It’s been nearly a week since Election Day, and that can only mean one thing: California is still counting votes.
This is the period when the received wisdom surrounding the outcome of the election tends to crystallize. The fact that much of that wisdom is anything but wise is irrelevant. Certain stories and narratives gain traction, and they tend to play an outsize role in shaping the trajectory of the next four years.
