like saying the Jews and Arabs are indigenous to the Middle East. Bore down a bit and you get Jews in Judea and Arabs in Arabia.

Also, using a similar alphabet does not show a direct linkage of the languages, merely a mode of transliteration.

The territories of each tribe had a ton of overlap though; it's not like you could draw on a map where Cherokee territory ended and Sioux territory began.

Judea & Samaria were historically a mixed bag of tribes, Jews being one of them. Neither Jews nor Arabs can claim a monopoly on being indigenous to the Holy Land. What changed is Islam, which is much more intolerant of infidels than any previous Arab religions. Before Islam came along, the various tribes could at least alternate between petty wars and tolerating each other as neighbours.

To be fair to Baghdad, the Mongols crushed pretty much everybody.

Israel really isn't a "colonialist outpost", so much as a badly designed form of reparations for European Jews. And yeah, I remember when Biblethumping Christians wanted Israeli-Arab conflict because they thought it would trigger the Rapture.
