At the.moment, there is no concrete pathway I have heard or can imagine for achieving this. Nevertheless, I believe it is inevitable. Our God clearly wants it (read the NT and tell me otherwise), and it is clearly in everyone's human interest.
Suffrage is one of many many issues between the sexes that need to be resolved through Christian prayer and dialogue. When enough of us pray on it, proclaim we want it, and simultaneously demonstrate Christlike qualities of love, patience, and a discerning rare whip to women, the path will emerge.
Does this apply to trans male-to-females or male-to-females as well? Should they be denied the vote and the get the "discerning rare whip"? What does the Bible specify about that?
Trans is not acknowledged by the Bible and should not be acknowledged in policy. I have a heart for the very very very small minority of male to female trans who have always existed, and my impression is that they want to blend in as women as much as possible. Thus, in a society without women voting, they wont want to vote.
The explosion of trans on the last 10 years is plainly demonic. These people are not well and we arent going to build social policy qrpund them anymore. We can pray, challenge, care, and minister on a personal level, save those (and I think there are many) who can be saved.
Good discussion, guys. I especially liked the part about conspiracies. It reminded me of the JFK assassination conspiracy film "Executive Action," in which a small group of wealthy right wingers decide to kill Kennedy.
If it makes you feel better my best friend has tried to read it three times and never mad past 200 pages. I think now he is just going to just watch the podcast without following along.
It's funny in more of the soaked in irony sense, I am not sure if one can readily pick that up on a first read through.

I've really enjoyed Brad the past few episodes. It's obvious that he's getting more comfortable and his flippant takes are getting increasingly entertaining (along with his impressive, almost encyclopedic knowledge on ancient literature)
I am reluctantly cancelling my subscription. It's not because Walter left. I have listened to some of GetLit and enjoy it, but I have never been a fan of podcasts and prefer reading content. I enjoyed the book portion of the Matt and Walter podcast and really appreciated having actual transcripts of the show that included each speaker's name, not the AI generated crap I see on some sites now. Please bring back transcripts and I will try again.
Brad, I share your extreme concern about AI getting out of hand and causing extreme human suffering. About a year ago I read Yudkowsky's book and have watched in amazement as NO ONE REFUTES HIM AND YET NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING. It's a similar sick horror to 3 years of the Biden administration yawning over a 10 to 50% chance of NUCLEAR FUCKING WAR.
I was still a cultural Christian then. I had no belief in Christ, no belief in an active God watching over Earth, and no faith in an eternal life. Now that I have found Christ (by way of Charlie) I feel assured of all of these things, and that changes everything.
If God wants this age to end, it will. If He doesn't, it won't. This doesnt make me in any way passive. It clarifies right action and calms any fears of fatal consequence. Should we steer away from nuclear war? YES! Should we pursue peace and harmony among nations and among the sexes? YES! Should we figure out how to contain AI? YES! God wants us to be active in caring for one another and minimizing human suffering. And, while I pray Hell is empty, I am certain that our individual choices in these regards will very significantly affect the quality of our eternity (and possibly whether we experience it at all).

Perhaps in a Christian theocracy this might apply. But the United States is a secular democracy.

Usually I trust your taste, but am 130 pages into Demons and am disliking it intensely. You’ll have to explain what’s funny, I’m not getting it.
Also have read much Tolstoy, Trollope, & Galsworthy, so its not the 19th century per se that’s unfamiliar. Looking forward to the discussion.
