I usually can’t get enough of your podcasts. Today I stopped listening after 15 minutes or so, mostly because of your dismissive attitude toward the Epstein affair. I love hearing what you both have to say about current events, because I’m clueless about politics compared to y’all. I trust your judgment about the importance of news items, but when you failed to address something I (and a lot of other folks) care a lot about deeply—without explaining why you think it isn’t worth your time—I guess I felt dismissed as well.
Walter has an undisclosed conflict of interest that he kept from the Racket News audience, since December he’s been pursuing a job offered to him to be the Librarian of Congress, a position appointed by Trump and approved by the Senate.
This undisclosed conflict of interest should clarify why he is so subservient to Trump. That he has this undisclosed conflict is damning of both his reputation as a source and damages Matt as Walter used Matt’s platform to spin for trump while gunning for a job. Did Matt know?
The second I heard him say on Tucker’s podcast that he was being considered for that position his stances on both Iran and Epstein made perfect sense to me.
Hang on a second. Trump does U-turns on major issues he campaigned (and therefore won) on and it's the "dissident characters" who believed him are in the wrong for crying foul? I love you Walter, but I don't know how smart people like you haven't realized what's obvious to some of us. Trump is an ideologically unmoored imbecile who is prone to being manipulated by flattery and changes his mind more often than he changes his underwear, based on the Q rating of the last person who was in his ear.

This information comes from Walter himself. He was recently on Tucker Carlson as his guest. Walter told Tucker Carlson that he was approached about the job in December and wants to take it if it’s officially offered. No conspiracy at all, straight from his own mouth.
And since December, he hasn’t told the Racket News audience that he’s gunning for a job that’s appointed by President trump himself and approved by the Senate.
He still hasn’t told the Racket News audience. It’s an obvious journalistic ethics violation to be gunning for a job from the person you are reporting on and not disclosing it.
Whether it influenced him only Walter would truly know, but it’s very plainly the case that the job is something he wants and Trump is known for demanding loyalty over any other attribute from his employees. So it’s really not possible for me to believe that Walter was not, even if subconsciously, censoring himself knowing that if he gets on the wrong side of Trump that his odds of getting the job plummet.
I doubt walter will address it to the ATW audience unless pressured since it’s quite an indictment that he never disclosed this while he professed to provide reporting on the Trump admin from his “inside sources.” Also condemns the authenticity of his commentary/support of Trump generally.
permanent Washington administrative state loves AutoPen. dems should just come out next election with candidate AutoPen. he'll get just as many votes as biden, since there is no difference.

Hey Racket News readers, I thought you should know that Walter Kirn has, since December, had an undisclosed conflict of interest on his reporting on the Trump admin. While Walter has been defending trump on America This Week and quoting his “sources” in the administration, what he never told Racket News readers is that he was offered and has been trying to secure a job as the Librarian of Congress, a position appointed by President Trump himself.
Since I actually have respect for the audience, unlike Walter, I’ll be sharing this information on every single ATW show comments section until Walter discloses it on the show to Racket News audience members. He should have said this months ago, but instead has pretended to be an objective and uncompromised source of journalism on the Trump admin. Just keep in mind that Trump doesn’t appoint people who aren’t loyalists when you wonder why Walter Kirn is spinning another defense of Trump on the next show.
Walter: “what if Trump is secretly planning X” “what if Trump is purposefully doing Y”
The rest of us: what if he’s just effing incompetent and chaotic? What about that Walter?
Also, for all of his ability to read between the lines and imagine alternative narratives, when it comes to Israeli denial of Epstein involvement, what does Walter say?

one of the most interesting stories of our time and walter is like yawn i’ve heard it all before. i’ll bet you haven’t. pop pop is just in a constant state of reacting, stringing sentences together as he goes, inventing facts to support his points.
matt get rid of this clown and get back to the stories.

Another great show! You always leave me with things I’ve failed to think about or see myself. I appreciate that. I keep seeing you guys as Laurel and Hardy with wandering Matt and pretty sure Walter. Whether brilliance or providence, your show works! You should wear the hats sometime.
Is Walter ever going to disclose his months long conflict of interest that compromised him as a neutral journalistic source on the Trump admin like he’s been posing as while he simultaneously has been pursuing a job that is appointed by Trump himself?

i doubt that any appointed fbi director actually has full control over the permanent deep state. wray seemed like a boob that had no idea. kash shows up, "where's the files?!" deep state says, "nope, no files." or " here's one. you're on the list" or "let it drop or your family will pay.".......any number of scenarios. If I can come up with stuff, what can a thousand deep state agents that do this for a living come up with?
bottom line, we will never know the truth on this (and many other issues). Even if we get the truth, it will be unrecognizable. too many factions (deep state, foreigners, political parties, motivated individuals) will throw shade and sew doubt and more conspiracy.
at the end of the day we know two things: 1) the government is irredeemably corrupt and has a lock on power, and 2) there will never be any real accountability through a system of "justice" that is designed to protect institutional corruption.
once you get to those two points, you start thinking..........you have two options. allow it to continue or don't allow it. we don't need anymore evidence. no more talking needed. no more distractions.
The Autopen discussion was so interesting. I thought Autopen was used to make it look like the Pres actually sent me a Christmas/holiday card.
So now, Autopen can void sentences of death row inmates?
So now, Autopen can reverse policy on sentencing guidelines, without explanation? Sort of sounds like The Biden Team ignoring the US Supreme rulings on student loans.
I want full-blown everything on these people by prosecutors who respect the law and know what they are doing and do not grandstand.
In a related story, the DNC was paying Hunter’s legal bills, until maybe — now?

True or just a good conspiracy theory? Let’s hear what Walter has to say / confess.

The question remains whether this supposed self-interest has affected/ biased his commentary at all. Yes,
it was undisclosed. But now that it’s out in the open let’s see how he responds to it.

Alright that’s it Walter couldn’t just slink away about the Epstein thing he had to keep digging himself deeper. Unsubscribed.

I'm pretty sure there are implicit threats to family members along with the stonewalling.
How do you not allow it exactly?
You get about 30 million pissed of American citizens that will no longer acknowledge the government as legitimate and the rest takes care of itself.
If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line. But it better work this time.

Lincoln used an auto pen. They’ve had them forever but usually used to send public correspondence like birthday greetings and congratulatory letters.
