I want to be the first comment just one time

Well done. Is it as great as you might have imagined? Asking as a friend.

If Virginia goes red it will 100% be downstream of the school/gender/rape scandals under the NoVa Dems.

Matt's reporting on Loudoun county should have won a Pulitzer prize.

Made me a subscriber.

Just shifted back blue... Still says a lot for popular vote

"It would be a shock if the Virginia numbers held"

Lots of shocking numbers tonight, though -- and nearly all of them look good for Trump.

Ollo Gorog's avatar

Yep. For them to have called Virginia so early, says that they expected a strong showing. Oops!

GP1935's avatar

Likely they assumed it wasn't possible for the Dems to alienate any NoVa residents and so the spread would replicate the last election. May still go blue but more competitive than expected I think.

I live in Fairfax County. Of course, we’re deep blue. But I’ve been shocked at how many Trump signs have popped up. It’s actually been amusing. It’s a battle of the lawn sign. Not saying Trump will take VA, but I think people are sick of keeping their mouths shut.

Kathleen McCook's avatar

I live in a blue area and no Trump signs in yards not one. This morning as I drove along the major streets there were Trump signs all along them...

Summing it all up here: "I think people are sick of keeping their mouths shut"

Anecdotally, my wife is vice chief of our election precinct in deep blue Fairfax County Virginia. She just go home and reported that this reliably democrat precinct was nearly tied. Harris narrowly won. This is really, really unusual for my neighborhood.

Turd_Ferguson's avatar

I think Matt wrote an article some time ago explaining why....

Kathleen McCook's avatar

Yes, that was such good reporting.

I’m here for the exploding heads like the end of raiders of the lost ark

Bradley Lacke's avatar

I hope to see at least one face melt with the eyes rolling out, but I think either one is fine as long as the head is destroyed

Wile e coyote anvils as well.

CasterBean's avatar

Yeah Trump! Time to turn the page on the Barack Obama dynasty and usher in a new coalition. No 4th term for BO.

Tardigrade's avatar

Maybe we shall indeed be unburdened by what has been.

@ZaidJiLani: “For some reason media got really stuck on Michigan but Northern Virginia alone has like 250,000 Muslims and probably explains some of Kamala’s underwhelming margins in the state. And a lot of Georgia Muslims are not voting Dem this time either.”

Janine's avatar

The stupidest thing ever done politically was to lump all immigrants together -- cartel traffickers with legit hard-working immigrants. Beyond stupid, and IMO, shows you the ignorant prejudices of the elites. (I'm married to an immigrant, father an immigrant, grandparents immigrants)

The four letters the DNC will rue forever? G A Z A

michele burns's avatar

They’ve made so many mistakes they should just write off the entire alphabet and simply stop talking.

Turd_Ferguson's avatar

Not mistakes... Arrogant hubrus

Jody Hadlock's avatar

I almost fell on the floor I LMAO’d so hard!

Thunderlips's avatar

Matt....we need Walter here. I swear election night is like an alien abduction. Did you or did you not get abducted and probed? The answer changes so frequently.

NY Times gives Trump 68% chance of victory. 55% chance of Republican sweep including Senate and House

DaveL's avatar

Pretty good news, but it's never good that either party hold the Executive and Legislative completely.

Dave Browning's avatar

100% agree. If it matters which party is in power federally, we have already failed. Between DOGE and RFK I hope they reinstate the Constitution and bill of rights and get rid of the three letter agencies making a mockery of our Republic.

Barbara Delisi's avatar

Normally I agree. But not now. Because I hope for true real federal election reform. And definitely gearing ride of at least all these cri.inal illegals. Shutting off the money. Turning back mandates.

Brandy's avatar

I think it's good for 2 years. Hopefully, we can get some voting legislation passed at the very least.

P.S.'s avatar

They did absolutely nothing with the power the first time. They probably won't this time if they get it.

Jessica's avatar

Exactly. 🤦🏼‍♀️

MH's avatar

I agree but IMO the Dems need a serious wakeup call to bring them back to the center. Their leftward lurch (social justice, DEI, uncontrolled immigration, gender ideology in schools, jew hate etc..) has done so much damage it will take a minimum of 4 years to correct the error of their ways.

DaveL's avatar

If the Republicans sweep, we’ll soon be reminded why they were dumped in the first place.

P.S.'s avatar

If only...Going to be a long night.

Election update: Allred can take that tinfoil hat and shove it where the sun don’t shine

Catherine Wilson's avatar

THE BEST NEWS! Allred will no longer be my Congressman NOR my Senator! WHOO!! HOO!! Out of elected office! Watching Allred’s embarrassing behavior during the subcommittee and his treatment to both Matt and Mike Shellenberger locked in my “never” vote for Allred. A little Justice for you, Matt!

Brandy's avatar

Really? Is it called?

Halsey Burks's avatar

Yaaaaaaaaassssss! As a VA voter, I strongly endorse this

Anne S's avatar

Me too. I'm so proud.

Tardigrade's avatar

Polls close here in Utah in about five minutes. In this state, there will be no surprises. I see my previous home of Wyoming is already colored dark red on the AP map. Wyoming is the reddest state of all, Utah a close second.

DaveL's avatar

...and they dumped Liz Cheney a while back!

Thank you for keeping us informed, Matt!!
